I've just seen this on my Apple News but can't view it as I don't have a premium subscription. Has anyone read the full article? Is there someone similar that this information has been published? I'm really interested in what it says and what is going to be done - if anything?

4000 women report period problems following vaccine
OP posts:

I had a massive bleed after my 2nd Moderna jab, despite having a mirena coil and no periods for 3 years. However, the timing coincided with my Mirena being out of position so I don’t know which caused the bleed. Have not reported on yellow card for this reason but I am seeing Dr tomorrow and will ask.

DontDrinkDontSmokeWhatDoIDo · 27/06/2021 17:01

@pudseypie

I had a week of brown / pink bleeding about 4 weeks after AZ vaccine 1 despite being in the middle of a pill packet. I went for my second vaccine today, and they refused to vaccinate me because of this. I have to be checked by a GP before they will now allow me to have my second vaccine. The nurse also mentioned I was the second woman today (by 10.30am) with this and they've seen it a lot with post menopausal women.
Interesting. @pudseypie - glad that you are being listened to.
Roonerspismed · 27/06/2021 22:25

That’s interesting. My friend had had three periods in four weeks since her AZ. GP said she hasn’t heard of any links to the AZ vaccine. That was today. I can’t actually believe that

jerometheturnipking · 27/06/2021 22:32

This is interesting. I had a tinge of pink when I was due to ovulate after having my first Pfizer jab, which I thought was odd as that doesn’t usually happen, but I’m now waiting on my period to show up. So far it’s 2 days late and is usually like clockwork.

OttilieStonelady · 27/06/2021 22:41

I yellow carded. 2 weeks late after first AZ. A month late after second. It's never happened before.

13579db · 27/06/2021 22:49

Vaccine last Sunday, Pfizer.

Not due on until this coming week, but period came on Monday the day after vaccine.

Massively heavy and for days longer (I'm usually light flow for 4 days, it's now day 6 and I'm still on heavy flow)

I've taken lots of an iron/vitamin tonic to help this week and so it's kept my energy levels high but it's a concern definitely.

No other immunisation for travel for example has ever had this effect.

Glad I found your thread OP as had heard NOTHING about this in media or with friends etc

13579db · 27/06/2021 23:01

This is also a far off the scale thought of mine and I realise it's not hugely feasible, but who's to say if the vaccine isn't an attempt to control the population and mess with female reproductive organs

I do realise this is a massively far fetched thought, but if the vaccine does affect female periods in the ways described on this thread, similarly how much has the vaccine affected oral contraceptives and their normal efficacy, then either there will be more unplanned pregnancies or more struggles to have children, ergo population control disguised as a vaccine for a virus.

Clearly I need to go to bed and get some sleep

Gooseysgirl · 27/06/2021 23:06

Sorry I haven't read the full thread! So I had my second shot of Pfizer at the end of March. I just checked the calendar of my period app and my periods have been coming every three weeks since then!

Gooseysgirl · 27/06/2021 23:07

(I'm 45)

Sandyjag · 27/06/2021 23:13

Thanks for link ollyollyoxenfree have yellow carded. My regular 28 day cycle has changed to 25. For two months in a row now.

RailingOnandOn · 27/06/2021 23:19

I'm post menopausal but had spotting about two weeks after both AZ jabs.
What's that all about?

RailingOnandOn · 27/06/2021 23:23

Far too inconsequential to notify via yellow card but it's weird.

VienneseWhirligig · 27/06/2021 23:28

My cycle has been weird since my first jab, I reported it on the yellow card scheme. Its also reduced the effectiveness of my overactive bladder medication, the medication that has successfully stopped my continence issues for three years suddenly became useless the day after the jab. It gradually got better then after the second jab, the same thing happened. Reported that too. Spoke to my GP about it when I had a meds review last week and he said I wasn't the first patient to report that to him.

DontDrinkDontSmokeWhatDoIDo · 28/06/2021 07:23

@RailingOnandOn - I'm sure it's nothing but the strong advice is to get any post-menopausal bleeding checked out - if you're in the UK, your GP will refer you to a specialist for an appointment within two weeks.

This whole thing makes me so cross. Went to see the gynaecologist on Friday who said they could see there was blood around my ovary and fluid in my uterus. Never had this before. The nurse said they’d had lots of ladies complaining of irregular cycles following the vaccine.

Over the weekend spoke to several friends who’ve all had issues following their vaccination but weren’t aware at all of the relation to the vaccine or reporting it. One had also been to the doctor and had it brushed off as ‘one of those things’. How many cases must be unreported?

I’m due my second vaccination on Wednesday and feel trapped. Where I’m from if you’re not double vaccinated travel is impossible and I haven’t seen my family for over two years. We’re also planning on TTC and I’m genuinely very very worried about the impact the vaccine’s had on my cycles.

Isababybel · 28/06/2021 12:21

My first period after my first jab was extremely heavy with clots and flooding, and now my second one is the same! My periods have never ever been like this. Ive completely ruined 2 bed sheets Shock
I think i will definitely be yellow carding this because i did dismiss it really when it was just the one period affected, but if this is it for me now then im really not happy (only 31 so highly doubt perimenopause).

I’m in a chemically induced menopause (following breast cancer) and have my hormone levels checked every 6 months. Just had to have an additional test because one hormone level had increased since the last check, which shouldn’t happen. The only difference is I have had both Pfizer between the two tests.

Maybe this is the post-menopause equivalent that wouldn’t normally be picked up? Apparently another woman undergoing the same treatment has the same issue.

GingerLemonTea · 28/06/2021 15:48

My cycle has changed. I had a 2nd heavy period just 15 days after my 1st and this month the cramps are unreal. They have lasted 4 days so far & I am struggling to do anything. Luckily I am on a run of days off work as I couldn’t function like this. Normally my cramps only last a few hours and are relieved by painkillers.

@BigWoollyJumpers thanks for sharing.

That kind of article makes me so cross.

Imagine you're having IVF or treatment - this is a big deal.

Roonerspismed · 28/06/2021 19:40

I think the more these kind of crappy articles come out, the less I trust them

DontDrinkDontSmokeWhatDoIDo · 28/06/2021 21:46

Agree, @Roonerspismed - they are so fucking patronising.

Krimson · 01/07/2021 07:45

I'm glad I found this thread and it is being talked about. I had my first Pfizer jab in April and had no side effects. I had my 2nd dose on the 15th of June and started my period 3 days later which was 5 days before it was due. I have never had an early period and they are so regular I could set my watch by them. I'm now on CD13 and still on low fertility on my fertility monitor whereas by now I'd be on high or ovulating.

I had a miscarriage in February however due to retained tissue it dragged on until March. I am 34 next week and time is not on my side and now I have the added worry of what this has done to my fertility. Had I known this, I would have delayed the vaccine. I'm so worried now and have reported it through the yellow card.

jerometheturnipking · 02/07/2021 09:55

I'm now on day 35 of my cycle - normally a 27 day cycle. I had my first dose of the Pfizer jab on day 11.

Pesimistic · 02/07/2021 10:04

Over on the ttc board it appears some women haven't ovulated or are missing period altogether after having the jab
