I had my vaccine two weeks ago...no period and its been two weeks!Anyone else had a delayed period?

I was late an extremely light the month of my vaccine, never thought to put two and two together. Instead I was doing a pregnancy test and was very relieved to find it was negative. Is anyone else finding this worrying? I read the leaflet I was given with the vaccine, but don't remember this being mentioned as a side effect. I'm going to have a look for it and read again.

LolaAnn12 · 04/04/2021 17:52

Had vaccine on 15th March and currently 2 weeks late

LolaAnn12 · 04/04/2021 17:57

Actually was 10th March I had vaccine

theotherfossilsister · 04/04/2021 18:00

I don't think it's worrying in itself. One missed period is fine and will only have affected ovulation and therefore fertility for the month it's missed. It would be good if it did get listed as a side effect to stop women worrying about what's wrong though.

Kidssendingmenuts · 04/04/2021 18:01

How strange! Glad I came upon this thread as I was due on two weeks ago and I'm usually like clockwork every 21 days. Currently nothing, I'm not complaining to be fair as I get migraines when on my period which knock me for six. Had my jab two weeks ago as well on the Saturday as was due on Sunday/Monday

StainlessSteelCat · 04/04/2021 18:07

I had vaccine 2 weeks ago, about the time my period was due to start (I'm not regular to the day, but within a couple). My period has eventually started over 2 weeks late - I also had to do a pregnancy test to rule that out. I've also had the hot flushes, so had begun to think I had started the menopause due to my age and previous perimenopause symptoms. Am relieved to find this thread, and am going to go find the yellow card to report it. Like a pp said, it would be good to know if this is a possible side effect, would have saved me some worry!

Finally got my period yesterday on day 55. I had a bad headache for three days before period arrived. I'm sure it's just a monthly blip.

HolmeH · 04/04/2021 19:23

It’s an odd side effect but it’ll just be like when you are poorly & it causes ovulation to either skip a month or be late. I’m really prone to my periods being affected by illness, stress or if I eat a lot less than normal on a diet (but not shockingly so, maybe 1,500 calories a day).. it’s quite common for me to be late or skip when any of that happens 😫 but I have two kids who I fell pregnant with on first try both times.. so clearly not a fertility issue. Just a sensitive body!

fightingSmiths · 04/04/2021 19:43

mine was 2 days late but it happens from time to time. And it was a bit lighter than usually. Never occurred to me it could be linked to my AZ vaccine though

Cherryblossom7 · 05/04/2021 00:50

More than a week late now and no chance that I'm pregnant!

greenlynx · 05/04/2021 13:59

I’ve got my period yesterday on the 60th day!
I had my jab at the end of February on 21st day of cycle and then no period until yesterday. I knew that I was not pregnant and could have menopause at my age (my cycle started to jump already). I even announced excitedly to DH that my periods stopped....
It started me wondering about the effect of vaccine on the body. I’m not sure about reporting it as in my case it might be menopause rather then vaccine. Hope it’s not something else, this area is not my strongest.
DD had Pfizer so it’s difficult to compare, and anyway her period due in a week.

moregarlic · 05/04/2021 14:40

You really all should report this as a side effect. It’s so important it’s flagged.

iMatter · 05/04/2021 14:48

Mine arrived a couple of days early, was nice and light (normally it's period carnage for me) and then boom an extra week of hideousness, worst period ever in terms of volume of blood.

Pubbles123 · 05/04/2021 15:00

I’ve actually found this thread fascinating! I’ve had covid (long covid) and it completely messed my periods up for 6 months, they were regular and normal ish before, became erratic and super super heavy / clots. They’re back to normal now. Not suggesting this will happen post vaccine but interesting it’s affecting people. There are thousands of long covid suffering females complaining of this too.

GlitzAndGlamour26 · 06/04/2021 12:26

This is so annoying!

I’m 31 too and had my vaccination on the 20th of March and am now also 10 days late. I’m worried tbh. I’ve just had spotting for the last week but nothing more than that.

I have reported. It's not a huge problem but would be nice if they told people before hand to prevent anxiety or misplaced hope.

Disfordarkchocolate · 07/04/2021 14:53

Reported but it felt a bit of a faff. It's a pity you can't report on the NHS app so it already has my details and medication.

Hidinginthetoilet · 08/04/2021 08:42

I had the astrazeneca vaccine on 28th Feb, the first dose. I am now 11 days late for my usually on time period. I've had the pains and some very light spotting but that's it so far. I am still waiting to come on. I've done several pregnancy tests to rule that out even though I have filshie clips on my fallopian tubes to prevent me getting pregnant anymore. All of the pregnancy tests have come up negative. I am 32 so doubt it could be menopause. My partner is an anti-vaxxer and has been insisting its because I had the vaccine that my period is late. I thought he was talking utter rubbish until I came here and saw so many of you have had the same happen. Surely it can't just be a coincidence that SO many of us have had late periods after having the vaccine??! I have reported it as a side effect to covid 19 yellow card now.
Fingers crossed I come on soon as I hate having the period pains when I'm not even bleeding! Confused

HoldOnToHope · 08/04/2021 09:23

Jumping on here as I've just realised that I've not had my period after the AZ vaccine. Last period started 12/02 and my cycle is usually 25-30 days long. I had my vaccine 21/02.

HoldOnToHope · 08/04/2021 09:24

To add, I'm 30 and no chance of being pregnant.

lavenderlou · 08/04/2021 09:27

Interesting. I was due mine and it is now several days late. I reported it as a side effect.

Nora1978 · 08/04/2021 09:41

Feeling increasingly concerned about the vaccine, it seems to be yet another thing that disproportionately affects women.

Lgrj · 08/04/2021 14:57

I also have a missed period since the astra zenica vaccine which was 3 weeks ago. I was due to have one around the time of the vaccine. Nothing since. Are there any sites of further info for this . Im worried its thrown me into early menopause. Im 47
