£7 Amazon for some cable trunking

Happierwithouthim · 06/01/2019 19:10

Sneaky have you room in freezer for them? Shock at someone getting bored of cheese toasties it's the stuff my dieting dreams are made of Grin

Seacow your mil does know how to entertain though

Justanothermile · 06/01/2019 20:02

Evening all, another busy day here so no chance at Mumsnetting. Hope all is okay.

Cross country race in the morning, gym in the afternoon and a lot of house stuff and prep for normality tomorrow.

£56 Fuel.
£20 on a bobble hat but bought for a friend that couldn't do the race so that will obviously be coming back.

I'd actually like to come with you next time to your PIL seacow, the food sounds great and the idea of no social media for a few days must be quite cathartic in some respects.

Being outside with good mates unescorted, I'd struggle to top that - what's not to love. I adore club events like the cross country today, the camaraderie is fabulous but your day sounds perfect.

LonelyOversharer · 06/01/2019 20:19

Cross country running is my idea of torture! I bet you had fun though jam

Productive afternoon. 16* (so far) jars of jam, looks to be setting. It tastes dark red. Another 2pts of puree to cook once I've cleaned and sterilized more jars. For £2.30 sugar and £1.25 pectin, a good haul.
*a mix of 1lb and half lb jars.

3 x 500g roasted tomato passatta made. Tastes of summer. Going back into the freezer.

And the roast beef was divine. It's been a while since I've had anything so tasty. We are having the leftovers tomorrow baked into bread rolls, with sweet potato mash and motzarella inside too. Already looking forward to it! Dp will make these. He's the bread maker around here.

Justanothermile · 06/01/2019 20:26

It's a tough league lonely, this race was the 'easiest' so far - with only 800ft of climbing.....

Your food sounds fab, I know I don't eat meat but the beef leftover idea is divine. I think I used too much sugar in my last lot of jam but you live and learn.

ememem84 · 06/01/2019 20:33

Cheese on toast sneaky or a melted cheese sandwich is what you need. Or a rarebit. Or a croque. I love a croque me. Or a Madame. Croque Madame. Mmmmm. With the eggy all drippy. Mmmmmm.

Sunday dinner at dparents. Dm made her famous lasagne and homemade garlic bread and salad. Le yummo. She makes the ragu with either beef and veal or beef and pork. And it is unbelievably fantastic. No idea which it was today. I just scoffed it. And homemade apple and almond cake. With custard.

Ds had one nap today and “helped” me fold his clothes and put them away this afternoon. His help included emptying a drawer then standing in said drawer (is removed it from the dresser) and dancing in it. Also “helping” by taking out each folded T-shirt to look at and then use to rub down the wall...helpful. All folded and back in the drawer though. Yay.

Things are ready for tomorrow. Dh has made lunches. And I’ve got my gym bag ready and everything else ready to go. He’s watching the nfl at present. I’m in bed pretending to read my book.

Bornlazy · 06/01/2019 22:33

Lonely my mouth was actually watering at the sound of those rolls 🤤.

Hope everyone has a good first day back tomorrow. I’ve not actually been off but the kids have so expecting chaos in the morning...

Lsd and NeSD today just toilet rolls at £2.20. We go through a lot of toilet roll 🙄

Happierwithouthim · 06/01/2019 22:36

Lonely we need a pic of these rolls they sound gorgeous.

ememem84 · 06/01/2019 23:30

Agree lonely the bread sounds yum. So it’s like a pre made sandwich? The beef etc inside raw dough then cooked? Sort of like a cross between a Chinese/Vietnamese steamed bun and a sandwich? Either way they sound divine

SneakyGremlins · 06/01/2019 23:36

Think I need to ask the dermatologist to up the dose of my immunosuppressants yet again Sad

CurvyInAllTheWrongPlaces · 07/01/2019 06:31

Morning all!
Hope you all have a good Monday!

Wolfcub · 07/01/2019 06:31

Morning all happy frugal Monday and for those back at work a peaceful day. Been awake for the last three hours after a series of nightmare. Nightmares not work related but no doubt the impending return will have contributed. No plans to spend today

WreckTangled · 07/01/2019 07:17

Sorry about your nightmares wolf I woke up after dreaming my teeth fell out (again)

Boo to Monday

AutumnLeaves12 · 07/01/2019 07:24

Good luck going back Born even though you haven't been off. You're a trouper, working through like that.

