Cag sorry about dh. Hope he gets seen and sorted soon. Will you be able to manage ok on his reduced income?

I'm ok girlie I'm more worried about the dc who are obviously picking up on it.

Lentil dahl for dinner. My go to cheap, filling and healthy meal.

Need to food shop tomorrow and get fuel.

Unescorted · 04/01/2019 16:15

The 2 tin is packed up waiting for an address... Moi & snuggly are just working out who needs it first.

Happier .. I got round the procrastination of watching Cleaning by doing the ironing at the same time.

Meadow that is really awesome news about your PIP.

I have cleared the bedding and towels chest of drawers. The duvet and sheets the kids used as toddlers are now handy rag size, folded, packed up ready to clean people's poorly bikes. My kids are almost 14 and 17. Why did that take so long. I have also cleared the dumping point of doom .... including bags of washing that were done at my parents when the washer broke while the weather was still warm.

Wreck please can you share your dal recipe?

SnugglySnerd · 04/01/2019 16:17

Thanks for the new thread. The last one filled up quickly!

Massive well done to Meadow! Also good news for Autumn, sounds like it will be a better year for you both. Autumn I get IBS when stressed or when bottling things up so I sympathise. Mine reduced considerably when I took a step back at work.

WreckTangled · 04/01/2019 16:20

Wolf I'm afraid I just make it up. Fry onion then add some spices (cumin, ginger, garam masala, garlic, maybe some chilli) then veg stock and red lentils.

AutumnLeaves12 · 04/01/2019 16:23

Thanks Snuggly. I'm hoping that it will help that ds is older now, and especially that dh and I will have a bit of time together in the next three months. That should be good I hope.

Wolfcub · 04/01/2019 16:35

Wreck I will give it a go. Most of my cooking is making it up Grin

£2.50 birthday card for niece
£2.50 lotto (yes I know but I’d like not to go back to work on Monday)
£1 new savings tin (I buy those you can’t get in without destroying them)
£3.80 on massive naans and brownie from the farm shop

Em if you can’t get nelimed then vicks do a pressurised spray can which is pretty good

MeadowHay · 04/01/2019 16:50

Thanks everyone, you're all lovely, autumn you especially put a big smile on my face Smile. I hope when I am better and stuff in the future then maybe I can volunteer with the welfare rights organisation that helped me and help other people. Because I will not be this unwell for ever I am determined not to be! Angry

I am also on a waiting list for CBT autumn. I was told I would go straight to the top of the list being post-natal and that the wait for an appt was 1 week but that was about 3 weeks ago and still no appt through the post, but I'm too anxious to call them about it Confused. The GP said to call and chase it up but I can't...

Wolf We are veggie but then I was researching formula my research led me to believe that there was no commercially available vegetarian formula anymore and that they all have fish oil in? As far as I can see, Hipp Organic and another one, can't remember which, were indeed vegetarian in the past but have since changed their recipes to also include fish oil. Not related to DD's health but from an ethical standpoint we are gutted about having to give her non-vegetarian formula but we couldn't find an alternative as I couldn't bear to BF any longer with the awful pain I was in and the effects it was having on my MH Sad.

DH is at the GP with her now, probably get ranitidine. Not sure which GP she is seeing, the last one wasn't very sympathetic and is the only not-great GP at the surgery so hopefully it will be a different one. Maybe we should push for a paeds referral idk. I was the same as a baby, if not worse because I used to wake up every couple of hours all night til after I started primary school Shock and I was seen by paeds regularly and nobody could find anything wrong with me, although looking back I'm pretty sure I did have silent reflux at least as a baby as I had all the symptoms but my parents didn't know about it then. She can't sit up herself unsupported yet, no, she is improving but not there yet. She can actually hold herself upright holding on to the coffee table edge now at DM's for a few seconds at a time but can't sit herself Confused. Also we have thought about allergies but she doesn't have the other symptoms that usually come with things like CMPI such as eczema, rash, diarrhea, vomiting, etc. So not convinced it's that either. I do think to some degree some babies just hate being babies. Also possibly she is autistic like me but we won't know til much later down the line, only anecdotal but me and DH's cousin who are both aspies were horrendous screamy babies. Then again a family friend's son is autistic and was a dream quiet baby so maybe there is no link, idk.

Autumn Hope your DH has a nice rest before he starts his new job and that you two can spend some quality time together Smile.

Wolfcub · 04/01/2019 16:57

Oh how annoying Meadow. Ds is 12 so it’s quite some time ago that we used it. Hopefully dh has good luck at the gp.

