Your shop sound great Scandi, wish there was something like that here. We have pop-up things like NCT nearly new markets but they’re a bit of a faff to do.

Pic of the glen... Just because!

I have an exam coming up and usually study in a coffee shops with 2 others, so I've been there three days already this week and we're meetin their tomorrow. xD I managed not to order anything the first day but I've discovered their iced coffee which is amazing but £2.10, I stayed later today so also grabbed a a sandwich. Total spend so far: £6.32. The day before we went to a burger bar for dinner. £8.89. And just a top up shop at the supermarket = 13.03.

Em you deserve that chocolate!

LonelyOversharer · 31/07/2018 17:51

Home from work, had a spilly day today. My finger nails are blue until further notice (and not in a pretty way).

My yarn hoard has arrived. I am so so pleased with it. The cotton yarns are excellent quality.

The glen is picture is beautiful!

ChristmasSeacow · 31/07/2018 18:06

Ooh that’s lush *Lonely. I didn’t even see Drops Paris Sad. Which shade of purple and teal /turquoise sre they? Mustn’t look up patterns, oh no.

My yarn will have been delivered to my
Mum. I did consider asking her to bring some to Orkney next week but as she’s probably bringing a tiny suitcase stuffed with my baby carrier I’d better not! Also this cable knit dress will take me longer than this holiday to finish, I think. I’m average speed but don't get long stretches of time to do it. Only really 1-2 hours in the evening. It’s such a pretty pattern though. If she refuses to wear it I will literally keep the dress and get rid of dd instead Grin

nocutsnobuttsnococonuts · 31/07/2018 18:33

I have been really busy and hectic so fell off the thread a few months ago and kept meaning to catch up but the threads were so long and I wasn't very good at being frugal.

Am back and need to reign in the spending and save some money! There's me, dh, 2 dds 9 and 6, and 2 cats.

Today dds went to holiday club was only £25 for both for 9-330. I spent the day ebaying and cleaning so was well worth it! They loved it and want to go again so have booked another day at the end of the holidays, debating another day too as they really loved it.

In last 2 weeks have made £125 on eBay with more with bids on things ending tomorrow. Currently have 78 things listed, got tonnes more to do. (Have given myself till end of August what hasn't sold is being charity shopped) Once these are listed will sort out dds and my clothes, toys and see if anything else can be listed.

Right off to try and catch up on the thread 😁

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 31/07/2018 18:37

Afternoon all, lovely pics seacow glad it's going well so far.

I'm very very tired, work was stupidly busy and I've got a headache 😣 Nsd though.

LonelyOversharer · 31/07/2018 18:58

seacow the colour on my tablet is crap, so heres a pic using my phone camera! They are called exotic names like dark purple, medium purple! The dark teal is petrol. I am not enabling you understand, but they are clear colour, soft cotton aran. I'm about to cast on the cotton light to start my jacket. A size smaller than I made it in the 90's!

BestFootForwardAndThenSome · 31/07/2018 19:16

My interesting test showed that I have a virus, so I'm staying camped out under the duvet. If any of you can send health-giving vibes, I'd be most grateful. Smile

I think I'm on course for an actual NSD today.

The wool looks amazing. I'd love to see what you make with it. I don't think I could knit a whole jumped and I'm in awe of those who can.

CurlsandCurves · 31/07/2018 20:12

Hi all, cheap day here, just £3 spent.

We’ve made a bit of a decision regarding our finances ( I think). Long story short DH is self employed but 2 years ago we took a huge financial hit when he partially moved into training people at a college. Until he had got all his assessing qualifications his pay was about half the day rate he was used to, and despite taking on extra work around his days at college we struggled. And again despite our efforts to claw back to where we were now he’s qualified and earning well again, it’s an impossible task. So we are almost mortgage free and have decided to delay that by about 3 years and borrow a bit to get us back on track. It’s not that we are in debt anywhere, it’s just that even now the business overdraft is paid off, we’ve got no contingency, no savings and that’s a scary place to be if you’re SE. Frugality will still be our main aim, and in the next year I intend for us to to make the most of having this peace of mind and really get ahead of ourselves again. Our bathroom is 20 years old and desperately needs replacing so our goal is to be able to do that this time next year and still be comfortable.

I feel loads better knowing we’ve got a plan in place. We’ve been sailing too close to the wind for too long now. Rang the bank today and in theory they say it’s fine. Got an appointment next week...

SnugglySnerd · 31/07/2018 20:26

That looks so beautiful Sea.

Spendy day: £15 in Boots on Calpol (own brand type) a nit comb and 2 huge bottles of conditioner.
£10 in M&S on sandwiches because we were starving after 3 hours mortgage meeting and beer because we spotted a favourite Belgian brand that is hard to find here.

2 hours yes TWO HOURS spent combing nits out of the hair of 3 dcs and then my own. I have never had nits until now. Little gits.

Good news though. Bank agreed that we can extend our mortgage term to reduce monthly costs. While we were there we updated our life insurance now that we have 3 dependant instead of just one. That means it costs a but more than before but overall we'll be paying about £100 less each month. Fixed rate for 3 years by which time dts will start school and we can remortgage again and reduce the term back down.

Feel a bit happier that we can stay in the black and have a little left over for emergencies or occasional days out.

Sending healthy vibes your way Sunny!

lifelongfrugaleer · 31/07/2018 20:55

£5.50 refund in primark, £40 in peacocks on holiday clothes but we are done. And even if we are not, we are.

lifelongfrugaleer · 31/07/2018 21:02

Those colours are lovely lonely, exactly my faves. I need to learn to knit again.

Good news on those doing debt Reduction/ consolation.

Ah wolf, soon be home. It's tough on your own. Does DS have contact so you get an hour or so break when you get back

I'm off to London village tomorrow, near West minster Abbey. Coming back first class , yeah.

lifelongfrugaleer · 31/07/2018 21:03

Nice views.
I think I've been to that Scottish castle, or certainly the layby above or if it's the one in thinking

Wolfcub · 31/07/2018 21:09

Life are you QECing or 2MSing by any chance

Wolfcub · 31/07/2018 21:10

I can’t believe you can travel first class, I need to move depts. we can’t even travel first class now if it’s cheaper than standard!

ememem84 · 31/07/2018 21:13

£43 coop shop. That’s the food for a week. Breakfast lunch and dinner taken care of.

My charity shop bag is full and I’ve ditched a bra today. So will take the bag to the shop tomorrow.

Ds did so well at nursery. He crawled and crawled and crawled. Then came home and crawled some more. So proud of him. 😍

Tomorrow I need to buy milk for ds. As I forgot today. Then forgot at the shop. Will pop into boots on my lunch break. I like going to the “big” boots (three floors) but generally find that I spend more money browsing. Must be careful not to.

Had a meeting tonight about out building and the fire cert works. Finally, finally a decision was made. So tomorrow morning I can let our lawyer know and we can crack on with the move.

I told Dm. And she was happy but has asked us not to move in until their bathroom is finished. Which is fair enough. It was meant to be this week but probably will be the week after. I see us moving on dh’s birthday. And us not being able to go on holiday. But I haven’t booked anything yet. Other than the time off work.

lifelongfrugaleer · 31/07/2018 21:20

Sorry wolf don't get it PM me.
Oh I might be in for a bollocking then add I just picked it cos it was cheaper than standard. Didn't check the policy.

lifelongfrugaleer · 31/07/2018 21:21

Oops. I will play the newbie card. Add I am still a newbie.
