Just been announced. What this time?

Just came to post exactly the same!

Probably to stop any panic buying and discuss the Border issues.

Interesting, is this so he can blame the French and threaten them with navy gunboats again?

It’s just going to be reassurance that there’s nothing to worry about really, just follow the rules, stop panic buying (not that anyone actually is), etc.

BBC: "UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson is to hold a press conference at Downing Street later to provide updates on the response to the coronavirus pandemic.
"It comes as a growing list of countries have banned arrivals from the UK because of concerns at the spread of a new variant of coronavirus"

It doesn't say what time, but that's quite a hint it's about travel, freight, panic buying etc. And maybe Brexit deal or no deal?

If you read on sky news underneath where it says the press conference has been announced it tells you there what he's expected to talk about.

Not as dramatic as speculating on MN tho.

Boris Johnson will hold a news conference later today after emergency COBRA meeting

The prime minister is chairing a COBRA meeting at 2pm.

He is likely to address the travel restrictions being imposed on UK travellers and the tougher measures implemented over the weekend.

Announcing the news conference, the prime minister's spokesperson also said the harsh restrictions will not be kept in place any longer than necessary.

They also tried to quell concerns about disruption at the border, saying the government is working closely with its French counterparts and that the UK has sufficient doses of the Pfizer jab to continue vaccination.

Sure, so long as you don't mind a socially distanced blanket fort, you don't live in a tier 4 area, and can bring your own food.

Johnson will talk his usual drivel.

At the end of the day we are at nearly 70,000 deaths, the test and trace is an utter disaster, millions of pounds wasted on it, the rest of Europe wont let us near them and we are starting to make Trumps USA look well run.

Well, that would be awesome. I'll go pop some wine in the fridge on the off-chance. You never know.

Although I expect it's to tell us that we will still get food into the country and please don't raid the supermarket shelves.

@FourTeaFallOut I don't usually drink at home but I will make an allowance for this! 90% sure I am wrong here's hoping though
