I am guessing last week of August/beginning of September, and schools won't be going back when they are due to!

Only 50% of population is double jabbed

Very nearly 70% are double jabbed. And 93% have covid antibodies.

Anyone want to predict when the next lockdown will be?

I tend to just look at the weekly figure. Cases, hospital admissions and deaths are red and test conducted are black. Thankfully not as bad as previous waves because of vaccinations.

Children are people too.
Backofbeyond50 · 22/07/2021 17:39

I think you mean adult population @TheVampiresWife

That's what the screenshot I attached says, yes.

So much negativity!

There's no way that cases going DOWN is a bad thing. Even if they go back up again, it's still good!

Almost like some people want it to be a shit show....

Backofbeyond50 · 22/07/2021 17:50

Yeah but the previous poster saying 50% of the population is double jabbed is probably more accurate as I presume they have included children.

Agree completely!

Justbpip in sbd out of thread but who said cases going down is bad?

SpiderinaWingMirror · 22/07/2021 17:53

October half term. But only after they have been back for a few days after.

Quartz2208 · 22/07/2021 17:54

Its 54% of the population isnt it?

With 70% have had a least one jab therefore soon we should reach the 70% of the population mark

HairyFloppins · 22/07/2021 17:55

It's pathetic seeing everyone trying to trip over themselves trying to justify why the figures aren't as high as they hoped.

It's almost as if if they don't want them to go down.

Just let people have a bit of positivity FFS. Yes they will probably go up, and we are all doomed forever and we will get covid over and over again, then you can say we told you so.

Nousernameforme · 22/07/2021 17:56

October half term till Christmas break then 3 weeks of madness with a return to social distancing in january.

Backofbeyond50 · 22/07/2021 18:02

Population 68,265,551 about 36 million double jabbed so pretty close to 50%

3asAbird · 22/07/2021 18:15

The 50% refers to Bristol vaccination.
If other large uk cities are similar ie Leeds, Birmingham, Manchester and London then they have a problem.
The national vaccination rate skews how vulnerable urban cities are.

It's gross, isn't it? You can almost hear them rubbing their hands together with glee. It's all "mark my words" and "calm before the storm, you wait and see".

Notforme22 · 22/07/2021 18:32

I might start a new thread.

Bad news, keeping our spirits down for just a bit longer.

Then Nanny and co can run free in their natural habitat.

LucilleTheVampireBat · 22/07/2021 18:34

They won't be running. Imagine all the EXHALING.

Waxonwaxoff0 · 22/07/2021 18:51

@SonnetForSpring

Right, so when there are less cases it's because there is less testing, but not the other way round.

Think about the logic of what you have just written.

I am.

If someone were to say "cases are only high because we are testing more" you would say no they're not, cases are high and rising. But when someone says cases are decreasing, you're saying "that's only because we have done less tests."

Can you imagine being relatives or friends of these people? It must be so draining to be around such miserable fuckers.
SonnetForSpring · 22/07/2021 18:54

You lot are hilarious.

TheTallOakTrees · 22/07/2021 20:50

@NannyAndJohn

Projections are mathematical estimates based on data, predictions are rash conclusions often influenced by anecdotes.

The figures produced by SAGE/Independent SAGE would come under "projections", the "we won't have a second wave", "we won't have a third wave", etc type stuff would come under "predictions".

Your predictions were wrong. Do you also read hands, crystal balls and tea leaves and get that wrong too?
SaviTavi · 22/07/2021 20:52

I'm going to say late September/early October...

Zotter · 22/07/2021 23:27

And 93% have covid antibodies.

I read it is not yet known how having detectable antibodies, now or at some time in the past, affects the chance of catching the virus again. The Covidence study on Queen Mary University website says:

“The presence of antibodies does not remove the need for vaccination, which is likely to offer additional protection over and above that provided following natural infection.”
