Cag
How old is DD ?
Mine went into her own room at 9 months as got fed up with all the wriggling, snoring and constant BF in the night .
I BF all 3 of mine until 2 but not all night .
The minute I did that she started sleeping through unless ill.
She was irritable and so was I and she was much more settled .
Brew tiredness is the worst

ememem84 · 22/06/2018 11:23

Ds went into his own room at 11 weeks. He outgrew his Moses basket....#chunk

He snores like a piggy though! Never knew babies were such noisy sleepers!!!!

mammynowanauntyIRL · 22/06/2018 12:40

If you've soy sauce put that into egg fried rice

Yorkshire puddings are a great filler

mammynowanauntyIRL · 22/06/2018 12:49

€12 on deli lunch for me and my friend & a 6 pack of dale farm Cornettos

Had ds's graduation so proud of my little man

Wolfcub · 22/06/2018 14:04

Em hope it doesn’t turn into a full blown cold
£6 breakfast with friend £6 hone bargains for milk and toiletries for school trip
School trip packing done
Massive pile of ds’s clothes put in bag to take to charity shop later. Contemplated selling but I’ve had no bites from the things I put on last week and I just want this out of my house.
I have done no cleaning today, it is desperately needed and i am having nails done in an hour and a half. Must do bathroom before then
Bought Haribo (65p home bargains) to share with ds over the weekend. Haribo are my weakness. There will be none left for weekend Blush

Wolfcub · 22/06/2018 14:08

Snuggly do you have enough lentils for bolognese and a lentil shepherds pie with a thick mash top if you have lots of potatoes?

Do you have flour and butter or suet? If you can run to some leeks you could have leek Cheese and potato pie or pasties.

Cagliostro · 22/06/2018 14:09

Well I bought a dummy. Frugal win, the pack of 2 was about £6 but went through the till at £1.25. She tried it. Chewed it, played with it and laughed at it. Hmm But when feeding I did sneakily replace my boob with it 😂 and then she actually used it briefly, so it may possibly work. She didn’t hate it anyway so that’s the main thing

ememem84 · 22/06/2018 14:38

We’ve used dummies since day one. Despite me being adamant we weren’t going to. I want to try and wean ds off it but think it’ll cause me too much anxiety at present. And they’re great for shoving in the freezer to help him with his teeth.

I’m feeling rotten. Managed half a sandwich at lunchtime. Which isn’t like me at all. But in the plus side I’ve had my nails done £39.50.

And a donut.

Counting down the hours now.....

Laudanums what you need for babies who can't sleep. Frowned upon though.

Snuggly I think your going to have to start stockpiling the cheap food offers on topcashback & checkoutsmart, shopmium etc to get you through these lean weeks. It's not what you would have ever thought you'd have to do when you were training but having twins is extenuating circumstances.

If you combine the offers with smart price stuff it's really cheap e.g. I got 10p packs of spaghetti, 15p tins of beans last week. This week it's long grain rice for 25p, tinned peas for 5p, tinned spaghetti hoops for 3p. You'd both need an account but if your passing supermarkets anyway you might as well stop and get what you need.

Cagliostro · 22/06/2018 15:10

I really wish we had introduced one earlier TBH. DS never needed one, but I’ve been considering buying one for a few months and I wish I’d just done it straight away. I had been thinking I’ll see how it goes once we’ve moved, as more space for the cot (she is literally right by the bed and it’s a PITA taking her in and out without being able to set foot on the floor - certainly strengthening my core muscles 🙄) but now even though that is mere weeks away I don’t want to wait anymore, last night was just horrible and I thought, I’m done! I don’t want to stop BF as I love it during the day, so I need another option. The other choice is maybe trying to express and either giving her that as a last feed before bed, or DH offering her that if she wakes in the night maybe. But it just feels like more faff.