Fluffycloudland77 · 04/01/2019 16:57

Wolf I had to buy a blank card for my niece, all the niece cards I saw were rubbish.

I’m still not 100% happy with it but she’s got it now.

It’s like the card companies have run out of ideas.

SneakyGremlins · 04/01/2019 17:00

I'm still waiting for a bigger choice than two LGBT cards....

Unescorted · 04/01/2019 17:10

wolf this is an amazing site for curry recipes

Sneaky there is a shop in Manchester that has a good selection of cards. If you have a special occasion I can see if DD can do it every for you. She gets arsey about me asking at times so no guarantee that she will.

Hi all.
My training today was good, I'm now qualified in the "reduction of risk, restraint and restriction". I hope I never have to use it though.

Spends today
£3.14 on lunch
£11 something on some bits I forgot yesterday and a new measuring jug.

Meadow, that is great news, well done Flowers

Justanothermile · 04/01/2019 17:47

Fab news meadow, that's such a relief. I'm really pleased for you. Fingers crossed at the GP for DD.

Cag - bloody crap news about your DH and his back. I fully get the running, it's my release from everything and sometimes everyone - I hope he gets some relief soon. When he's no longer in so much pain, remind him about doing core stability work, such a chore but such a game changer too, let the muscles around his back do their job and take the strain.

wrecked use how you feel about the dc to give you strength. It took me threatening to leave with the dc to get DH to take medication. I don't threaten stuff I won't carry through - both he and the dc know this. I'm worried too. Xx

We've gone away for the night as our supposed Christmas present (until DH bought me other stuff), I've serious bathroom envy #bathroomgoals.

Did 15 miles this morning. Dd is having a few mates over later, DS is being the responsible adult...

Frugaleer just jamming.

Love Layla do great cards but there are expensive and rude😁

Unescorted · 04/01/2019 18:25

Did you delete all their social media accounts before you left jam?

I so cannot be bothered to do anything more today. Dinner needs to be done😑

I think that bathroom is the size of my whole downstairs Blush

AutumnLeaves12 · 04/01/2019 18:33

Meadow I'm glad you liked that.

Have you ever seen the film "Legally Blonde"? I always think of it when you are talking.

For me, the film was about how it's important that society trains lawyers from all walks of life, so that people of all types and in all different circumstances will be able to find lawyers who will be able to understand them and fight for their rights.

There's a bit in the film where the lawyer girl fights for her friend (who has very little money). The friend wants to be able to keep her dog when she breaks up with her husband. It really brought it home to me how much people need a person in their community who understand the law, even if they may not have big money to pay for it, and even if the issues might seem quite small.

I think you could really change the world for a lot of people, as you have very real life experience that a lot of lawyers don't have.

btw that's great that you are looking at CBT. I know what you mean about being afraid to call and ask about it. I signed up two years ago but they called and asked if I really wanted it, and I chickened out and said "no everything's actually fine". It really wasn't. Good luck there. Star

SneakyGremlins · 04/01/2019 18:36

That's the size of my FLAT

Justanothermile · 04/01/2019 18:53

These are the other sides - I'm in serious awe of a bathroom ffs!!

Wolfcub · 04/01/2019 19:01

Jam that’s massive! If I put both my arms out in my bathroom and spin around I’d be touching all the walls.

Unescorted thanks for that the recipes look interesting I will have a go

Tonight’s dinner was a lesson in labelling things in the freezer, what should have been chilli was bolognese and ds suddenly decided he doesn’t like polenta Hmm

SneakyGremlins · 04/01/2019 19:05

My bath has a seat Grin

Unescorted · 04/01/2019 19:09

It is huge.... You could die of hypothermia getting the towel.

DS did that but with onions....who doesn't like onion ?

Ggreengrass1 · 04/01/2019 19:10

meadow well done, that's fantastic. (The process was no doubt a compete nightmare, well done for not giving up.
2 frugal wins today: 3 bras for £3 for dd primark,. And £115 shoes reduced to £15 due to not being exactly the same shade of brown for dh - rectified with polish.

LonelyOversharer · 04/01/2019 19:14

Wow jam that is some space!

Avoided a takeaway tonight, was about 2 minutes off suggesting it. We had a lot of random tins instead soup/ravioli, and the tag end of a tiger bloomer (reduced in asda last night).

I think I am about to climb onto the essential spends only wagon. I have bought enough little fripperies this year already.