I'm going to clean the other half of the kitchen floor today and am descaling the sink again. It has a special talent for getting limescale. Also figuring out what the next set of problems is to solve.

lifelongfrugaleer · 07/01/2019 07:39

You ok sneaky?

Rubbish wolf. Hope today isn't too bad and your get some rest tonight.
In logging in a couple of hours to catch everyone up who has been off. Cinema this afternoon as we are teacher training here. Will be pricy.
Need to go to Argos as have vouchers to spend and require vaccum bags, mantle clock and new clock for dd.

ememem84 · 07/01/2019 07:59

We are ready to leave before 8am. Laundry is in the dryer (wash finished at 630...) gym bag ready lunches packed just need to get dh to put his coat on and we can go. Dparents picked Ds up at 720....

To do today. Scan pt form to gp to get permission to train. Wait for response. Reclaim gp fees from Friday.

Gammon egg and sweet potato fries for dinner. Mmm.

WreckTangled · 07/01/2019 08:09

Oh just remembered in my dream my dad (not actually my dad) was a dentist so I asked him to put my tooth back in he said he would but before he did he cut off my hair Shock

AutumnLeaves12 · 07/01/2019 09:06

That's such classic stuff Wreck. I had similar dreams last night, but they were not repeatable.

Happierwithouthim · 07/01/2019 09:15

ds joined me at 4am, while I'm always happy to see him I've gotten used to sleeping alone, shortly after he cuddled up to me, I said what's that wet thing, he said there's no wet thing that's my blanket, so I'd to swap out blankets as he'd wet his one while in his own bed, mustn't have been much as kylie sheet wasn't wet just his pj bottoms which he'd removed himself before climbing into my bed.

ememem84 · 07/01/2019 10:43

Positivity Monday here. Wooooo

I entered the comp on radio 1 to win tickets to the Super Bowl in Atlanta. Didn’t win. But I tried. Probably just as well they didn’t call me as I know nothing about American football and would have struggled to answer any questions!!!

Bosses wife has just popped in with croissants. Woo.

Cagliostro · 07/01/2019 11:04

Hurrah, DH phoned the rheumatologist dept and got a cancellation for Thursday!!! That’s over a month earlier than the original appt.

My cloth san pro arrived. It’s so cool! But Rowan thinks they are hats.

lifelongfrugaleer · 07/01/2019 11:38

That's great cag. Always worth a phone call. San pro hats Grin

Thatsnotmybaby · 07/01/2019 11:43

That's great @Cagliostro. It's bad for the system that so many people are so laissez-faire about canceling appointments, but the big plus is being able to get a cancellation when you really need it.

Yesterday was NSD.

Spends today:
£130 balance purchase of new blind and repair of old ones.

ChristmasSeacow · 07/01/2019 12:22

It’s a bit of s rude awakening getting back to normal today! I’m supposed to be wfh today but am quite distracted by trying to finish unpacking /putting Christmas stuff away... so it’s not going very well! I’ll have to make some time up tomorrow (my non-working day) while DD naps.

Also getting back to the diet and healthy eating. My sugar cravings have resurrected themselves after a couple of weeks of chocolate, so I need to knock that on the head. I am about 7-10lbs off fitting nicely into a dress that I was hoping to wear to a wedding in 3 weeks. So it’s touch and go, I hope I don’t need a panicked shopping trip!

Frugal fail. I was trying to wrestle the box with the leftover Xmas wrapping paper rolls back into the cupboard in the spare room and I found boxes marked 18-24 and 2-3 squished into a corner hidden behind some winter coats which are too small for me . On inspection they turned out to be boxes with DS’s old stuff saved for dd. In particular, vests. Which, since I couldn’t find at all, I bought new just after Christmas. And have already unwrapped and washed so can’t return. Grr. £25 unnecessary spend. I’ve stuck DS’s old ones (still lovely and white) in the giant box of clothes for MiniMeadow. I managed to get the box into the car, with help, so the spare room looks a bit clearer. Apart from the boxes of Christmas decs which we still need to get into the loft. Hopefully tomorrow evening when DH and I are both in.

Getting there slowly...

Cag hats 😂😂😂

Sneaky you okay?
