Apparently this is the next age group to be invited

I'm honestly not sure, as not keen on something so new, think I had covid early last year before they were testing

I'm mid 50s so had mine a while ago (well, first one) but I have 3 x adult dc who are all planning to have it.
It is about doing your bit for society as a whole as much a the odds of a 19 yr old either getting it, or being very ill from it.

If you've already had it, did you feel unwell after ? And for how long ?
No, not at all. Not even a sore arm.
Nor did dh (well, he said his arm was a bit tender after he lay on it all night).
Friends who have been unwell - and, as I say, it is by no means a 'given' seems to have varied between having a headache for a fe hours the next day, to feeling "groggy" (described but some as 'like having a hangover') for the next day, but can still function and fine the day after.'
I know one person who was unwell for about 3 days, but they have several underlying health conditions.
I know one 39 year old who didn't have underlying health conditions who has died from COVID, in the las couple of months.
I know which I'd rather have.

Worriedly2 · 26/04/2021 19:37

Yes, already had both.

Even if covid didn't cause me any harm I could pass it on to someone it could kill.

That's not a risk I'd want to take

TheMoth · 26/04/2021 19:37

I'm in the bit of North Wales that DOESN'T appear to be vaccinating 40-45 year olds. I'd quite like one, so I can go on holiday on the summer.

tatoowooo · 26/04/2021 19:38

@LadyGAgain I hear what you are saying but, like the flu, covid can mutate and change so it doesn't mean that at all. I won't be getting it every year if that is the case. I'm also unsure if I am finished having children so for that reason I am also holding off. I'm entitled to not be pressured into it though, and it's the best decision for me, for now

kimlo · 26/04/2021 19:40

I'm late 30's and had my first one (az) because of asthma just waiting for my second. I would have had it even of I didn't have asthma and I'm at increased risk of blood clots.

Dh will get his when asked.

Haggisfish · 26/04/2021 19:45

Yes -44 no conditions. Been invited and booked for Wednesday. Cannot wait.

Crazybunnylady123 · 26/04/2021 19:53

Yes. I want it as soon as possible and I don’t mind which jab it is. I’m 36. I just want to feel safer.

Comeinoutoftherain · 26/04/2021 19:58

I'm 35, and have had both doses (not in the UK). Not clinically vulnerable.

Covid 19 has just demonstrated what a world without vaccines can look like. So reinforced by pro vaccine stance.

I recently had boosters of Hep a, b, dtap etc as well. I always pay for the flu jab.

Every vaccine is a small step to a life where Covid isn't the main topic of conversation and the cause of restrictions, so I jumped at the chance to have mine.

GettingItOutThere · 26/04/2021 20:18

yes yes and yes.
mid 30s, no underlying health conditions. Had both due to my job.

Iwonder08 · 26/04/2021 20:22

Depends on the limitations if I don't have it, specifically around travel. If no limitations then I wont

ForThePurposeOfTheTape · 26/04/2021 20:23

I will be having it- mainly because I want to have mild symptoms if I get Covid. (Single parent)

Lunar567 · 26/04/2021 20:24

No way I will have experimental vaccine that has not been proven to be safe and effective.

ForgedInFire · 26/04/2021 20:33

I'm booked in to have mine this week. I am under 40 but I am obese so my doctor got me an appointment. I feel very apprehensive about is especially as my DMum was very ill for a few days after hers and I have no one available to look after my children if I'm as ill as she was

idontlikealdi · 26/04/2021 20:34

Yes I'm 42 and mine is tomorrow.

RumHoney · 26/04/2021 20:35

Yes, on Sunday (42)

Redskyyy · 26/04/2021 20:37

Yes. 31 and no underlying health conditions. I’ve had my first one. A small part of me wishes I had waited (I had AZ).

Christmasfairy2020 · 26/04/2021 20:38

Think your wrong. They started vaccinating mid 30s here husband had his other day

Gembie · 26/04/2021 20:43

Got my second (Pfizer) dose on Saturday. 33 year old healthcare worker with no underlying conditions

jellybe · 26/04/2021 20:45

I've had my first and have my second booked for tomorrow. No risk factor due to health just the area I'm working in.

Didn't hesitate to have it done.

enjoysun · 26/04/2021 20:45

@PomegranateQueen

I am not happy to put myself at risk for others, my own welfare comes first, mainly because I worry about what would happen to my DCs if anything happened to me. With that in mind I am carefully watching for AZ updated before I get invited

You do realise that the risk of catching Covid is higher than the risks associated with getting a vaccine?

And you do realise that the morbidity rate from Covid is much higher than that post-vaccine?

If you are seriously worried about what would happen to your DC's if anything were to happen to you, then why on Earth aren't you getting g the vaccine?

Your logic is flawed

enjoysun · 26/04/2021 20:45

I've had both vaccines. No side effects at all

as141 · 26/04/2021 20:46

Yes and ive had it (both doses)

Nodal · 26/04/2021 20:48

What is the point of all these constant wil you/won't you have the vaccine jab? Trying to froth up some sort of agenda? Just make your own mind up and get on with it, everything that can possibly be said on the subject has already been said.

ConnieDobbs · 26/04/2021 20:50

Yes. I'm 42 with asthma but not bad enough to be in the priority group. However I had it because I'm worried about long covid and to give extra protection to the vulnerable eg my parents
