Hello 👋
I'm a 36, almost 37 year old female who is double vaccinated with pfizer.
2nd dose was mid August, so able to have a booster.

HOWEVER... I am wanting to hold off from the booster....I believe its messed with my periods a little also. Cannot get a Dr's appointment to discuss this.
I'd also like to wait and see how the next couple of weeks to months play out. I'm not an anti vaxxer, I'm not saying I won't eventually have it.

I am careful, masks, cancelled events in the run up to Christmas. Careful with my 7 year old. We all as a household do lft regularly. Social distance where possible.

SO WOULD YOU JUDGE ME?
would you say I should feel awkward sat in a room of say 5 people who have had 3 jabs knowing I've only had 2? Would you exclude me from family things?

Thanks, I understand this could get heated just wondering people thoughts

no,I wouldn't...you do whats best for you

Comedycook · 09/12/2021 22:10

No. I'm double jabbed. I'm not going to get the booster. I'm past caring.

whatnumber · 09/12/2021 22:11

Not at all. You've had two so shown willing Grin

XenoBitch · 09/12/2021 22:11

I would not care about your vaccine status at all. I would not even ask about it.

Are your family excluding you from things, OP?

glimpsing · 09/12/2021 22:13

No. It is your choice to make. If you read the info on the letter which tells you you are eligible it says you may get called to discuss your choice. So perhaps that would be an opportunity to discuss this further.

hamstersarse · 09/12/2021 22:13

I wouldn’t judge anyones decision on these things

WhatIsThisPlease · 09/12/2021 22:13

Nope.

I've not had my booster yet either. I'm double jabbed. DD just had covid and I hugged and kissed her the whole time and didn't get it.

I'm 47 and my jabs messed with my hormones too.

Do what's best for you.

Toadsinholes · 09/12/2021 22:13

I couldn’t care less. Some of my family members haven’t had any of them & doesn’t bother me. Their choice!

Alieninmybody · 09/12/2021 22:13

I wouldn't judge you.

Ceramide · 09/12/2021 22:14

I wouldn't judge you but I wonder why you think it's the cause of changes in your periods. I think there are so many other more likely explanations.

Not as yet, but I expect. Its their way or the high way .

Your immunity is still quite high at this point. I don't think it's a problem.

Iamanicepersonreally · 09/12/2021 22:15

I'd judge you. I think you're being selfish

I'm very lucky and Ive never had any period issues, not heavy, even period pain my whole life until I had this vaccine. I guess that's why I attribute it to the vaccine

smilingthroughgrittedteeth · 09/12/2021 22:17

I wouldnt Judge or exclude you since youve had 2 vaccines, to be fair i wouldnt Judge you even if you hadnt had a vaccine but i wouldnt be socialising with you in those circumstances (i have an ecv child so am extra careful with who we are mixing with). Im firmly of the opinion that everyone needs to make their own decisions and choices as long as they respect other peoples and accept everyone has made their own risk assessments based on their own circumstances.

glimpsing · 09/12/2021 22:17

Have you been invited yet? Mine was overdue but because I got in earlier than expected last time I was not in an officially eligible group. So I just decided to wait for the invite. When the person rang they said I was overdue so I mentioned the goalposts keep changing and it's hard to keep up so I decided to wait for an invite. I also wanted to make sure I didn't book erroneously.

Neverfittedin85 · 09/12/2021 22:18

Thank you for the honest replies.
I have shown willing with the first 2.
It's ok to say if you would judge me also but please give a valid reason.

I'd judge you because you're failing to do everything in your power to keep your immunity as high as possible and are consequently putting other people at risk.

No I haven't been invited yet.

I wouldn’t judge you at all, in fact why tell anyone? It’s no one else’s business whether you’ve had the vaccine or not.
With or without the vaccine you can still get covid and still pass it on. Just that it makes your symptoms less in theory.

portandchocolate · 09/12/2021 22:23

The only reason we're not in lockdown now is because of the vaccine programme (as far as I can see)

So in the interests of getting us out of this pandemic as fast as possible I think everyone who can have it should.

Unless you know something we don't. Or know better.

So unless you do, yes I think you're wrong

Maryann1975 · 09/12/2021 22:23

I commented on a similar thread earlier about being expected to have a third jab. Although I’ve got my booster booked, I’m not really happy about it. I guess I’m doing it to ‘do my bit’, but I really don’t want to be jabbed every few months long term.

The vaccine did mess with my periods for a few months though, it’s not really a problem to me, I’ve had my children and periods are just an inconvenience to me, so I’m not bothered if they are further apart than normal, but I fully appreciate that for some women that is a dreadful side effect of the vaccine and I wouldn’t blame them at all for not wanting to have another jab.

So, no, I wouldn’t judge you and would be happy to include you in plans. You’ve had more COVID vaccinations than most of the world (no data on this, but I can’t imagine I’m wrong). Maybe we should be concentrating more efforts on vaccinating poorer areas to help prevent new variants emerging rather than Only protecting Our own country.

Thanks for your reply. I've done a lot more than the unvaccinated to help keep immunity high, but I do get your point. If you were told you were going to need another say 8 jabs? You'd take them all?

Yes I do regret telling them if I'm honest.

I wasn't sure the 30s were being invited yet. Very possibly I could be wrong though

Personally I'd just tell them what they want to hear 'yes I had the booster yesterday'. It's no one's business imo especially as you're double jabbed!
