Who is planning to ditch masks as soon as we are legally allowed?

Is anyone else planning to ditch the masks asap? The only reason I wear one atm is because of the legal mandate and it will go as soon as that's dropped.

If you are staunchly pro-mask then this is probably not the thread for you! I know all the arguments on both side and they have been fully rehearsed on this board for the last 2 years. I am simply interested to gauge how many people also want to ditch masks asap, when the law allows.

It would be fab if we could have a thread on this topic that didn't include the words- selfish, it's no hardship, why wouldn't you?, we're in a pandemic ffs, I wear my mask to protect others etc.... that's lovely, and we already know!

I'll carry on wearing it on the tube and buses (if busy) but not if not busy and not required. Otherwise nowhere else.

Intrigued that those who are planning to burn/bin their masks are so certain that there isn't another variant round the corner? Surely the sensible - and environmentally friendly - approach would be to just put them away. Just in case.

I might keep my mask collection to show the possible grandchildren, maybe with a few lateral flow tests. it'll be like when my great grandma would show me her ration books and gas mask from WW2.

I've pretty much stopped wearing them now anyway..don't in supermarkets, and not many others do either.

Well it's hardly a massive outlay or really that environmentally impactful in the overall scheme of things. What if I promise to make any future masks I might possible need from old clothes? That ok?

I’ll be packing ours away in the medical box along with the hand san, hopefully not to be seen again until one day in 2034 when I decide to declutter, find them and think “what the fuck”

If you only want positive responses how can you accurately gage how people feel about ditching masks? Surely an AIBU vote would have been more appropriate?

Interesting that so many of you had already ditched them, just been to do my weekly shop and I would say only one person I saw wasn’t wearing one

I will definitely be ditching the mask - can't wait to do so.
