Covid vaccine, to ask if this makes you worried?

I'm double vaccinated, had 2 Pfizer but reading articles such as the above and seeing people in the news dying of sudden heart attacks and blood clots makes me really worried.

If I could go back in time, I'm not sure I would get vaxed without waiting for further research.

Anybody else?

Well how have you concluded that that’s vaccine related though? And where are your stats from? Could well result from millions of Covid infections themselves. Maybe don’t jump to conclusions just because it suits.

Gratuliere · 14/03/2024 11:22

There are a lot of medical case studies showing the range of injuries. Some attachments from the WHO database.
I am not anti-vax, but got myocarditis (officially recognized case) and a whole lot of other issues that have required hospital treatment, from the MRNA shot.
There needs to be a distinction between the conspiracy theories from anti-vax craziness and those with C19 vax injuries that need to be treated and recognized, to prevent further suffering.

@Gratuliere These are not research articles that prove the vaccine caused these issues - they are studies questioning whether the vaccine was the cause.

WhalePolo · 14/03/2024 17:04

@Gratuliere

You’ve also sourced a 2021 study there.

This is from 2023 :

Is Vaccination Against COVID-19 Associated With Inflammatory Bowel Disease Flare? Self-Controlled Case Series Analysis Using the UK CPRDTimothy R Card et al. Am J Gastroenterol.2023.

Discussion: Vaccination against COVID-19 was not associated with IBD flares regardless of prior COVID-19 infection and whether messenger RNA or DNA vaccines were used.

However I have read an association between Covid infection itself/Crohn’s disease.

Therefore you are posting a 2021 source without context, without proper analysis which could concern people about taking the vaccine. This is why consensus science is far safer then : unqualified people making assumptions based on a paper published 3 years ago.

Yes there’s been a massive publication recently. Linking dysautonomia and POTS to the vaccine.

This is what happened to me. Claim currently in process at VDPA with little hope of success.

Could you give a reference for this massive publication, please?

ArseInTheCoOpWindow · 14/03/2024 18:45

Yes hang on

Cookerhood · 14/03/2024 19:12

Interesting, although a self reporting survey isn't very scientific.

ArseInTheCoOpWindow · 14/03/2024 19:14

I was also part of the study at Yale and Harvard which can easily be found.

ArseInTheCoOpWindow · 14/03/2024 19:16

This is it.

It all looks very credible but their methods are incredibly vague and there’s no chance that would get through peer review in this country. It doesn’t mention how they collected their adverse reactions and the bit about the ‘five hours of hospital contact’ in Denmark makes zero sense at all

ArseInTheCoOpWindow · 14/03/2024 20:05

May well as be. But I’ve had it confirmed by 4 nhs medics, been involved in the H and Y study and applied for VDPA.

So there are side effects. That have destroyed my life

Ratherstandonacliffandsetfiretomyself · 14/03/2024 20:28

@ArseInTheCoOpWindow how did you report your symptoms into the study that you linked?

WhalePolo · 14/03/2024 20:53

@ArseInTheCoOpWindow

The Carroll study you linked is authored by a Doctor who claims herself to be vaccine injured. I’m sorry - but the potential bias there would concern me. I also see that her personal webpage is written in not-particularly-scientific terminology, and I think she’s moved into studying Covid from a not-particularly-in-depth virology background.
The other study specifically stated that these are RARE side effects.
No vaccine is 100% safe. It’s vital that science studies safety and reports findings, and then looks across the board - and without bias - to ensure the message it gives the public, the consensus opinion is ‘safe and effective’.
If you - or anyone - has been injured, this needs to assessed by a professional and not just taken at face value. Otherwise an unqualified person could be attributing an unrelated outcome to the vaccine when it may not be the case. There are many social media groups on line which will share articles with political bias, anti vax bias and will be looking to recruit to give them further oxygen. The most ‘free from bias’ source we have is : global, consensus opinion. This is the safest advice.

@ArseInTheCoOpWindow how did you report your symptoms into the study that you linked?

I reported my symptoms to the Yale study.

I went in the Yake website and found the doctors email. And I emailed him. I checked out his credentials first.

@WhalePolo thete are plenty of other studies. I was assessed by 2 Gp’s a rheumatologist and a neurologist.

Im not an anti vaxxer, I support public health measures. Social media is full of anti vax twats, and it is them who are preventing medical assessments moving forward. Imagine a vaccine that triggers Covid symptoms. It’s heaven to their ears. But it needs addressing, as people like my selves are suffering. Various studies have not been released as the anti vaxxers jump on them. So they are preventing movement foward on this.

That’s not a credible way of participation in a study I’m afraid. I used to work in this field and as I said that absolutely would never get through to a peer reviewed journey in the UK

ArseInTheCoOpWindow · 14/03/2024 22:17

I haven’t linked to the Yale one, so how can you tell whether it’s credible or not?

’I was part of the Yale study…’
’This is it…’

Disingenuous and tells me everything I need to know. Also Yale and Harvard are actually very unlikely to collaborate on the same study… almost like someone plucked out the two most credible unis they could think of 🤨
