Very boring post. I have Covid. It's been 4 days if feeling incredibly unwell. High temperature chills nose throat the works. How long do most people find the symptoms go on for? I'm triple vaxxed

I had symptoms for the entire 10 days :(

DandelionPocket · 12/06/2022 15:20

Triple vaxxed too, felt very ill for about 5 days and then started to feel better each day for the next 5. I think I was only fully over it after about 2 full weeks though. Hope you feel better soon, plenty of rest!

AceofPentacles · 12/06/2022 15:22

9 days I was feeling grim, went back to work on day 12

Somewhereinfragglerock · 12/06/2022 15:25

MrsPelligrinoPetrichor · 12/06/2022 15:29

Same. It felt like when I had proper flu.

Fireflygal · 12/06/2022 15:36

A friend has covid for the 2nd time (last a few months ago) and she said it's worse this time around. I wonder if it's a new strain and vaccine effectiveness has declined??

Wish you all better

Summerwhereareyou · 12/06/2022 15:39

Fire I've not been following COVID stuff recently so I am not entirely up to date but yes,I believe there are two new strains and we are also in a new wave now.

Op I've felt extremely sorry for myself today and I'm only on day 3. Yesterday I felt it was over and I plummeted last night!
Apart from feeling ill it's being away from the family.

sunshinesupermum · 12/06/2022 15:42

Have been ill for two weeks now. Fatigue mainly and foul taste in the mouth.

tonystarksrighthand · 12/06/2022 15:44

Unvaccinated and zero symptoms when I had it.

hesbeen2021 · 12/06/2022 15:47

First time unvaccinated January 2021 and have never felt so ill in my life for a full 10 days. Second time ( vaccinated) unwell for 24 hours and then mild cold symptoms only for a couple of days

diamondpony80 · 12/06/2022 15:48

About 2 days for me. About 2 weeks for DH. It affected us very differently.

ditalini · 12/06/2022 15:49

I'm 6 days in and I wake up every morning thinking I'm feeling better but totally wiped out doing much of anything.

Fever/chills/headache/throat all gone after 4 days but no sense of smell/taste and I've knackered myself hanging up one whole load of washing 🙄

Nothingoriginalhere · 12/06/2022 15:49

I’m day 4 and feeling rough!
triple vaxxed too, first time I’ve got it despite working in healthcare and exposed many many times. Got chills, awful chesty cough, sinus are blocked, have felt sick, and horrendous sore throat.
started feeling ill on Wednesday but was neg then positive on Thursday - still very positive on lat flows

Summerwhereareyou · 12/06/2022 15:51

I've had flu twice.

It was horrendous, every year I'm the first to get my flu jab!

Just like flu!!

Neolara · 12/06/2022 15:52

I'm on day 4 and feeling much better. Rough 2 days. I haven't tried to do anything though so don't know if the energy will hold up when I do.

EnjoyingTheSilence · 12/06/2022 15:54

Day 5 here and beginning to feel better. Actually not needed to sleep today which is good. Hope you feel better soon

UndertheEagle · 12/06/2022 15:59

I'm on day 4, my husband on day 3. We both feel awful although DH is worse. I feel exhausted, hot, dizzy and have a sore throat and headache. Hopefully will start to feel better soon.

Spyderwillies · 12/06/2022 16:07

I had it over Easter. I'm unvaxxed and 2 days of feeling run down, rather than ill and then improving over next 3 days. Tested positive on lft for 2 weeks though even though the general tiredness and throat lasted a max of 5 days.
Only jnew I had it as I had the urge to keep clearing my throat, which was the most annoying part.

I'm feeling sorry for myself too! I also think each day I'm feeling much better and then it comes over me again. Reading that it can go on like this for 10 days/2 weeks is a bit unappealing

You poor thing. Covid is tearing through my workplace at the moment.

CaptSkippy · 12/06/2022 16:28

Sadly, the effectiveness of vaccines wanes over time, that's the reason for the booster programs. Also, there are new Omicron variants out there that look concerning.

I'm part of a data collection programme so I know every fortnight what my antibodies levels are like. Mine are in them 'very high' range. I do wonder if the new variants are not so well protected from
