Aw Lonely that’s great news and so well deserved. Is it much of a drive?

Fingers crossed for you Meadow 🤞🏻

Friend round for lunch, I already had naice cheese in so just bought olives and naice bread, and a cucumber to make Greek salad. I will now be eating Greek salad for several days. I actually have too much food in 😳

ememem84 · 19/06/2018 16:37

I wore one of my new dresses today. And have just noticed this. Look. A parrot. Haha! Can not believe I just noticed it.

Nice parrot Em

I am at my concert. Had to set off early because of lousy motorway again. Really looking forward to it but also feeling decidedly unwell. Have taken some cold stuff and nose spray etc. I reckon I will be home about 12.30 and then up and on the road again at 6.

lifelongfrugaleer · 19/06/2018 17:09

Lonely that's fantastic, go you.

northender · 19/06/2018 17:27

Just a quick pop in from me to say CONGRATULATIONS to lonely.that is just fantastic news!!

mammynowanauntyIRL · 19/06/2018 18:19

Enjoy concert wolf
Today's a nsd for me
Yesterday I spent €11 on knickers for dd and €7.13 on pizzas, rolls and sweets in Dunnes stores, non essentials but made dd happy Grin

SunnyLikeThursday · 19/06/2018 18:57

That's brilliant news lonely. Very well done to you. Fantastic. Smile

Good luck again to Meadow. I hope things are going well there.

I had another good great day. I went to the lab again and my machine did it's job nicely so I have more brownie points for being a competent scientist and am very much angling to be allowed to stay on as a volunteer and have nice friends to hang out with.

Also I am all signed up to go to another concert, this time one where I know a person playing in it, so I am all excited to be her personal cheerleader. Yay!

SnugglySnerd · 19/06/2018 19:19

Bloody hell. Ovo have emailed to tell us to increase our direct debit as it's the enough to cover what we used in the winter. I had to be on mat leave and therefore at home all day through the coldest winter in years didn't I? Bet we'd have used half as much if I'd been at work.

Hope Meadow is ok and is cuddling a baby by now.

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 19/06/2018 19:29

Aww lonely that's great news, well done!!

Hope meadow is okay, am sure she is in a newborn haze somewhere!!

My car insurance comes out this month, it's £240 for the year which includes breakdown cover so happy enough with that. Have £0 until payday now though 😐

It's been so dry here, no proper rain for weeks so very frugally I'm going to use the water from my shower to water the garden with tonight!! Bloody water meters!!

£3 on a tesco meal deal, i had 2 lunches today 😶 not going to have much for dinner though 😉

ememem84 · 19/06/2018 20:06

£52 at coop for the week. Woohoo.

Ds was given a ton of stickers for a free toy. So we’ve got enough to get him a soft toy pineapple. Yay.

I did work then headed to the gym for my training session. I hurt. Did weighted squats, weighted lunges, pushed the “prowler” squat jumps, planks etc.

Walked home. Ds and dh were at the shops. So I managed to take make up off get a shower sort laundry and get in my jammies before they got home! Woooo.

lifelongfrugaleer · 19/06/2018 20:28

£23 Sainsbury's for fruit

Cagliostro · 19/06/2018 20:38

I want a cuddly pineapple! :o

Keys tomorrow. Eeeek. Wondering if we can fit in a quick visit afterwards to show the Caglets before gym. Really want to measure up - realised when I was planning the furniture I was forgetting about the radiators 🤦‍♀️

Snuggly You can challenge that with the ceo office. You don’t have to accept it.

ememem84 · 19/06/2018 20:54

cag if we get enough stickers lll get you one! Sticker for every £10 spent I think. And you need 20 for a toy. Or a cute baby! Dh got given about 17 stickers today!

northender · 19/06/2018 20:57

snuggly I'm sure it's quite straightforward with Ovo to adjust your own direct debit, we had to do that a couple of years ago. Have a look in the settings on your account

Unescorted · 19/06/2018 20:57

Well done lonely. That is fantastic news.
Meadow girl 7'8 was born at 5:37 this morning. Hope it went well. 😁
Wolf nail him to the floor through the scrotum. He won't be able to get to the bank machine then.
Cag fab news about the house.
Hayfeaver is shocking...

Off to read the end of the last thread to see if Em's mil is still alive....

northender · 19/06/2018 20:58

Em I hate the prowler, really effective though!

northender · 19/06/2018 20:59

Unescorted how did gcses go?

Unescorted · 19/06/2018 21:01

They are over North .... finally. how did yours go?

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 19/06/2018 21:44

cag I reckon you need to move in before deciding on what furniture/storage you need, once you're in you will have a much better idea of what you want. Have you found someone to clean the house?

We made oat cake tonight which is useful for lack lunches.

AuditAngel · 19/06/2018 21:45

Hi all. Congratulations Lonely

Spends today £16 in Tesco at lunchtime, included a pack of socks for each of the girls and three Sistema lunch boxes as half price.

Big Tesco shop £120, very little meat, but more convenience food than usual as DH and I are away from Friday morning to Sunday evening and the DC's cousin is looking after them for the weekend.

That included £22 for a very good (I hope) bottle of wine for us to take with us.

My credit card balance is horrendous. I have moved it to my Barclaycard, unfortunately no offers. This is a medium term solution, it will be cleared in full as soon as my mum's house is sold. That has gone on the market today at £450,000. There is about £80k -£90k of debts to clear (mainly equity release mortgage and her credit card bill), estate agents fees then to share between us 4 children.

The long term solution is to spend less money.

Things going on at work. Could be good, long term, but potentially redundancies, but would be after a year due to TUPE. Scary. My boss has a plan. My only concern would be that it is for us to set up on our own, providing the specialist services we currently provide in house. I can't afford to not be paid. (The inheritance money is needed for a new roof on our house)

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 19/06/2018 21:45

Haha lack lunches is very apt 😉

Cagliostro · 19/06/2018 23:15

Lack lunches 😂

I hope meadow is ok and snuggling little minimeadow.

I do think waiting a while will help. However we have virtually nothing to move with (kids don’t even have beds, and we have zero clothes storage as well as nothing for books, games, home ed stuff etc) would literally be living surrounded by boxes. With cagletini cruising around (crawling is no longer enough 🙄) I’m not sure my nerves can handle it TBH 😳😳😳

I did see some lovely stuff in BHF today. Not making decisions yet though.

Nobody that I’ve messaged about cleaning quotes has replied. Even someone who messaged me unprompted when I posted in a local FB group. WTF.

I'm all booked for my ASD test in ten days and four of my oldest friends are filling forms about me and writing personal bits of stuff about what I was like as a teenager. OMG Having nice chats about the old days with them over facebook, which is very enjoyable.

Fluffycloudland77 · 20/06/2018 06:40

Audit In that case I would put the roof on the back burner for a while until you know or start looking for another job.

I hope the house sells quickly.
