Thanks wolf I'm very happy with it & frame for only €9 was a bargain

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 21/06/2018 21:34

That's really lovely mammy

I'm knackered, work was ridiculous today so busy! Anyway did what I could and am off now for three days, thank god.

Managed a Nsd though, mum has given me some money so I can do a food shop tomos!!

lifelongfrugaleer · 22/06/2018 06:01

That's lovely Mammy.

Fluffycloudland77 · 22/06/2018 07:17

I’m seriously considering getting an nus card so I can use the 20% off in superdrug. I buy most of my cosmetics, sunblocks, shampoo etc in there.

It would be £16, £4 for an e learning course & £12 for the card itself.

QuiteCleanBandit · 22/06/2018 07:20

Love thatmammy
Fluffy love those frugal links, have had a good read Grin
Hmmm time to get back to being super frugal as I got the final bill for our old energy supplier -fucksticks! £350
I forgot they would do that Sad
Will be cheaper in the end.
Ive watered down the Method and washing up liquid Grin I wonder if DH will notice.
Im going to buy dishwasher powder, loorolls -will squash them.I had totally forgotten that tip and 99p toothpaste from Home Bargains.
Hope everyone is ok.I had some awful news yesterday -not my family but ya know ... Sad

ememem84 · 22/06/2018 07:27

Feeling awful today. Sore throat and headache. I’d take the day but have appointments at lunchtime and a meeting this afternoon I can’t move. Sigh. Plus I didn’t sleep well at all. Double sigh.

Anyway. Onwards we go. I’ve asked dh to sleep in with ds tonight so I can maybe try and get a full nights sleep.

Today’s outfit to cheer me up - purple jeans, leopard top, gold tipped espadrilles.

lifelongfrugaleer · 22/06/2018 07:54

That's how dds head cold started em

LonelyOversharer · 22/06/2018 08:05

My first day was good. I didn't do a whole lot, lots of observing etc. Everyone seems nice, but it looks like I'm taking over booking in orders and final invoicing on tuesday eek! It will all be fine, I'm sure.

Spent £10 last night in sainsburys as dd2's form tutor is off the the ver posh private school, so she wanted to take her a cake.

mammy thats great, well done. I love a bit of cross stitch, rarely get them finished though!

meadow congratulations! Just remember you have done a very amazing thing, take it easy on yourself.

em hope your poorly eases as the day goes on.

We shall see what today brings.

Fluffycloudland77 · 22/06/2018 08:25

The dishwaßher powder thing only worked with Tesco daisy powder because it was £5 for 3kg. They discontinued it and the others are all much more expensive.

Half a dw tablet is cheaper now.

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 22/06/2018 08:35

Day off woo hoo!!

Plan go for a run, tidy up and spend some time in the garden. Need to pop to aldi at some point with a list....

ememem84 · 22/06/2018 08:38

I’m hoping it doesn’t turn into anything....

Will try and get a good sleep tonight. Am drinking loads of water today. No alcohol. Minimal caffeine (although that could be causing the headache.....) blah blah blah

SnugglySnerd · 22/06/2018 08:44

That's lovely Mammy . I need/want to do a preschool gift but it won't be that good!

Hope you feel better soon Em.

WitchMoon · 22/06/2018 09:27

That's a really nice gift Mammy

em the type of debt we are currently paying off is a loans at home loan from last Xmas. £600 loan, over £1000 being paid back. I will never get another one!

I'm putting money aside whenever I can because I have uniform to buy in September and Christmas to think about.

QuiteCleanBandit · 22/06/2018 09:42

Have had words with DH
He will not shower at work so showers before he goes and when he gets home Hmm
I shower daily at the gym
He has free showers with shampoo/shower gel dispensers as well - wont use them -aaaargh he is really annoying !
We could turn the hot water off !

QuiteCleanBandit · 22/06/2018 09:46

Oh no Cag
I tried that with DD -she spat it out and looked at me like I was mad !Grin

Cagliostro · 22/06/2018 09:53

I’m expecting the same TBH. Or she will just chew it. But worth a shot I suppose.

DD1 had one from tiny but was also mix fed so used to bottle teats, she had given it up by this age (8 months on Monday!) BUT had discovered sucking her fingers which was worse really as she kept doing that until about 6.

EBF DS never had one at all - I’m trying to think if he was sleeping better by this age, I have a feeling he wasn’t, but I must have coped with the broken nights better (I wasn’t ill then, or home edding two autistic kids 😂)

Can I pick your brains please? I need to plan meals for next week with as little shopping as possible but we've almost run our cupboards and freezer down. We have a lot of potatoes for some reason and some onions and peppers. Lots of lentils. Only 1 tin of tomatoes left. We have garlic, pasta and rice.
So far I'm thinking that if I buy some cheese we can have lentil bolognaise one night and then make cheese sauce to convert it into lasagne another night. Also macaroni cheese one night. Will buy eggs so can do frittata one night. I could also do a risotto with peppers and frozen peas. We'll have jacket potatoes one day for either tea or lunch. That's 4 meals. I need 3 more teas plus a couple of lunches for my days off when we're all at home. I think I'll buy some salad to go with the frittata/jps.

QuiteCleanBandit · 22/06/2018 10:36

Egg fried rice ?
Add peas ,onion and 1 egg ?
Beans on toast -boring but 1 tin between you all plus a grate of cheese.
Vat of soup for lunch ?

WitchMoon · 22/06/2018 10:56

I've never had homemade egg fried rice. I'm curious now!

QuiteCleanBandit · 22/06/2018 11:06

Really easy Witch
Leftover cooked rice (fridge as soon as cool) or a packet 42p Aldi if you have none leftover .
Fry chopped onion, add rice to pan and coat with oil, cook for a few minutes until hot ,whisk egg and chuck in ,stir until cooked, add some frozen peas /frozen veg ,cook until hot .
Boring but easy

QuiteCleanBandit · 22/06/2018 11:07

DC loved this when little when tired and hungry after swimming #happy days

WitchMoon · 22/06/2018 11:09

Ooo it sounds really easy too. Thanks Smile

QuiteCleanBandit · 22/06/2018 11:13

Have done the maths.
Actually not too broke after all.
All bills, food and fixed spendsplus savings accounted for and have a fairly okish cash sum leftover .
Need to get petrol but thats topping up half a tank.
Havent even used a full tank of petrol this monthSmile
2 charity bags have just come through the door -use for recycling bin
Ocado and Fetch -everything purchased was on offer including lots of favorites.
Shopping bags all had holes in Hmm
So whipped my shopping out and handed straight back Grin
Will check final bill as £1.10 due back ,woohoo !