I really hoped she would sleep better now she is using so much energy in the day. She is wearing me out rather than herself though. 🤔

Oh and I may have figured out what to use that long narrow cupboard for. We have two tall Ikea trofast units that I wasn’t sure what to do with as they are too tall for the kids to have easy access. But as they aren’t as deep as kallax they will fit better in that space. So I’m thinking maybe at least one could go in there for stuff like shoes at the bottom (if I get the deeper buckets) which would save having to buy shoe storage, and then lesser used things like gloves scarves etc at the top maybe? I think we will also put coat hooks in there. If I could get fairly narrow wheeled boxes for stuff like Christmas decorations that’d be ideal, as then they could go right at the back. We are definitely taking the shelves off as they are placed really awkwardly. Argh so much to think about!

ememem84 · 22/06/2018 15:30

fluffy 😯 yep that stuff would do it...!!

Hour and half to go. We can do this.

Wolfcub · 22/06/2018 16:28

£20 nails. Dropped bag at charity shop but forgot it so had to detour back home to collect it first doh!

Loveabaconsandwich · 22/06/2018 16:35

I hope you aren't getting the cold/bad hay fever/not sure what it is thing em. Still suffering here with it and had yesterday off work, but I was a trooper and went into work today still rough on my birthday. Mainly to take in cake.

DD2 is a really bad thumb sucker. I wish she had a dummy instead as eventually you can just get rid.

£3 on a meal deal
£27 Ocado (I had a £15 off voucher)
Think I will have to go to Tesco in a bit to get some picnic bits for tomorrow though

ememem84 · 22/06/2018 16:37

Chocolate brownie has sustained me for the moment.

Haha.

Fluffycloudland77 · 22/06/2018 16:42

cag sounds like a plan. It could be a leaving the house/storing stuff area.

NSD £5 of nectar points claimed & I cut open a 1.5l bottle to use as a water saving device in the loo downstairs. It should save at least 1ltr of water per flush.

Shoeaholics refunded me £23.20. Hermes lost the parcel wonder if they checked ebay and I emailed the ceo of Hermes to ask for them to look for it otherwise shoeaholics weren't going to refund me till a week on Monday.

Wolfcub · 22/06/2018 16:49

Love happy birthday Flowers

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 22/06/2018 16:50

I never really got why people frown on dummys, I'm not keen on kids over 2yo having them but for babies why wouldn't you?! I would have thrown dd out of a window without them for sure 😉 she gave them up really easily at about 18 months.

It's a gorgeous day, I'm lying out on my new lounger chair in the garden, bliss!

Spent £34 in aldi, happy enough with that as got loads and stuck to a list.
£1 on a hanging basket from a reuse shop.

snuggly have you tried going to one of the supermarkets in the evening and trying your luck with the yellow stickers? You can get quite a lot of food for a few pence if you're lucky...

I'm going to get baking this wend, will make some bread and a cake of some sort.

Fluffycloudland77 · 22/06/2018 17:06

Happy Birthday Love Flowers

lifelongfrugaleer · 22/06/2018 17:08

Happy birthday love

Dd refused bottle and dummy, bollocks was DS bring the same. They serve a purpose.

SnugglySnerd · 22/06/2018 17:08

Thanks for all the suggestions. Lentil shepherds pie will go down well!

Going to buy: salad, fruit, yoghurt, eggs, cheese and oats plus nappies and loo roll. Then I think we can manage on what we have.

Looking forward to when our runner beans, courgettes and tomatoes are ready in the garden!

ememem84 · 22/06/2018 17:21

And I’m free!! Today was a struggle.

I’m still feeling yuk. But stopped by M&S and bought us a pizza and some crisps for dinner. £7.20

Waiting in the car now for dh. He’s goig to have to drive home. I feel like I’m about to fall asleep!

Wolfcub · 22/06/2018 17:39

Missed your food post snuggly, do you have enough ideas now?

Cagliostro · 22/06/2018 20:38

Just popping on, does anyone have a prepay meter and do you think we can just use the remaining electric on it straight away? The cleaners will obviously need it but I don’t know how long it’ll take to sort out them taking the prepay away.
