Would you judge me? (Covid)

Hello 👋
I'm a 36, almost 37 year old female who is double vaccinated with pfizer.
2nd dose was mid August, so able to have a booster.

HOWEVER... I am wanting to hold off from the booster....I believe its messed with my periods a little also. Cannot get a Dr's appointment to discuss this.
I'd also like to wait and see how the next couple of weeks to months play out. I'm not an anti vaxxer, I'm not saying I won't eventually have it.

I am careful, masks, cancelled events in the run up to Christmas. Careful with my 7 year old. We all as a household do lft regularly. Social distance where possible.

SO WOULD YOU JUDGE ME?
would you say I should feel awkward sat in a room of say 5 people who have had 3 jabs knowing I've only had 2? Would you exclude me from family things?

Thanks, I understand this could get heated just wondering people thoughts

No I wouldn't judge you as I have similar feelings to yourself. However, I will get the booster soon.

glimpsing · 09/12/2021 22:26

No I haven't been invited yet

Well, there you are. If anyone tackles you say you had an adverse reaction and have been trying to have a conversation with your GP about it. And you've not even been invited yet. Have you looked at the appointments available near you? There might not even be that many available without travelling miles. So you might not be able to be able to get a booster very soon even if you wanted one.

I don't know where else reliable you can get additional info. Someone else might.

Neverfittedin85 · 09/12/2021 22:26

@givemepiece

I wasn't sure the 30s were being invited yet. Very possibly I could be wrong though

Personally I'd just tell them what they want to hear 'yes I had the booster yesterday'. It's no one's business imo especially as you're double jabbed!

Haven't been invited yet. Formally.

Yes, if I was told I'd need another 8 jabs, or 20 or 30, I wouldn't hesitate

No... I've also been invited for my booster but just keep forgetting tbh.

Bouledeneige · 09/12/2021 22:29

I wouldn't judge you. But since I currently have Covid which is quite miserable (I'm on day 4 of fluey headaches and tiredness) and facing many further days of isolation - I'm not quite sure why people wouldn't take the option to help avoid or ameliorate their symptoms.

I don't really understand why people would want to increase their chances of getting it. Because they're cross with the government? I wouldn't have volunteered for this if I could avoid it. I'm feeling pretty low.

SivvyPlath · 09/12/2021 22:30

Nope. You're double vaccinated, which is more than a lot of people!

My DM isn't getting it either.

Have you forgotten to name change or something? 😂😂

That's your third post on this thread, each one slightly different than the rest. Loool.

glimpsing · 09/12/2021 22:31

@Iamanicepersonreally

I'd judge you because you're failing to do everything in your power to keep your immunity as high as possible and are consequently putting other people at risk.
It might be helpful if you signposted some information that might put the op's mind at risk regarding her adverse reaction to her last jab rather than just using emotional blackmail.
CourtRand · 09/12/2021 22:31

@Ceramide

I wouldn't judge you but I wonder why you think it's the cause of changes in your periods. I think there are so many other more likely explanations.
It's messed with thousands of women's periods. My own stopped for 3 months just after my first jab then returned heavier than they ever have been.

I'm 26, never been pregnant, on the same contraception as I have been for 7 years, no weight gain or loss. So I'm inclined to say it's the jabs. And two other women at work had the same - skipped periods and then heavier.

SmileyClare · 09/12/2021 22:32

It's bad that your period issues haven't been checked by a doctor. And you've had issues since August? There are various medical reasons for menstruation issues and you should make it a priority to have your gynae symptoms investigated.

As far as the booster, there's no need to tell everyone. Most of your age group are still waiting for an appointment.

I'm eligible for a booster and the soonest appointment offered to me was January at my nearest centre.

I hope you're feeling well soon.

But just to clarify, it's not because I'm angry with the government.

No, I haven't forgotten to make change. I was answering the OP's subsequent questions 🙂

bumbleymummy · 09/12/2021 22:37

No, I wouldn’t judge you at all. Whatever you decide to do has got nothing to do with me.

SickAndTiredAgain · 09/12/2021 22:37

I’ve had two doses and will have my booster when invited. I wouldn’t judge you. I wouldn’t even ask you. I assume my friends are vaccinated but only a few specifically mentioned it, mainly due to feeling a bit rough from side effects. I’ve not asked any and have no intention of doing so.

I would care if they started spouting crap about microchips and sending me things saying everyone who’s been vaccinated was going to die in a year because I have no time for that nonsense, but someone just quietly unvaccinated I don’t care. I disagree with their choice, but I don’t care about it.

User82517 · 09/12/2021 22:37

I'd judge you more for taking up a GP appointment to discuss something that is reasonably well documented amongst women who have had the vaccine.
Did you submit a Yellow Card report at the time or shortly afterwards?

Emsie1987 · 09/12/2021 22:38

I am in the same dilemma. My periods have been bad since I was vaccinated. Mainly the pms symptoms I experience beforehand which includes physically being sick and migraines for a week before.

Why is a woman's reproductive health issues seen as unworthy of a GP's appointment?
Gwrach · 09/12/2021 22:41

I wouldn't judge you OP. I'm 31 have had both vaccines completed back end of March 2021 because I'm a front line community worker. So was invited right at the start of the roll out. I've not had a booster, even though I can organise one really easily.

My reason. I don't think I need it. I've worked with people face to face daily since March 2020. I've even transported covid positive people in Winter of 2020 in the back of my car when there was no vaccine, because we had to get the homeless to isolation rooms and they couldn't take public transport and they couldn't walk there. So I had to sit in the front of the car masked up windows down with a covid positive person sat in the back seat mask on windows down coughing away. 🤷🏻‍♀️

I've been sat right next to some clients who tested positive the following day, and they weren't wearing PPE and neither was I and I still didn't catch it.

I've yet to catch covid. I've not had it once. I've tested regularly with PCR's at the begining with work and then in to lateral flows once they became available, I've never once tested positive, so not like I could have been a asymptomatic person as we were tested 3/4 times a week at one point with PCR's and also now daily lateral flows.

So I genuinely don't know what it's going to take for me to catch it at this point. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Lieinrequired · 09/12/2021 22:41

I wouldn’t judge you. I had my second jab in June and my booster was booked for next week. I now have covid and am feeling crap. I would choose the jab over this any day.

Sorry but

'Documented amongst women'

That's not a medical diagnosis.

I feel the same really I think,I mean no one wants to get vaccinated,do they? Most people I know had odd periods afterwards even those of us who haven't had one for ages due to menopause.
Kendodd · 09/12/2021 22:45

Why is nobody talking about Rees-Mogg laughing about Downing Street parties and police inaction?

PrincessNutNuts · 09/12/2021 22:45

Does your surgery website not offer the e-consult service? (You fill in a form and a doctor calls you back.)

In about a week or so numbers are going to begin to climb significantly and demand for boosters may peak as people start to grasp the magnitude of the situation.

You might be glad that you got the booster sooner rather than later?

I wouldn't judge you, but I would want my vulnerable loved ones protected as well as they can be, and that means keeping up with jabs.
