What does everyone think about the banning of the unvaxxed in Germany?

Katieandthekids · 02/12/2021 21:33

I'm just interested in opinions. I personally believe that no one should ever force anyone to put something in their body.

Just as a side: I had both vaccines during my pregnancy and still not 100% sure I've done the right thing but in balance and after lots of my research believe 99% that it is fine. Totally respect the reasons people are nervous about it though.

Ah, the "elderly lady being pepper sprayed in the face". That has been long debunked. She was a young lady wearing a wig actually Oh silly me! I didn't realise it was a young lady! Well spray away then!

Just don't repeat rubbish you see on the internet without checking it first, I guess?

riveted1 · 04/12/2021 10:10

Posted this on another thread but it got deleted because was started by a troll

Posters seem to keep referring to "quarantine camps" as if unvaccinated people are being rounded up and incarcerated (cue lots of offensive comparisons that seem to be getting more, rather than less, frequent)

That isn't what is happening. Stop trying to imply this. Australia has sorted out spaces for people entering the country to quarantine (as has been standard in the UK and many other countries without the drama), and if this is something that allows them to relax their strict border policies then it can only be a good thing.

churchofthepoisonmind · 04/12/2021 10:11

@Dishhh I have seen numerous videos from Australia. Together they paint a picture of a country which has seriously lost the plot. I am capable of exercising my judgement on that and am not the only one who thinks this way.
If you want to try justify police violence against protestors, go for it.

riveted1 · 04/12/2021 10:13
@milkyaqua I wouldn’t make the comparison either but I still find it shocking that they exist and teenagers who tested negative felt the need to escape from them.
Why do you find it shocking?

See my post above. It is not unreasonable to expect people to quarantine when entering a country during a novel pandemic. This has been a policy used in many countries, including the UK.

Travel is now more complicated, if you don't want to abide by specific countries regulations like testing and quarantine, then don't travel.

riveted1 · 04/12/2021 10:15

teenagers who tested negative felt the need to escape from them.

There is testing on specific days for a reason @DayKay

In addition, he tested negative after he walked out

DayKay · 04/12/2021 10:24

One of the teenagers was 15 yrs old. There’s no mention of a parent or guardian and there’s also no confirmation of whether they were travellers or locals put in quarantine.
When there are no details, people should question such incidents.

You might have numerous videos from Australia, but I live in Australia, so I think that tops you just a little bit. We haven't lost the plot. Some protesters have been a little volatile, but their issues were mixed up with other issues (union problems, as in the protest you were referencing with the 'elderly lady'). Our Covid caseload and death rate is quite low, particularly compared to England's - so we're doing just fine.

DayKay · 04/12/2021 10:31

A low covid caseload and death rate is not the only marker of how nations are doing, and neither should it be.

milkyaqua · 04/12/2021 10:32

@Postdatedpandemic

Germany has run out of ICU beds. Should they do a total lockdown? or Just a slight impediment of the unvaccinated?
This.

This is the issue of non-Australians commenting on these things. This is a hugely sensitive issue. This is a First Nations teenager. Allowing Covid to spread within First Nations communities would be disastrous. This is why they are at the facility.

I agree. I’ve seen footage of the Australian camps too. They’ve lost the plot for sure.

Nothing in that article is equivalent to your statement

Just heard in the news that GPs are being told thy don’t need to offer routine care for the over 75s for the next three months!!*

BamboozledandBefuddled · 04/12/2021 11:31

@riveted1 That statement was made by another poster and quoted by me - it's why it appears in bold print in my post. Take it up with them if you don't like it. My comment that people will die from this policy refers to the details in the article that 'Practices can postpone minor surgery and routine health checks for over-75s and new patients until 31 March.'

b) From 1 December 2021 to 31 March 2022, where contractors consider it clinicallyappropriate, routine health checks for those over 75 and for new patients may be deferred.

I think hyperbole should be called out tbh - this is not the same as over 75s not being able to access healthcare

BamboozledandBefuddled · 04/12/2021 11:52

@riveted1 I haven't said over 75's won't be able to access healthcare. Don't tag me again please - I'm not interested in wasting time debating what you want to pretend I said, rather than what I actually said.

Dishhh · 04/12/2021 11:59

I agree. I’ve seen footage of the Australian camps too. They’ve lost the plot for sure.

Please read what I and other posters from Australia have replied about this. This isn't the reality at all. (And using the word "camps" is somewhat inflammatory, but I'm sure you know that).

eh? I don't think you can demand to not be tagged in an open forum

It was replies from you and another poster

I have no interest in pretending someone said something, there's hundreds of people* contributing to the board Hmm

(*well possible a couple of prolofic NCs but that's by the by)

@BamboozledandBefuddled

Just heard in the news that GPs are being told thy don’t need to offer routine care for the over 75s for the next three months!!

People will die as a result of that policy. That will contribute to the excess deaths figures which are one of the major statistics used to harangue people about the severity of Covid. It will be very convenient for some people.

You weren't the one who posted it, but you're agreeing with it so not sure why it's such an offence to tag you in a debate about it..

@Dishhh I know what I and many others have seen with my own eyes. I know what I have heard from business contacts out there. I have seen some of the legislation which the Aus Government has passed which in all honesty is disgusting (maybe you are suggesting am imagining that?).
If you want to keep your head in the sand about the direction the Aus government has taken, fine.
But seriously, stop trying to gaslight others on this issue.

I never said the vaccines didn’t work I said there would be no discussion if people thought they did work as nobody would care who was and wasn’t vaccinated but apparently it’s because they aren’t 100%, maybe then in people’s minds 100% vaccination rate will make them 100% effective, who knows 🤷🏻‍♀️

If being anti mandated, forced, coerced vaccine makes me an anti vaccine conspiracy theorist I’m happy to take that label as I really couldn’t care less about people’s ignorance.

userperuser · 04/12/2021 16:06

Oh and Telegraph ran a story today saying the exact thing that posters are being threatened with suspension for.

link to news article? I'd be very interested to read it and see who the journalist is

Someone else saying something doesn't make it right, and much of this thread has been dispraging "MSM" anyway

riveted1 · 04/12/2021 16:19

Unless you mean this: www.telegraph.co.uk/columnists/2021/11/28/arent-people-shocked-wearing-yellow-stars/

Why aren’t people shocked by the wearing of yellow stars?

In which the journalist is clearly reporting on why it's offensive
