Sounds good wolf. Defo get that cc hammered down now. The thing is you might be fixed for 55 months but it is fixed and your can budget around it.

Loveabaconsandwich · 18/06/2018 19:31

Yay! Great news lonely. I have everything crossed for you.

Thanks cag . Just think in the winter you will have actual heating. Lots of positives ahead.

ememem84 · 18/06/2018 19:35

wolf good idea. I think. Can you use the extra £25 a month to pay down the credit card?

I have a balance of £1300 on my credit card. Once I get paid I’ll look to clear that down.

That balance is a result of my last unpaid month of mat leave plus christening plus mil being over and me spending emotionally. Plus father’s day. Sigh.

Tomorrow I need to take more tea into work. We pay £5 a month into the “drinks” fund. This pays for tea coffee milk sugar but doesn’t pay for my earl grey tea. I just take a bag/box in every now and then. I’m a bit Hmm that they won’t fund my tea habit but I’m seemingly the only one who drinks earl grey and if they pay for my tea they’d have to find someone else’s special milk or special tea.... so. I don’t mind much that said I’ve got about a million bags of the stuff here so no problem.

Dh is football watching. Sigh. I’ve meal planned and shopping listed.

Tues - veg spag Bol and spaghetti
Weds - pesto puff pastry chicken and green veg
Thurs - jacket potato and tuna
Fri - pizza
Saturday - steak pepper sauce and chippies
Sun - probably at dparents
Mon - pasta pesto

Have also laundry sorted and outfit chosen for tomorrow.

I remembered I haven’t yet reclaimed my gp fee from two weeks ago so will get a proper receipt on Wednesday and will do a reclaim £84 back to me for the two appointments.

Have we started betting on meadows baby yet?! I think 💙 At 1am tomorrow and 7lb6.

Wolfcub · 18/06/2018 19:35

H has used the joint account again. I have had words (by text)

Cagliostro · 18/06/2018 19:35

Thanks everyone 💐 I feel a little better, rather than sit at home in a useless daze while the others went to tae kwon do I walked down to meet DH at the cafe and we scribbled more in the Moving Notebook (I’ve written that so many times my autocorrect suggests it!). So a little more planning and some fresh air (and a nice chocolate cake...) helped.

Ok meadow your news is waaaay more exciting than mine! Looks like baby’s not going to be as late as you thought! It is frustrating waiting (I have never gone into labour naturally - all three were induced - but am no stranger to the stop start contractions etc) but I promise, it is absolutely worth it. ❤️

It’s ok to be scared, frustrated, angry that the flipping baby won’t just hurry up. There is no wrong way to feel. Just do what you need to get through and focus on the moment you get to snuggle the tiny person you made!

Good luck to you too lonely 😘

Yep, sounds sensible Wolf. Is the cc on a standing order?.

When you’ve moved the debt over change your current account. If you do 5 bank switches you’ve paid that £500 off for fuck all.

Shepherds friendly et al are often doing cashback on stocks and shares isas that offer another £100.

I’ve heard if you have everything with one bank and something goes wrong with loan repayment etc they can freeze your other accounts. I think it happened to the woman who does mortgage free in three blog.

ememem84 · 18/06/2018 19:37

fluffy I tell My clients to have accounts at more than one bank. haven’t followed that advice myself though

Really should.

Cagliostro · 18/06/2018 19:37

I think girl, 7lb 13oz, 11pm tonight... the sooner the better

OP posts:

Can 'D'H not be taken off the account wolf? Couldn't he just transfer what he owes?

Loveabaconsandwich · 18/06/2018 19:49

And 💕

Fluffycloudland77 · 18/06/2018 20:00

Em Oh good, that means I’m not a tin hatter. Yet.

Tomorrow I’m making loads of kidney bean burgers with smoked paprika & freezing them for lunches.

ememem84 · 18/06/2018 20:08

fluffy nope. It makes good sense. By the end of the year I will have opened a new account with a new bank.

