Sea yes things are getting better thank you.

I love my bed. I agree it's important to have a nice bed and cosy duvet etc.

The spinning class I used to do on a Sunday morning has gone up from £4.50 to £6.90. Wankers.

AutumnLeaves12 · 06/01/2019 09:10

Sorry to hear about the birth trouble meadow. I love that your dd likes putting the bins out.

I descaled my kitchen sink in neat vinegar overnight and it looks very nice this morning. The garden is next I think.

WreckTangled · 06/01/2019 09:13

Meadow sounds like dd likes being outside? Hopefully things will keep improving.

WRT your birth injuries I have a friend who had to have reconstructive surgery after her dc. She had horrendous birth injuries (I won't go into it) but she now has two dc, second born via planned csection.

ememem84 · 06/01/2019 09:23

meadow have you asked about counselling or something re your birth injuries/trauma? Taking to someone may help? Glad you’re getting things sorted though.

Should be nsd today. We’re heading into town for 12 as I’m meeting the gym trainer to discuss things. Dh and ds are going to have a walk around while I have a chat.

I may end up getting some training sessions with her (she’s just meant to be doing my induction but she specialises in pre natal training so may get some sessions...)

Other things to do - laundry. The never ending laundry. And change bedding.

I’m with fluffy fresh sheets are a thing of joy. I don’t change them twice a week though. Every 2 weeks is my limit. I aim for once a week. But haven’t done it this time.

LonelyOversharer · 06/01/2019 09:34

life you need a vaccum storage bag! Poor squished teddies, but a block of teddies is so much more manageable!

Was hoping to nsd, but my Mellow Birds is running out. I am a coffee wuss.

AutumnLeaves12 · 06/01/2019 09:39

Oooo! Mellow birds. I used to see that in the supermarket and always wondered what it was like.

SnugglySnerd · 06/01/2019 09:41

I have started my efforts to shop more ethically by scouring Ebay for some clothes for dd1. I am happy to buy 2nd hand so long as it's good condition and quality that will also last for DD2. Have bid on some really good brands like Frugli. Could never afford them new so fingers crossed!

Wolfcub · 06/01/2019 09:43

I agree with Lonely on the vacuum storage bags for soft toys if dd can’t bear to part with them

Meadow have you been in touch with the birth trauma association?

I need a cuppa so that’s my next job :)

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 06/01/2019 09:44

I love clean sheets but having no where other than the bannister to dry them means they get done fortnightly as well!!

Just waking up here, last day of the holidays 😕 going to a friends dds 4th b day party later and then on for a walk.

Dd realised she had homework late ystd so needs to finish that now as well.

lillylollylandy · 06/01/2019 09:45

Morning all.

Meadow I am not sure if this is something you'd be comfortable doing but it really helped me after my trauma when DD2 was born - I did a debrief with the hospital to talk through what happened, and was then referred for trauma counselling. It really helped me to work through my emotions about the birth and also the debrief helped me to get more information about the specific treatment I needed for my physical injuries.

life vacuum storage bags are great.

Am also staring into the laundry abyss this morning. Am going to distract myself by looking for some nice storage jars for the kitchen. I've got my eye on these Brabantia ones, has anyone seen anything similar for cheaper? www.brabantia.com/uk/kitchen-cooking/food-storage/stackable-jars/stackable-glass-jar-1-9-litre-dark-grey/#more

AutumnLeaves12 · 06/01/2019 10:08

lilly I went to the birth trauma service after ds was born too and it really helped. It had been really on my mind, just as Meadow is saying.

Oddly, although the experience of the birth wasn't changed by talking to the lady, I found that after the discussion, I didn't feel worried by it any more. In fact quite quickly after that, I found that I couldn't remember anything about the birth any more, and the memory of the pain was gone.

I was really glad to have done it.

Happierwithouthim · 06/01/2019 10:14

Thank god em & girlie you didn't say weekly with the bedding I was staying silent Grin

Fluffycloudland77 · 06/01/2019 10:40

I only have the spin dryer and a bannister. I must really like fresh sheets.

AutumnLeaves12 · 06/01/2019 11:54

Half of my kitchen floor is now clean. In spite of being cream coloured. Gosh!

