Holy smoke Sneaky.

dh got this token thing from Lakeland today. I wondered if it would be any use to anyone? It's £5 off from spending £30, or £10 off from spending £50.

Our garden is very tidy now, and my kitchen sink is very polished. Also there is a small square of the kitchen linoleum which is now the colour that it was when we bought it. Woohoo! Living it large.

SneakyGremlins · 05/01/2019 19:50

Haven't trolleys changed with the new £1?

Unescorted · 05/01/2019 19:54

girlie they won't fit her feet.

Sneaky I use one a trolley token. I also have an EDL St George's cross token that some had left in the trolley I went to get one time..... I can't lose the wretched thing.

We need old pound coins for swimming too. There's always huge hilarity when we're standing practically naked in the changing room and the locker token has gone through the hole in the lining of my bag.

ememem84 · 05/01/2019 20:27

cag dh wraps it in on itself (so puts all filling in the middle and then brings the sides in so it forms sort of a pentagon shaped parcel). Today I popped one wrap flat on the frying pan (no oil just dry pan on high) added grated cheese and onion and a spoonful or two of beans (beans in the middle) then popped another wrap on top. Cheese melts and sort of glues the whole thing together. Turning it over was a bit scary but commit to it.

tayto yes keeep posting exercise

sneaky no. £100 a week is not nearly enough for treats 🤣😉

girlie have pm’d you

unescorted shame the boots won’t fit but I probably didn’t need them anyway....!

I’m in bed early. So tired. And my throats sore and my nose stuffed up. Dh has made me a hot water bottle and I’ve got a hot squash.

AdoraBell · 05/01/2019 20:30

Just seen your PM Girlie I’m bleeding knackered this evening, I’ll have a look tomorrow.

Unescorted · 05/01/2019 20:45

The kids have acknowledged the pecking order has been re-established. Rooms to have been gutted and cleared by the end of the week otherwise I will do it for them with the aid of the car to take it all to the tip. Anything that needs eBay has exactly 1 month before it gets sent to the charity shop. DH has been telling me all about minimalism and how amazing it is. I have even been sent a link....... Much better buy in if he thinks it is his idea. I love netflix- all I had to do was search for relevant titles with a blokeish tilt from his account and hey presto. All I have had to do was sound a little reluctant so he had to repeat the virtues of getting rid of stuff so he internalised it. He is a simple soul.

Unescorted 🤣 that's amazing

Cagliostro · 05/01/2019 21:00

OMG I mean late October for the cake not November 😳😳😳😳😳

#mumfail #thirdchild

In my defence she was DUE in November... 😳

SneakyGremlins · 05/01/2019 21:05

Once I've paid off my Argos card I have a £210 limit.

There's a lovely divan bed for £209.99....

SneakyGremlins · 05/01/2019 21:05

And that's a year to pay off which is VERY doable.

CurvyInAllTheWrongPlaces · 05/01/2019 21:19

NSD.
Unescorted, I like your style!

Unescorted · 05/01/2019 21:20

sneaky come back to it in a week. That way you can better gauge if it is necessary or impulse. When money was really tight I used to freeze my credit cards in a bowl of water...the only way to use it was to defrost it which took days because the microwave would ruin the magnetic strip. Obviously this was before shopping on line.

OP posts:
SneakyGremlins · 05/01/2019 21:25

I can't buy it for a few weeks anyway, still got a balance to pay off on the card Smile

SnugglySnerd · 05/01/2019 21:40

Oops Cag! Grin

AdoraBell · 05/01/2019 22:31

🤣 yes life

Ggreengrass1 · 06/01/2019 06:35

unescorted go you!
meadow how old is dd? Good idea to enjoy when she's settled. None of my dcs liked hats when they were little! Sounds like she likes to be held close in baby carrier etc. that does make doing stuff really hard but hopefully the phase will pass. Hope her meds help. Look after yourselfFlowers
cag I muddle up my kids names and sometimes my youngest gets the dogs name! #unfitmotherConfused
Have a good day, must prise myself out of bed and do stuff...

WreckTangled · 06/01/2019 07:21

I have a surprise baby shower to go to today. Won't know everyone there. Eugh. Will know most people though. Will be a nsd. Need to marinate the chicken for dinner later too and do some housework.

ChristmasSeacow · 06/01/2019 07:45

Still here in the 1980s. Was very happy that prawn cocktail made an appearance last night Smile. I seriously need to detox after this fortnight 🐷

Girlie I might have some coins. I had loads of interesting 50ps but I gave them to a friend at NY - I actually collect the 50ps but had lots of duplicates. I’ll see what we can find though. We defo have lots of forrin coins.

Have things with DH thawed yet Wreck?

That’s amazing Unescorted, I need to do that trick on DH and myself . Totally agree with Girlie and others re. sending stuff to the chazza if it’s not been ebayed. I have started to accept this, need to keep on chugging though! In fact PILs might come to us next Christmas and STAY OVER Shock. That gives me a year to sort the clutter and make sure the spare room looks like a guest room again. I’ll need that year Grin.

