Exercise is now once a day by law?

I’m confused. I thought Boris said it was unlimited. It definitely says once a day in the new lockdown guidance:

You can continue to exercise alone, with one other person or with your household or support bubble. This should be limited to once per day, and you should not travel outside your local area. You should maintain social distancing. See exercising and meeting other people.

Police chief council's chairman on BBC just said staying local is guidance not law, responsibility is urged. Policed in proportionate and common sense way

Stay local means stay in the village, town, or part of the city where you live

Define 'the part of the city where you live' though. Is it your postcode? Does it mean a mile from your home? Three? Where I live I can walk four miles and still be in my postcode area.

It's so open to interpretation.

The gov have tried to not to put too much in law as otherwise it can have unintended consequences....ie the police in the county adjacent to where we live started mounting "boarder patrols" stating we shouldn't be entering the county. What is ridiculous is that we live 100m from the boarder and the local town is the nearest and all our walks cross over. Utterly ridiculous and also unlawful and really winds people up trying to just do their shopping!

The daft thing is that the only others shops are much further away but within the same county as we live!
