Glad to hear you are on the mend laska, enjoy your holiday and so pleased that your DS has found some work

SnugglySnerd · 21/06/2018 07:07

Congratulations Meadow! Enjoy your beautiful baby girl.

lifelongfrugaleer · 21/06/2018 07:44

Got more time now

Good luck lonely, you will be ace
Hey laksa, happy holidays and hope you carry on getting well

Meadow you might not feel it now but when your are strong enough defo ask for a debrief. The world is full of "perfect" births in the media when in reality it's not that easy at all. Have a go at bf, your midwife should know of any local support groups. If it doest work that's ok too.

ChristmasSeacow · 21/06/2018 08:13

Yes Meadow - if your birthing unit doesn’t advertise it as a service just ask PALs. I am sure they would facilitate if you wanted to discuss it anytime. It doesn’t have to be soon after either, whenever (and if ever) you are ready. I hope you’ve had a good night, they can seem very long at this stage before feeding is easy.

Hey Laska I was thinking you'd been quiet. Great news about DS, any work is better then none as it helps with confidence as well as money. Hope you recover fully and have a great trip.

I conked out and went to bed at 9.30pm. That is unheard of for me as we only get DS to bed around 8.15 and then we eat. But I felt awful, I think I was just knackered. Was up in the night with DS (nightmares) but still feeling much better today.

Today- preparation for DS’s meeting tomorrow and some cake decoration bits that I need to make ahead so they can dry /set. Oven mending people are coming 4-6pm, so right in the middle of kids’ dinner. That’s be chaos then, but at least it will be fixed, fingers crossed!

It’s cooler here today, very welcome as it’s been so muggy. 27C in London next week Shock

Wolfcub · 21/06/2018 08:52

Laska that’s good news about ds, hopefully he can find something more permanent in that time. I will keep my fingers crossed for him. Have a fantastic holiday, three weeks away sounds great to me

Laska5772 · 21/06/2018 09:05

Yes its with Liz Earle who are based here and a great company to work for (and not only because he gets a free goody box of LE products every week , which of course will be coming to me because he loves his mum!). So hopefully there may be more prospects if he does ok especially as they were impressed that he has warehousing qualifications and a Reach truck (like a forklift) license which he didn't need for the advertised job, .

I am all done and just waiting for the taxi in a couple of hours ...am treating my self to one as really feel I couldn't do the 2 buses i'd need to get right now..

ememem84 · 21/06/2018 09:30

Woohoo payday!

lifelongfrugaleer · 21/06/2018 11:47

Hopefully the temp job will become something more permanent then laksa. Are your going to the same place in Greece as last time?

ememem84 · 21/06/2018 12:59

Spends £32 in joules on sale stuff for ds. A new winter coat (same as he had last year just bigger size!) some shorties and some cute tshirts.

ememem84 · 21/06/2018 15:14

witch ✋🏻 Hello!!! Welcome!! We’re super friendly here.

Tell us all about yourself and we’ll see how we can help.

Re debts - if you can are you doing the standing order trick?

Laska5772 · 21/06/2018 15:36

Ha ha! Well the holiday hasnt started that well.. got a taxi ( island taxis are v expensive btw) to Cowes. Thats about 14 miles from where I live.. bought tickets and then realised that phone wasnt in backpack !!!! Panic all round .... not in loo not in coffe shop not at ferry desk.. the taxi had left but luckily the lovely people at the ferryport let me use their phone to call him in case id dropped it incab.... but of course i couldnt get through ( its IOW festival and taxis all busy ) finally managed to get through no phone in cab but he rang it and said it was on. (No find a phone enabled on my phone so nothing for it but to get another taxi to do another round journey home and back and yes, there it was where id left it sitting on my desk from when he had called me to say he was on the way.angry
DUH!!! Expensive day! Ive spent £83 on taxis!!!hmm.. just on train out of Southampton now. A ruddy good job we are not flying until morning! Sigh...

Will post spends now & catch up later
€4 nurofen
€5 parking at hospital
€380 to mechanic(€350 bill for work done in jan €30 cos I left lights on in my car & had to call him out Blush calling h would be more frugal but I didn't for obvious reasons)
€8.99 on a 16x20 frame for cross stitch gift for ds preschool
€3.86 2 thank you cards, sandwich and drink from Aldi for late lunch, brought snacks with me for during the day.

After having hysteroscopy today I spent a very enjoyable 4 hours cross stitching and listening to Netflix, unfortunately didn't realise I'd lights left on in my car Sad as well as radio and phone charger.