I’ve hardly slept - was up till gone 1.30am chatting to FIL and then dd woke me up at 6.15am. And I didn’t sleep much anyway because the mattress is shit and for some reason I got to thinking about DS and all my worries for him Confused. I’ll defo nap in the car on the way home.

On the plus side I finished knitting my addictive scarf yesterday. I’ll post a pic once it’s blocked may take months to get round to it if past experience is anything to go by

Wolfcub · 06/01/2019 07:47

Morning all. Happy frugal Sunday. Ds has contact today so need to drop him off and then make sure I’m ready for work tomorrow and most importantly Tuesday which is my very early start

Not planning on spending anything

lifelongfrugaleer · 06/01/2019 08:11

Hey, footy and dive club today with D's.
Last of the Christmas bits to go away. Washing the festive bedding set now.
Dd is putting her Sylvanian stuff in the attic and dolls house to the local hospital.
Going to get the soft toys into a huge heap and she can go through them. Any ideas on storing eleventy billion soft toys?

Should be a nsd.

Send the boots girlie. Dd is not at dressage yet

Happierwithouthim · 06/01/2019 08:12

Morning everyone Smile
I typed a post last night but lost it

Spends yesterday
€195 (50% of dds Communion dress)
€3.10 mr price on new water bottle for work, ds broke straw on mine & a can of Pepsi max which I didn't drink as I'd already had kong & I don't really do caffeine.
€3.25 in boots on half price brows set, there were many many sets reduced to half price but I didn't buy anything, was thinking of presents during the year & then just bought nothing
€1.60 on newspaper Daily Fail, the magazine in it on sat has completely stopped me buying glossy magazines so it's frugal really.
€8 on one white & one choc protein Nutella from Lidl, friend was going in so it meant this was all I bought Grin

I'm caught up to here but not doing mammoth catch up post this morning

northender · 06/01/2019 08:15

Morning all.
Smiling at the time warp you're in Christmas, prawn cocktail sounds good though!
Studied all day yesterday & need to get cracking again now. I want to go out & get some fresh air later so need a good start now.
NSD yesterday. May have a drink out later with dh if I get on well with essay writing.
Frugal win. I'm old school and still have a clock radio/alarm (it is DAB though!). Last week it just stopped working suddenly. The radio went funny sounding and then it just all went off. Anyway, was planning to replace it, but before that decided to switch it off and on again at the socket & it has come back on, working perfectly.
Have a good Sunday everyone.

MeadowHay · 06/01/2019 08:48

Grass She's 6 and a half months. She does like being in the carrier but even then only if you're properly walking for ages, you can't just wear it and sit down or potter about the house stop-starting tasks and she cries/screams still then...apart from she likes 'helping' DH take the rubbish & bins out for some reason Grin.

Fruglaeer SOft toys in the loft or elsewhere? When I had a lot in my room they were just in the bottom of my wardrobe and then in a little shelf of my new wardrobe when I got bigger and had a big wardrobe. And then mostly in black sacks in the loft after that although some are still in that shelf of my old wardrobe in my parents house, and I have my fave one from when I was little living on top of my wardrobe here Grin. I have sooo much stuff at my parents house that I still need to sort through and get rid of stuff, and move stuff here etc and DM is getting ratty about it now which is sort of understandable but then also sort of sly I think because their house is big so it's not like they're in need of the space and most of it is in the loft out of the way. I do want to sort it out but we still have boxes of stuff from moving house here in our loft to sort through and no time to do it. And our loft is only small (because it's less than the whole space of the upstairs of our house, and then only half of that has flooring, so it's only like a small box room basically) so I can't just move everything from my parents straight into our loft so it's out of their house, I don't think there would be room.

DM said she will have DD for a couple of hours today though so DH and I can blitz some housework/sort stuff to go in the loft/clean out DGuineaPig's cage...we were hoping to do all of that on Friday and Saturday and hardly got any of it done even with us both being at home with her because she's been so awful and there is just an endless list of jobs all the time...we hoped she'd be in bed by 9 last night and then we would have done the guinea pig's cage at least whilst she was in bed but nope we tried to give her bottle at 8pm and she screamed until she fell asleep about 9pm and then we managed to dream feed her the bottle about 9.15pm by which time we were watchign a show and both exhausted so we watched that til 10pm and went to bed. Well, DH did... I ended up stayng up til 11 majorly stressing about my birth injury Sad. I have a gynae appointment in the first week of feb and all I can find is horror stories online. Best case scenario for me is a period of ongoing treatment that will be really painful and stressful for me and worst case scenario is that it can't be fixed at all and then we probably won't be able to have any more children as we won't even be able to conceive them as sex is physically impossible for me. Sorry for the tmi maybe. It is really upsetting me, I have been through so much and the trauma of my birth is just never-ending atm.

Fluffycloudland77 · 06/01/2019 08:54

I quite like the idea of a new bed for you Sneaky We spend 1/3 of our lives asleep so you need to be comfortable. We have always bought the best cotton bedding we could afford, electric blankets, a duvet one size bigger than the bed so you don’t get draughts. We feel it’s a worthwhile thing to spend money on.

I change the bed twice a week, everyone loves fresh sheets don’t they?.