Wolfcub · 06/01/2019 12:35

Ds dropped off. All electronic moveing around and plugging in done. Beef bourginion in the IP.

Have complained to ocado about a bashed box on something that’s supposed to be a present so will see what they say

CurvyInAllTheWrongPlaces · 06/01/2019 12:41

Hi all.
Should only need milk today.
Will be tidying and sorting again today.
lilly, asda had some similar jars and started around £5 I think.

nocutsnobuttsnococonuts · 06/01/2019 12:54

Just signing in! Went out yesterday as had to buy dd school shoes (no longer allowed to wear trainers 😣) they were £7.19 from shoezone, £5.90 on bus fare, £7 in Poundland bought slow cooker liners, my rice cakes I like. £15 in Claire's in their 3 for £5 sale - bought dds friend a birthday present, a few bits for future gifts and a hat for me for work! Even more frugal £12 of that was from a free voucher they sent me in December! £3 in primark buying new gloves as DD's had lost theirs.

Then £20 on eBay as bought a funko pop dd is desperate for to put by as an Easter gift.

All spends written in my budget book.

I'm just tidying up then I'm going to sit with a cuppa and read through the posts and attempt to catch up!

SnugglySnerd · 06/01/2019 13:06

Am doing school work. Dreading having to get up and rush in the morning. Really hate going back after Xmas hols. Grumpy today!

Bornlazy · 06/01/2019 13:06

Just caught up as working last two days and totally knackered. I’m off on AL now so having an easy day today then need to force myself to be more active/productive. I have made a decision to give this a serious go and if no improvement I will visit GP with a view to starting HRT or something as I am so not myself anymore. Things that previously would have been easy now seem so overwhelming.

Meadow congratulations on the PIP award, so sorry you had such a hard time getting it but it must be a massive relief for you. I hope the ranitidine works for dd. Both my ds had reflux and with ds1 all we were given was gaviscon which did nothing and he was hard, hard work. Could cry for hours - it was soul destroying. Then when ds 2 had it we were given ranitidine and he literally became a different baby it was such a relief. I often wonder if I did ds1 would have done the same but he was never given the chance 😨

Autumn my dh earns less than he used to when he had a higher stress level job and for all I sometimes miss the money our family has truly benefited much more from his time than we ever did from the extra cash. I think you will be the same and hopefully, along with your counselling, this will help your mental health.

I was laughing earlier as I have to confess I was wondering why everyone was getting excited about what I thought was a 2” high baking tin and then I finally realised it is a number 2 shaped tin 🤦🏻‍♀️😂

lifelongfrugaleer · 06/01/2019 13:15

The pile of toys is ready to be sorted. Good call on vaccum bags if she won't part. I have Argos vouchers.
£35 on new footy boots on way back from match

LonelyOversharer · 06/01/2019 13:57

Mine will never part life I cannot wait until they are cool adults setting up thier own homes and I turn up with 2 bin bags of teddies and 300 old school exercise books! (each)

Dd1 and I went through to asda, so I kind of did a weekly shop (sans list) £68. £13 of that was on lump of extra special Aberdeen Angus topside. It's in the sc now, and I'm hoping in vain that it might do 2 meals. We very rarely have beef other than mince now. The shop was 100% food, no extra stuff.

Then we spent £23 in Hobbycraft, £7 for me, the rest was dd1 Hmm (who I now give pocket money to, but we have not yet set rules around this sort of spend).

£4.90 on two take away costas.

MeadowHay · 06/01/2019 14:08

I am waiting for an appt with the hospital for my birth debrief but was warned it probably would not be until February some time. And have gynae appt at the same hospital first week of Feb. And am on waiting list for CBT for my anxiety but the service basically told me they can't offer any specific talking therapy for my birth trauma. So I am hoping the debrief will help and hopefully the gynae will be helpful too. I am hopeful that I may not need surgery especially because the GP can't see anything visibly wrong, it's just really awfully painful still (episiotomy site).

DD has been screaming hysterically in the pram for 5 minutes or so now so I should probs get her. She is actually quieting down herself a bit now but sounds very distressed still even though not full-throttle screaming anymore if you know what I mean? Sometimes I feel like I should just leave her as nothing I do helps anyway but then I can't bear the thought of her being alone for hours screaming.

SneakyGremlins · 06/01/2019 14:15
