Now that I've put that in the title, we will almost certainly get snow. LOL!

Welcome to nearly-August.

Ha we miss pronounced loads of words when the DC were smaller.

Dh is taking the DC to a theme park today. Without a pic nic. The horror!!

I'm taking some stuff back to primark.

BestFootForwardAndThenSome · 31/07/2018 06:33

That sounds really fun Snuggly. It sounds as though I should be doing more of this. Maybe there would be less shouting then.

Our toothbrushing song goes "Hey there [insert cute name], I bring to you this toothbrush, I bring it for your pleasure and ed-i-fi-cat-tion"

It's just a made up tune. I suppose it's not really surprising that ds correct me constantly if I sing him songs like that.

It's raining here. Yay!

Lonely 2.7 years is really good.

My cheap wilko paint should arrive today. If its raining next week we can paint the hallways and stairs & change all the sockets/switches.

Cagliostro · 31/07/2018 07:54

I forgot wilko can be ordered online. I have so much to buy from them still I should probably do that! Bit daft dragging it all back on the bus if I don't have to.

We are definitely going to change at least our light switch (for the dimmer) and but I forgot we could change socket things too... Do you think it'd be easy to fit the ones with USB sockets as well? I'd bloody love that.

Loveabaconsandwich · 31/07/2018 07:57

2.7 years is good lonely

I think we paid slightly more than that for CP for this weekend and that was only 4 of us. We easily spent £200 whilst there but we ate out a lot. The spending really adds up. The fridge where we stayed is not big so you can only take so much with you

Cagliostro · 31/07/2018 08:03

I love hearing about everyone's funny traditions. We have a few like if you're being tickled instead of saying stop you have to say peanuts (that's from Black Books) and any weird "I was just going to say that" type coincidences are met with not a high five but a "wibbly wobbly five" which is from Robbie the Reindeer. We've been doing the latter since before DD1 was even born Blush

:o at M A N G O. Although now I'm annoyed as I ordered loads of fruit to make a fruit salad for our picnic today and I totally forgot mango. Dammit.

It's our "no housework or unpacking" having family fun in the house day today. We promised the kids as we have all been working so hard with the move, especially with cleaning the old house last week (it had honestly never been so clean). So we are just going to play games and enjoy cooking and stuff.

Problem is I've been awake with the baby for a while and I'm reeeeally itching to do some more unpacking and cleaning Blush :o

Fluffycloudland77 · 31/07/2018 08:04

Cag There will be a YouTube video on it somewhere. You just need to check it's the right voltage for what you want to charge. Or so dh tells me. Before I had the amazon vouchers I used a company called electrical counter for switches etc.

Cagliostro · 31/07/2018 08:15

That's good thanks. It can wait until we have wifi to watch videos. I think we would still need to keep some charger plugs though as my iPad can be a bit fussy if it doesn't have the proper plug.

Tesco shop arriving later. We may go to the cinema with clubcard vouchers but not sure!

ScandiLady · 31/07/2018 08:54

We skipped the beach and is now on the way to safari. We have annual cards and always bring picnic with us so think it still be cheap. Tonight ill make lasagne with feta salad Smile

ChristmasSeacow · 31/07/2018 09:03

Cag what carrier do you have? We’ve come away without one (I have an Ergo but not front facing so dd is not keen) and it’s really limiting us walking through woodlands etc with the buggy. I am thinking about putting in an emergency order.

Lonely 2.7 years is brilliant. I’d go for it. £900 a month to stand still is crippling .

Scandi 3 languages - that’s cool! We don’t do baby talk here either but we do have silly songs. And nicknames.

Off to Glen Affric today for a scenic picnic. We had a fabulous day yesterday. We tried to go to the local castle in the morning but there was literally no available parking - and the alternatives were too far for DS to walk (at least 1.5 miles each way - and with his hypermobility he is slow). So we went home, mooched around for a bit and went back at 4pm after a boat trip on a Loch Ness. It was much less busy and the evening light was stunning. This is a view of the castle but the views fromfrom the castle were just as stunning. It’s so beautiful round here, I highly recommend it

Christmas I've been there and I remember it so clearly from just exactly that spot. How funny! I think I was about 14 at the time, so it would have been 30 years ago. That's great that you are enjoying it.

Cagliostro · 31/07/2018 10:51

I have a tula seacow it cost me £70 and that was half price!😱 Can't tell you about forward facing though as I don't do it, I have had her facing me but hope to learn to wear her on my back.

