Anyone want to predict when the next lockdown will be?

I am guessing last week of August/beginning of September, and schools won't be going back when they are due to!

Ha well they can go to fuck if they think a lot of people will be balancing homeschooling and working again. I don’t think they will close schools to be honest. People will just have to get over it.

What a cheerful thread

November 8th

BikeRunSki · 18/07/2021 15:23

Within a week of schools going back. Not that ours have finished yet!

BikeRunSki · 18/07/2021 15:23

@CrumbsThatsQuick

November 8th
What makes you say that?
toolazytothinkofausername · 18/07/2021 15:24

Monday 1st November.

MagicSummer · 18/07/2021 15:24

Well, when you hear that supermarkets are taking away the social distancing marking on the floors, you do worry about what the hell is going to happen!

End of August

But I think Boris will 'go spend time with his family' before so he can declare it not his fault.

gingerbiscuit19 · 18/07/2021 15:25

They can leave the floor markings if they want it doesn't mean anyone follows them?

Grin I haven’t known anyone stick to the markings in supermarkets for at least a year now!
Geamhradh · 18/07/2021 15:26

There won't be.
Might be localised hotspot restrictions should there be a vaccine resistant variant etc.

DogsSausages · 18/07/2021 15:27

No one where I live took any notice of the supermarket rules anyway. Next lockdown probably be in September when holidays are over and everyone is mixing but who knows.

MushMonster · 18/07/2021 15:33

I go for no lockdown.
They have to catch up with vaccines though. They seem to have slowed down

StrangeAddiction · 18/07/2021 15:34

I saw on sky news that the peak is expected in August. So I don't know if/when they would do another lockdown

HarveySchlumpfenburger · 18/07/2021 15:34

By the end of August. But can’t rule out that they’ll try a repeat of last November/December and try and drag it into September before having to shut everything for 3 months.

BillyShears · 18/07/2021 15:36

Depends how quickly it gets bad, but I know for sure the next lockdown will be circa 2 weeks - a month after it would have been sensible.

In which supermarkets have any customers taken any notice of floor markings for the past year? Where is anyone enforcing distance in the aisles?

Going shopping is not what's keeping the numbers up

Imnothereforthedrama · 18/07/2021 15:39

Oh dear god obsessed with lockdowns. We will not have a lockdown .
Restrictions increased by the winter maybe but no lockdown.
Why would we anyway? and would anyone do it also unlikely too .

PotteringAlong · 18/07/2021 15:40

Beginning of November - if it happens they will tag it onto October half term.

But we didn’t have the vaccine last year so no it won’t be a repeat of last year .
camelfinger · 18/07/2021 15:41

1st Nov.

Nah, cases will be crazy high at the end of August but Boris will insist that it's all perfectly safe, nothing to see here.

All DC back to school for a day to ensure they've properly mixed with anyone they didn't see over the school holidays, before a new lockdown is announced.
