I've just seen this on my Apple News but can't view it as I don't have a premium subscription. Has anyone read the full article? Is there someone similar that this information has been published? I'm really interested in what it says and what is going to be done - if anything?

@LittleRed53

I really shy away from conflict, but *@Hornbill123456789* I really have to say something.

You keep dismissing people's views as conspiracy theory and misinformation, even when there are genuine and statistical causes for concern. You keep 'fact checking' linked articles, saying 'but did you know one of the authors has ties to/once worked with/has been published on such-and-such a dubious person/platform' and then throw up info on that OTHER person or thing- it's largely irrelevant to what the actual person is saying in the article originally linked, but is a good way of just making the whole thing look questionable.

You also have, many many times over numerous threads, taken other poster's comments out of context or apparently misunderstood what they said, and then gone on to criticise them and even report them for what you claim they said, when it wasn't the case.

You've been repeatedly banned by MN because of this behaviour, but you just keep name changing and doing it on new threads.

I don't know why you have such a determination to police what information is or is not allowed on MN, we are all capable of reading info and making up our own minds. But your seeming obsession with this cause you've signed up to really doesn't seem healthy to me.

I very much hope your mum is recovering well from her surgery, and wish you well. But you really need to stop the constant tactics to discredit and dismiss anyone who disagrees with you- both posters and people/professionals they link to. Let people speak. If MN judges that posts are actually harmful, they'll remove them.

I certainly hope this thread is not removed, because this issue is important for women everywhere and there shouldn't be anything wrong with open and transparent discussion.

@KFB1978 - I had a first-thing-in-the-morning sense of humour failure when I first read it - then twigged eventually :)

Sunbird24 · 22/06/2021 17:45

@KFB1978 I’m so sorry, I think I’ve had to deal with too many people at work recently who actually say those things to be able to spot when it’s just dry humour! 🤦‍♀️ I shall have a word with myself (and maybe some chocolate) and try to do better in future 😁

I had a mega flooding bloody interminable period from hell after both AZ doses. Didn't bother reporting it as no one gives a shit about "women's stuff" and it was in peak "oh there's no issues at all with the magic vaccines - stop scaremongering you evil anti vexer you" moment in time.

report it at coronavirus-yellowcard.mhra.gov.uk/

there's no time limit and the more women who do, the more accurate picture the MHRA are getting of what proportion and demographic are having symptoms

no one gives a shit about "women's stuff"

the way to try and change that is to make sure they are seeing numbers of women reporting symptoms

right now, the rates look comparable to what you would expect by chance (i.e., if you asked billions of women if they had any strange menstrual-related symptoms in normal times), which is why the MHRA do not currently believe it to be causal

RuddyHellItsSoftCell · 22/06/2021 20:10

This is interesting. My cycles gone from 35-45 days for the last approx 25 years but my last few periods have been only 18 days apart. I’m going to check back and see if this coincides with my first jab approx 7-8 weeks ago.

jsp5642 · 22/06/2021 20:16

I had wild physical symptoms at the time of my period after both the covid infection and the vaccine. They were basically the same symptoms, so I think it is to do with the effect of the spike protein, which is present in both.

Ideally, I think we probably still want to have the vaccine version rather than the virus version if we have the choice.

I'm still struggling with the effects of both long covid and the vaccine side effects and I am not enjoying either, one tiny bit.

PotteryLady · 22/06/2021 20:19

Ok this is weirded as I joked about this when I had my vaccine-I'm 54 and had my first period/bleed in several years about 14 hours after AZ vaccine 🤷🏻‍♀️

Jimgem39 · 23/06/2021 13:10

Mine has been delayed, have been regular as clockwork for ages now, had my 1st jab on the 20th May (6 days after my last period) and so far my period is a no show. Having known this would happen I wouldn't have had the jab and I am seriously contemplating not having the second.
I have been TTC for 9 yrs now and the fact that my period hasn't shown is messing with my head.

hennybeans · 23/06/2021 15:57

My period has just come early on day 11 of my cycle. This is 4 days after receiving my second AZ jab. I've always been regular 27-30 day cycles, never any spotting in the middle. I've yellow carded it.

YellowColour · 23/06/2021 16:08

I haven't read the whole thread but I can definitely vouch for this.
I had my first Pfizer jab on New Year's Eve (early because I work for the NHS).

After that I had a period every other week. For a few weeks. Previous to this I hadn't had a period for about six months as I am menopausal age.

Then my period stopped again but after having 2nd jab exactly the same thing happened. A period every other week.

optimistic40 · 23/06/2021 17:25

I had Covid infection and no effect on the next cycles, but then vaccination and very short heavy ones. Not sure if it's related as it's not unheard of for me to have them from time to time. Not normally two in a row though.

