...do you think Johnson is finally losing it?

Assuming he had control in the first place...is it just me Johnson seems to be getting more incomprehensible and wild eyed!? ...999 calls are taking 10 minutes to be answered...Not enough paramedics/health staff available...there may be issues in the supply chain for food...people being pinged lots,... essential workers off isolaging....and numbers of people with the virus going up....would waiting to get everyone jabbed in August have been the sensible option?

OP posts:

Well he was the one who said it has to be this way or never - hoping we wouldn't notice all the other options.

Yes, this is what high transmission with no SD is like.

Isn't it exactly what all those calling for a 'we've got to live with it' approach wanted?

It's going to be pretty tough until this variant burns itself out.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 22/07/2021 14:00

Given we haven't even started seeing the effect of dropping the remaining rules yet, it does feel as though we are in a rather sticky place!

QueenStromba · 22/07/2021 14:00

In the Autumn, at this number of daily admissions, patients in hospital and patients on ventilators we'd introduced the tier system and SAGE had been advising a lockdown for almost a month. Dropping almost all legal restrictions just because it's summer is madness.

Twickerhun · 22/07/2021 14:02

Oh he never had it, the plot was lost at birth

marieantoinehairnet · 22/07/2021 14:04

Yep, I don't feel much like it's freedom week, stuck indoors with tulsi children isolating whilst I juggle working from home and can't get a food delivery because there are no slots, because there are no staff!!!

marieantoinehairnet · 22/07/2021 14:05

Two children rather

gardeninggirl68 · 22/07/2021 14:21

Isolation rules change soon so should be less of a strain

Dustyboots · 22/07/2021 14:22

Wild eyed OP? I don’t look at him or listen to him anymore. He makes me too angry.

Someone on here mentioned he was taking lots of cocaine to get through this. Maybe that’s why he’s losing it and is wild eyed.

Dustyboots · 22/07/2021 14:23

Not very reassuring though - for him to be in charge and so out of control.

Not really as the variant is rampant and in holiday childcare settings they'll drop like flies just like they do at school... the Johnson variant, certainly is world beating

No, I think those people would argue that the close contact isolation needs to go a well. People being pinged is a large part of the problem. They need to get that double jabbed key worker list our urgently and see if it helps.
idontlikealdi · 22/07/2021 14:30

Losing? Lost it a long while ago.

No-one was vaccinated in the Autumn. Pretty big difference.
marieantoinehairnet · 22/07/2021 14:42

He's a massive man child, jelly for brains, no morals... he never had a plot to lose

in the autumn, we didnt have vaccines
Blossomtoes · 22/07/2021 14:46

I don’t think Johnson ever had it to lose. Looking at the current leadership I’m frankly scared. Covid is the least of our worries.

Wilkolampshade · 22/07/2021 14:50

Losing it would imply he ever had it.

marieantoinehairnet · 22/07/2021 14:52

We're gunna end up with Rishi in charge, mark my words

LolaSmiles · 22/07/2021 14:53

I think he knows exactly what he is doing: taking orders from his mates who want to get rich.

A free for all over summer is not about the general public. It's about making money.

What's disgusting is that him and his government seem very keen to actively undermine testing and tracing in order to make money happen.

QueenStromba · 22/07/2021 14:54

So we can just ignore hospitalisations and deaths because we have vaccines? That makes zero sense.

carcarbinks · 22/07/2021 14:54

I don't think he's losing it because he didn't have it in the first place. The country seems to be in chaos though. It was obvious this was going to happen and yet again the government just wasn't prepared.

marieantoinehairnet · 22/07/2021 14:55

This is absolutely a pocket lining exercise, coffers of Tory donors looking thin, must let the plebs visit Pret and go t'ut pub to get slashed, worry about the shitshow laterz...

Has ever there been a bigger foot in the mouth of Pfeffel?

Bollindger · 22/07/2021 15:13

Ok. So please give YOUR plans to solve Covid.
We are in a no win place, the same as every country, even New Zealand now has cases on the rise, nothing works 100% and you can't please everyone.
