Apparently this is the next age group to be invited

I'm honestly not sure, as not keen on something so new, think I had covid early last year before they were testing

@Redskyyy

Yes. 31 and no underlying health conditions. I’ve had my first one. A small part of me wishes I had waited (I had AZ).
Why? You haven't had a reaction to it, so why do you wish you'd waited?

@Redskyyy

fruitandflowers · 26/04/2021 21:57

39, fit as a fiddle, had my first (AZ) due to job

Not particularly worried about contracting covid badly, was worried about our whole family coming down with it and it taking us all down for a month (with no childcare available) and happy to feel that risk of bad covid totwlly minimised.

Think people refusing (bar individual medical reasons) are idiotic, some of the cod science is just ludicrous.

ConstantlyChanging · 26/04/2021 22:03

Had one dose of AZ, won’t have the second. It’s evident they don’t know everything they need to know about this vaccine.

Plumedenom · 26/04/2021 22:05

Live in Europe. In bed with covid. Stuck at home for a month with little kids missing school, trying to wfh. Bloody nightmare. If anyone wants to pop their AZ vaccine in an envelope then I'd be very grateful for it!

Unanananana · 26/04/2021 22:06

37, no health issues except a BMI of 29.5 (and dropping slowly). I will be having it when invited. Don't care which one. I am unlikely to become very ill from Covid but frankly anything that can slow/prevent transmission to others is good for me.

DP 41, was invited for his and had Oxford/AZ a week ago. Chills and a sore arm but thats about it.

People that are medically exempt, fine. Anti-vaxxers and YouTube conspiracy morons, do one. You are imbeciles.

MarcelineMissouri · 26/04/2021 22:07

Yes absolutely. Healthy 41 year old here. I have my first jab (ox/az) booked in for next Wednesday. I can’t wait.

HairyToity · 26/04/2021 22:10

I'm 38 and had mild covid. I had a positive test result, as did the kids and DH. We were all quite mild. DH and I have debated this till the cows come home, and decided to get vaccinated. We don't want two weeks isolating again next winter, and although it was mild, we did feel rough for a few days. Also we feel it's the only way society is going to get back to normal.

Alonim · 26/04/2021 22:10

No

felulageller · 26/04/2021 22:13

No

Sadsiblingatsea · 26/04/2021 22:16

No way.
Too many really alarming side effects.
It’s just too risky.

miliie55 · 26/04/2021 22:17

Yes 35 and I've had my first one a few weeks ago.

I was a bit unsure about it originally when it first came out as it felt they had maube rushed it through and not a lot of time to see the lasting effects. Now I think, well millions of ppl have had it and it has been approved just like any other vaccination. I can't imagine there will be millions of ppl in future with issues due to vaccine.

tomatoplantproject · 26/04/2021 22:18

Yes, and I'm now booked in for Tuesday

enjoysun · 26/04/2021 22:18

No way.Too many really alarming side effects.It’s just too risky.

Riskier than Covid? Really?

Dailywalk · 26/04/2021 22:19

BBC news explaining why only open to 44yo now... large age group and priority to those needing second jab

Gertie75 · 26/04/2021 22:21

I'm 45 and had the astra zeneca a few weeks ago and am looking forward to having my 2nd dose.

Those saying it's too risky are you happy to take the contraceptive pill or go on an aeroplane or catch Covid as they all have higher risks of blood clots.

Dailywalk · 26/04/2021 22:21

Ignore previous post was meant for different thread!

10milewalk · 26/04/2021 22:24

No because l really don't like the many side effects that are coming up.

AlmostSummer21 · 26/04/2021 22:26

@StarCat2020

Bloody laptop posting things before I was ready.

The reason I don't agree is that different ages have (so far) had different occurrences of the clots.

@StarCat2020

A couple of articles you might find interesting.

The chart you posted is not the one the JCVI were using, but even if you say that's correct, it's still a really really low incidence rate.

Death rate from clots after the vaccination is still something like 1 in a million.

It's a different type of clot I know, but it still kills you all the same

(From the BMJ)

Putting the risk in context:
1 in 250 000 people vaccinated with the AstraZeneca vaccine will develop blood clots with low platelets

1 in 2000 women each year will develop a blood clot from taking the combined oral contraceptive pill1

1 in 1000 people a year will develop a blood clot from air travel2

DirtyDancing · 26/04/2021 22:28

Would I? Already have.

LadyGAgain · 26/04/2021 22:32
@LadyGAgain I hear what you are saying but, like the flu, covid can mutate and change so it doesn't mean that at all. I won't be getting it every year if that is the case. I'm also unsure if I am finished having children so for that reason I am also holding off. I'm entitled to not be pressured into it though, and it's the best decision for me, for now
Absolutely fair enough. Your body, your choice. However, the stats speak for themselves. How many women on here (and I'm not referring to you) are on the pill? How many people reading this live with people in a more vulnerable yet still very young age wise category? I believe in science. And that's my motivation. Each to their own (until they start spouting nonsense theories at which point I definitely eye roll)

AlmostSummer21 · 26/04/2021 22:32

@ConstantlyChanging

Had one dose of AZ, won’t have the second. It’s evident they don’t know everything they need to know about this vaccine.
You have had the first one. You didn't have a serious reaction to to it. You're not one of the Extremely rare number of people to get a clot afterwards. So what are you worried about?

They know the vaccine prevents serious illness & death.

Seriously. What more do you need to know?

Wildswim · 26/04/2021 22:33

Nope. Not having it.

AlmostSummer21 · 26/04/2021 22:35

@Sadsiblingatsea

No way. Too many really alarming side effects. It’s just too risky.
Other than the incredibly rare cases of blood clots, what are these alarming side effects?

You don't think COVID is risky?

Puttheneedleontheraquet · 26/04/2021 22:37

Undecided. 43 and have been suffering with long covid for 13 months, really want to get better but also scared it may make things worse 😕

Botanica · 26/04/2021 22:38

No. Or at least not yet.
It's messing with peoples periods, hormones and ovulation and as someone trying to conceive already in my forties and time not at all on my side, I am not risking losing my last few months/year of possible opportunity by having my cycle go haywire...