Spodge · 23/06/2021 18:08

Looking back, my bleeds have been completely bonkers since the jabs. I am in peri menopause, plus in the throes of changing HRT so I thought little of it.

After dose 1 of AZ I had an earlier than expected bleed. Then I had nothing for weeks (during which time GP moved me to continuous HRT so I wasn't expecting a bleed).

12 days after dose 2 of AZ I had a bleed and have had a short one roughly every fortnight since.

WarriorN · 23/06/2021 21:07

Perfect 28 day cycles (which is odd for me!) quite a bit heavier though.

DontDrinkDontSmokeWhatDoIDo · 24/06/2021 07:43

@PotteryLady - it's bad news, isn't. I'm 51, had my first period in 2 years after AZ vaccine.

Massive fatigue, huge clots, PMT symptoms through the roof.

As with any post menopausal bleeding, I was terrified it could be cancer. Had specialist appointment, scan - all clear, no 'reason' for it - links to the vaccine laughed off.

I've since been declined life insurance due to 'post-menopausal bleeding' and won't be reconsidered until a specialist has signed me off 😡

We are so used to putting up with strange symptoms / expecting to be told 'just one of those things'.

Everyone, pls do consider Yellow Carding / reporting any irregularities you experience, so a truer picture can be built up.

ThornAmongstRoses · 24/06/2021 07:47

My period after my first Pfizer was 5 days late whereas I’m normally regular as clockwork.

My second period, was about two days late, heavy from the start (which is normal for me) but only lasted three days instead of the usual 5-6 days.

Currently experiencing my third period and although it came bang on time the heaviness has been far worse than anything I’ve experienced. Yesterday was Day 1 and I was saturating through my clothes and passing huge clots. I was having to use maternity pads as my normal sanitary towels just couldn’t contain the flow. By 10am yesterday morning I had to get some more underwear and trousers bought in to me because I’d had such a huge downpour that just soaked through everything. I was mortified. And now it’s Day 2 and there’a practically nothing. It’s like I passed my usual 5-6 days worth of blood in just one day.

I haven’t reported any of this as I kind of feel that nobody really cares about what side effects women may experience when it comes to hormones and periods etc.

DontDrinkDontSmokeWhatDoIDo · 24/06/2021 07:51

@ThornAmongstRoses - you're right that women's issues are given less priority.

That's why reporting via Yellow Card (or other relevant system) is so important - to add your experience and create important volumes of data.

Marmalady75 · 24/06/2021 22:03

My first period after second dose of AZ was a few days late, but ended up being super light. Then just over a week later I started another period, normal flow. I was putting it down to being peri menopausal, but this has got me thinking.

BringBackThinEyebrows · 25/06/2021 14:25

For those of you who had periods affected, was it just one abnormal cycle then back to normal?

I received my first jab (Pfizer) last month and had one period since. Was delighted that I seemingly had no adverse reactions...until my period came. The practitioner who vaccinated me only mentioned possible side effects of sore arm or headaches. I had initially been encouraging my female friends to get jabbed but now I feel a bit guilty.

I reported my symptoms via yellow card. Currently debating whether my second jab will be worth it.

DanceForMeColin · 25/06/2021 14:32

My cycle has been completely screwy since the jabs. I have a coil and rarely have a period, but since the vaccinations, I have had bleeding and pain every couple of weeks.
Obviously, I would still choose to vaccinate and will take any booster offered to me, but it would have been good to have had some indication of this as a side effect and how long it might go on for.

DanceForMeColin · 25/06/2021 14:33

Just to add, I had my second jab in April so this is two months of on-off bleeding.

DontDrinkDontSmokeWhatDoIDo · 25/06/2021 18:31

@BringBackThinEyebrows

For me, I had one massive period (after two years), then a smaller bleed a month later, and then symptoms and a tiny bleed the month after that.

Lots of PMT symptoms still but seems like things may be settling down.

Hope all goes well for you too.

Theonlyoneiknow · 26/06/2021 23:36

Last period 30th March, first jab 27th April ... still no period! Am perimenopausal so they are irregular anyway but this is 3 months now which is really odd. Is it worth seeing the GP - I don't think they would do anything apart from blood tests perhaps.

starlilly88 · 27/06/2021 10:19

I'm on the mini pill and haven't had any bleeding for 2 years. 3 days after my second vaccine, it started and still going after 2 weeks. My doctor said highly likely to be the jab. I had Covid last year with no bleeding issues, so it seems to be the jab and not the virus for me anyway

pudseypie · 27/06/2021 11:33

I had a week of brown / pink bleeding about 4 weeks after AZ vaccine 1 despite being in the middle of a pill packet. I went for my second vaccine today, and they refused to vaccinate me because of this. I have to be checked by a GP before they will now allow me to have my second vaccine. The nurse also mentioned I was the second woman today (by 10.30am) with this and they've seen it a lot with post menopausal women.
