...by meeting up with several people from different households for hours at a time, either in parks / their homes / travelling around and about the city?

I get that being at home is trying, frustrating and difficult for all of us, but she says she doesn't agree with that rule so she isn't going to follow it!

How old is she?

ohtobeanonymous · 29/12/2020 19:14

just turned 17.

Jesus, no, it's not ok to report her!

ilovesooty · 29/12/2020 19:16

So she doesn't care about responsibility to her own family? No idea what I'd do but that's appalling.

IceCreamAndCandyfloss · 29/12/2020 19:17

She’s not an adult so issue consequences and discipline her. I’d be grounding her for a start at the very least.

LobotheBotanist · 29/12/2020 19:18

Who would report their own kid for this?!

Would you tell her it was you?

Tenyearsgone · 29/12/2020 19:18

Don't report your own child! What good do you think it will do?

Oh and don't believe anyone who comes along and says they would, they wouldn't.

Confusedandshaken · 29/12/2020 19:18

Report her to who? The people to take action here are her parents.

JorisBonson · 29/12/2020 19:18

This.
SleepingStandingUp · 29/12/2020 19:18

So you presumably happy to have no relationship with you? At 17 so not an adult would they even do anything or would it be to the parents?

I think 17 is a tricky age. Not young enough to ground, not old enough to live independently so the "under my roof" thing only works of you'll happily see her on the streets.

Is anyone in your home at extra risk? Will she be back in college / school shortly?

Lookslikerainted · 29/12/2020 19:18

How would she pay the fine!? You’d end up having to pay it. Don’t report her.

MotheringShites · 29/12/2020 19:18

Seriously?? Would anyone really do that to their own child?

Tenyearsgone · 29/12/2020 19:18

Good luck with grounding a 17 year old. 😂

Bluebird2021 · 29/12/2020 19:19

you are responsible though.....its your kid!!!

formerbabe · 29/12/2020 19:20

Dear god, is this what we've become...

Plsv87 · 29/12/2020 19:20

Report her to who? 😂😂😂

Thatsnotmynamename · 29/12/2020 19:21

Who will you report it to and what do you think they will do?

Honestly- outside of a huge house party or a pub illegally opening, it is not going to be policed.

Givemeabreak88 · 29/12/2020 19:21

You’re the parent 🤦‍♀️

GintyMcGinty · 29/12/2020 19:22

Completely U to report.

Plus the police have enough to do without this kind of crap.

turnthebiglightoff · 29/12/2020 19:22

Report to whom?

nosswith · 29/12/2020 19:22

Do not just report her, report the person who hosted the event.

yahyahs22 · 29/12/2020 19:24

Poor girl, no wonder she needs space. Her own mother would happily report her to authorities and get her in trouble than discipline her herself. Outrageous

thefirstmrsrochester · 29/12/2020 19:26

Don’t report your child, what we are living through is punishing enough, don’t make it worse.

fluffiphlox · 29/12/2020 19:26

Blimey.

MajesticWhine · 29/12/2020 19:26

Glad it's not just my teens then.
