South east, PCR done this am at 08.30 and really really hoping that we get a negative result back before school starts tomorrow Grin

Anyone got any recent times to give me some guidance?

When we did ours at 6pm one day, one result came back between 9-10am the next day. The others came a few hours later. So there is a good chance you'll get it before school.

Thank you! I love a good story. It would really help the close contact to rule to work properly I think if test turnaround times were all like yours.

we have had about 4 or 5 in the last 6 weeks.
All had results back within 24 hours.

The timings seem to have got a lot better.

steppemum · 19/09/2021 09:39

But I would say you need to plan for them not being in school tomorrow. Obviously siblings can go to school unless symptomatic. Do a LFT for siblings in the morning.

All ours ahve been ill with a horrible cough/cold/throat virus, no covid anywhere, their friends all seem to have had it too, they all needed a few days off school anyway as really unwell.

Antsinyourpanta · 19/09/2021 09:41

Weve done 3v
One last August - tested at lunch time one day , results came around 6 am next morning.
One August 21 - tested around 2pm , results came at 7am next morning
Yesterday - tested at 8.40am , results around 10.40pm last night
(All negative)
We are in south east/east of england.

@steppemum siblings can go to school after a negative pcr if no symptoms is my understanding.

no, they can go to school after a negative LFT.
Don't need a pcr unless symptomatic.

urbanmist · 19/09/2021 09:50

Tested yesterday at 10am. Result back at 6am this morning.

Isthisjustnormal · 19/09/2021 09:52

Had a PCR done on Friday 8:30, results back early Sat am, so less than 24hours.

TheRainbow · 19/09/2021 09:54

Did PCRs Friday 10.30am and results back 8.30am Saturday.

MilkCereal · 19/09/2021 10:01

Schools are setting own rules on siblings- lft or pcr, so check with school.

laselvar · 19/09/2021 10:02

London, did at 5pm on Friday results back before 9am on Saturday. 2 colleagues did there's later and got results back before me.

Test is for dd being a close contact of a positive test. Unless she is positive siblings don't need test I think? Will probs do lat flow anyway but in theory they are not 'touched' as contact of close contact I don't think?

OP posts:
pommedeterre · 19/09/2021 10:48

Am assuming dd is negative as 3 neg lat flows this week including yesterday - obviously may be proved wrong!

pommedeterre · 19/09/2021 10:49

Thanks for test times - making me hopeful!

Worried now DD had hers 19.30 yesterday morning, still nothing 24 hours later. South London

Bobholll · 19/09/2021 10:56

Postal is SLOW. I did one last week, over 48 hours. Currently waiting on DD’s.. 36 hour mark 🙄

Seeline · 19/09/2021 11:00

Ours was drive through.....

noblegiraffe · 19/09/2021 11:03

We’ve been waiting 72 hours. Phoned 119 and they said it’s not been lost, there’s a huge backlog and we should get results soon. Hope yours is faster!

Seeline · 19/09/2021 11:14

Oh noble that's bad! Our instructions said phone 119 if we hadn't heard anything after 5 days!! Good to know we can chase sooner than that. Hope yours comes soon - is that London/south east?

kowari · 19/09/2021 11:16

33 hours. Test 15:30 day one, result 00:30 day three.

triplechoc · 19/09/2021 11:22

Beginning of last week, East Yorkshire, had test 8.30am Monday, result came through at 9pm that night, so just 12 hours, I was amazed.

annarack99 · 19/09/2021 11:43

South east too, 4 of us tested at drive in centre at 4.30pm yesterday and results all back together at 7.30am today, very impressed. One positive and 3 negative though, so not great news.

Caspianberg · 19/09/2021 11:44

We did our day 2 travel pcr at 9am, results by 10pm same day

FtmNov22 · 19/09/2021 14:57

I live in hampshire, we done a pcr at 9am this morning as lo was up all night coughing, hoping negative result will come back in time for partner to go to work tomorow as we cant afford for him to be off and also to rule out covid as im sure little one has croup 😥