HA are coming this afternoon to collect all the stuff the previous tenant left in the attic. It's part of the tenancy agreement not to use said attic. But there's all manner of crap up there!

ememem84 · 31/07/2018 11:43

Off to collect fob for car parking space in a bit. Have set payments of deposit and first months rent to clear tomorrow. Dh said to just send money now. But I’m wary so have set the payments up and have printed the evidence so I can show the guy.

Eeeek.

Thatsnotmybookworm · 31/07/2018 11:56

Looks fab @ChristmasSeacow.

Spends today £83 on make up; I seem to be running out of all my essentials at once, and I'm nervous enough about going back to work soon after maternity leave; I'm not going back without my game face on Smile.

Flappyjack · 31/07/2018 12:39

LOL at game face bookworm.

Food shopping £66.04 today. I am cooking chicken in salsa for lunch with rice, blackbeans and sweetcorn. Found some fresh jalapeno and spicy cream cheese poppers reduced to half price. Also nabbed some reduced strawberries, blackberries and raspberries for fruit kebabs for dessert.

New contigo coffee mug £12.00. Bought one for DH for fathers day and it keeps drinks hot for ages.

Chilled day today because we are all worn out from the holiday.

SneakyGremlins · 31/07/2018 13:44

I feel stupid.

Turns out my favourite mobile game lets you watch ads for premium currency.

Doh! must stop buying it then

Bornlazy · 31/07/2018 13:46

Looks lovely sea. Despite living in Scotland all my life I have never been to Inverness (or lots of other places Blush)

ememem84 · 31/07/2018 13:48

bookworm too right re game face. It’s important.

I made sure I was looking like the best me I could be on my first day back. I felt so nervous. Which was crazy as it was the same job same people etc. But change. I’m not good with change.

Car park sorted. Yay. So we have a secure under cover space now. Yippee.

BestFootForwardAndThenSome · 31/07/2018 13:53

Born which part do you live in roughly, if you can say without outing yourself? I grew up west of Glasgow.

OP posts:
ScandiLady · 31/07/2018 14:01

sea i used to live close to Inverness. Absolutely love the area. Safari was nice as usual, spent around 11£ on ice cream and a amulet to dd.

Fluffycloudland77 · 31/07/2018 14:31

fyf20quid.co.uk Feed you family for £20 a week. It's mostly cook from scratch to save money.

Cagliostro · 31/07/2018 15:19

We just had the housing association voids team round, clearing the attic! It's part of the tenancy agreement not to use it, and yet they emptied this much and more (extra furniture suitcases bedding etc after this photo... Plus a big transformer toy they let DS keep :o) so clearly the previous tenant gave no fucks about the rules. I half thought they'd find Shergar up there.

BestFootForwardAndThenSome · 31/07/2018 15:21

Oh my goodness Cag! That's hilarious about shergar. I wouldn't be surprised at all.

OP posts:
ChristmasSeacow · 31/07/2018 15:46

😂 Shergar

So many of you lucky people living in Scotland! During my childhood we lived in the outer Hebrides for a bit and also Aberdeen. I have very fond memories of both, though sadly we didn’t get out and about much. I’d love to live here now, in theory... though I don’t think we’d ever do it because we have all of our family and friends in the SE. And jobs, come to that.

Agree you defo need your game face Bookworm. Feeling good really helps.

I’ve heard good things about Tula Cag. How did you get one half price?! I think I’ll just get my mum to bring the Ergo to Orkney next week when she joins us. We’ll have to manage without for a while, it won’t kill us! DH carried dd on his shoulders for a bit today when it was too uneven for the buggy. It’s okay until she wriggles...

We are back from Glen Affric. There are quite a few different areas to explore but the couple of bits we went to were very beautiful indeed. We had a lovely walk along the river and then up a hill to a viewpoint (less lovely because the dc were getting hungry and fractious by then!). We then had a picnic lunch right by the river... lovely till the wind dropped and the midges arrived! I had some midge patches which I slapped on us all; now we all smell overwhelmingly of citronella. We did another stop after that but then came back because DS was visibly tired after all the walking and it was starting to rain. We’ve now got a bit of afternoon to relax. DS is lying on me so I can’t make the tea. I have mentioned this to DH... Grin

NSD apart from £58 to fill up the car. Oh, and £2 parking. It’s only the third time we’ve filled the car on this trip so not too bad, all told.

ScandiLady · 31/07/2018 15:51

cag sorry for asking but what is ha? And how do you add pics?
Earned in 2 days 50£ selling stuff trough the store so dh and me are having a looktrough the girls styff again...
