NowellSingWe · 29/12/2020 16:43

Fucking hell. This will surely only increase over next seven days after all the Christmas mixing?

AaronPurr · 29/12/2020 16:45

Bloody hell!! Shock

Beebityboo · 29/12/2020 16:46

Time to open the schools! What the actual fuck is happening.

PumpkinPie2016 · 29/12/2020 16:46

Probably @NowellSingWe

HollyJollyDillydolly · 29/12/2020 16:46

SabrinaTheMiddleAgedBitch · 29/12/2020 16:46

They can't keep schools open, primary or secondary surely? Thats madness

AaronPurr · 29/12/2020 16:48

Yep. I also suspect the rise in cases is partly because a lot of people put off testing so they could mix at Christmas. Sad
MrsHedgeLegs · 29/12/2020 16:48

Tests are inaccurate.

OverTheRainbow88 · 29/12/2020 16:49

Is there maybe a delay because Christmas so these are a build up from before Christmas?

squiddybear · 29/12/2020 16:49

It's scary

Ginfordinner · 29/12/2020 16:49

Where are the covid deniers now?

MistletoeandGin · 29/12/2020 16:49

There is a Christmas backlog.

Noellodee · 29/12/2020 16:50

@MrsHedgeLegs

Tests are inaccurate.
They haven't got more inaccurate in the past week, though, have they?
AKissAndASmile · 29/12/2020 16:50

Wtf

Barbie222 · 29/12/2020 16:50

Not for cases, unfortunately. There is some delay with reporting deaths

PhylisPrice · 29/12/2020 16:50

Sire news last night said Scotland and Wales hadn't reported for a few days so it's probably that. Still bloody scary though!

Alb1 · 29/12/2020 16:51

I wonder if it’s partly because Northern Ireland weren’t adding their numbers in from 23rd-28th December, so maybe these have been added in today? I don’t no that for sure though, just speculation.

LizzieSiddal · 29/12/2020 16:51

Bloody hell! Horrific. I feel so sorry for the medical staff who will have to deal with the increase in hospital admissions. They must be at the ending their tethers. Sad

Some countries didn't report over Christmas so there's a backlog coming through. The dashboard shows cases by date reported and also by date tested which gives a more accurate figure (albeit with a lag)
SilverGlitterBaubles · 29/12/2020 16:51

Christmas backlog of results? Does this include all regions as previously NI and Scotland if I recall were not reporting for the Christmas holidays.

Flaxmeadow · 29/12/2020 16:52

Where are the covid deniers now?

Was just going to post the same.

God help the NHS in the next few weeks

They have been reporting cases not deaths.
FestiveFannyGallops · 29/12/2020 16:53

Does that include Scotland, Wales and NI? I know not all of the UK was reporting over Christmas so wonder if that includes the backlog. Fucking scary either way. My area has doubled in the last week.