Best interest rate for a “normal” savings account at present is Harrods bank I think. But entry criteria are a bit out of reach

Wolfcub · 18/06/2018 20:34

JOint acc is with a different bank and I will switch that to my sole name when all this marital crap is sorted. I’ve worked out by my dodgy maths that my plan will cut 70 months at least off of paying off the debt I’ve moved from the credit card. If all goes to plan and the division of assets works as planned I should be debt free apart from mortgage in 4 years 7 months max. A few years ago we thought we would have to go bankrupt. I need to get the mortgage into my name and back on a fixed rate before interest rates start to rise.

lifelongfrugaleer · 18/06/2018 20:34

Sssshhh good luck lonely.

I think girl, 3 am and 6lb 13.

Wolfcub · 18/06/2018 20:36

whispers Good luck Lonely

ememem84 · 18/06/2018 21:11

Fitbit charging up. I haven’t been wearing it for a while. (They’ve moved “my” printer at work now so I’ve got to walk for ages.....at least 50 steps there and back...!!haha!) so I want to see if it makes a difference. I reckon on a work + Nursery day I can easily do 15000 steps.

I’m all ready for tomorrow. Gym bag packed. Outfit chosen. No lunch made as we get sandwiches in the office tomorrow as we have someone coming in for a Cpd session. Hooray cpd and free sandwiches! Yaaaaaaas!

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 18/06/2018 22:10

A girl 7lbs 2oz tomos morning 💖 hope you're okay meadow

Cagliostro · 18/06/2018 23:05

Right, shopping done with meal plan. There will be a few grabbing food while out incidences but it’s planned for.

Epic journey to get the keys on Wed. Sadly there most likely won’t be time to visit the house on the way back as DD has gym (they know they’ll have to miss some clubs over the next few weeks while we sort everything, but gym is essential ATM as she has her first competition July 8th). So will have to wait for Friday for that as Thursday is batshit crazy as always.

Eeeeee so exciting waiting for thread baby!

I need to go to Ikea. For a browse (with house measurements in hand) and meatballs obviously. I may drag norbert and her DS with us :o also my mum said she might come along. I won’t order anything there but hope to make the decisions and then order online.

Should visit the British heart foundation shop too, as they do have some great stuff. Man it’s so difficult thinking what on earth we need! I’m kind of thinking Kallax might just be the main thing for downstairs ATM. If we can fit 2 of the biggest units in the lounge then it may be the safest bet in a cover all bases sort of way. Games, books, space left for other random stuff.

Cagliostro · 18/06/2018 23:09

Also trying to decide clothes storage for all five of us, as we have literally none (currently all our stuff is in the built in slideydoordrobe in our room, with the baby stuff in plastic tubs!) Do we go cheap and cheerful knowing we will need to replace, or just go for a long term solution... gah

Also I was kind of hankering after a coffee table - we’ve never had one and BHF have some lovely ones and we will finally have space - DH pointed out we won’t be able to put a damn thing on there because of the grabby little munchkin known as Cagletini. Certainly wouldn’t be able to actually use it for coffee and such. So a bit pointless until she’s older.

OP posts:
NorbertTheDragon · 18/06/2018 23:14

Well coffee is disgusting, so who needs a table for the stuff? 😂

Very happy to come to IKEA with you. Meatballs! Grin

I bought DS some new trainers today, £16.99 at Decathlon.

£10 in Sainsbury's for tomorrow's dinner, and also £23 there for takeaway pizza & drinks but my aunt had sent me £20 for that. So much cheaper than a takeaway from dominos etc. We sat in the park and ate it.

ChristmasSeacow · 18/06/2018 23:47

I think Meadow will have a boy though a girl would be handier as I have lots of girl
bits knocking around Wink. I think 11am.

Exciting Lonely, good luck tomorrow.

Debt plan sounds good Wolf.

mammynowanauntyIRL · 19/06/2018 05:47

Cag that's fantastic news, only one more sleep Grin

Meadow so pleased for you GrinStar

Thanks for new thread

lifelongfrugaleer · 19/06/2018 06:33

Forget the coffee table for now it's not an essential. And you will end up clashing your shins constantly.

The IKEA Mallam and pax wardrobes and chest of draws are good as well as the kallax. Or just get a couple of open hanging trails for now. Will depend on budget really.

Hope meadow is coming along nicely.

Fluffycloudland77 · 19/06/2018 06:41

Cag Have you got the Ikea family card?
