Waiting for DD and I..
I've had a slightly sore throat since last Monday, but I've been doing DIY, fitting a laminate floor, sanding, painting etc, and very very stressed at work (also smoked a bit, usually only do once in a blue moon 😊) so I thought nothing of it. Also get tonsillitis about 4 times a year, often get sore throats... Then DD started with a weird face rash, took her to the pharmacy Friday, expecting them to say its eczema... She said looks viral, phone gp... Gp says take Piriton... Whilst googling rash, it appears around 8% of people get one with covid! Meanwhile it's getting worse, I still have a sore throat.. So had test yesterday at 1.30pm.
I keep frantically refreshing... If I'm positive or DD is, then fairly recently ex DH will have to isolate too, and will probably have to isolate here, as otherwise he won't see the kids and will be alone for Xmas... The thought gives me the cringe so fingers 🤞🤞 it would mean spending several days with him, I really really don't want to 😭

Kitty2018 · 22/12/2020 19:49

Just got my result now - negative 😅
So about 56 hours or so

HairyMaclary · 22/12/2020 19:52

50 hours...
Sw London walk through. Tested Sunday.
Feel fine now, hoping for a negative so I can do a ‘clean drop’ of presents to parents and in laws tomorrow.

oep17 · 22/12/2020 20:43

I’ve been waiting 60 hours for results and still sign of them. Tested Sunday morning at 8am. I’m a HCP too so usually would be prioritised. It’s driving me insane

oep17 · 22/12/2020 20:44

I’m Kent also so a high risk area, they really need to work on sorting the testing out people, especially healthcare workers, can’t wait 3 days for results

Ruby1991 · 22/12/2020 21:50

I know two people who tested yesterday one at 9.30 and one at 1.30 both at different south london cents. Both got their results this evening. I did mine 2pm yday at a different south London center to both and still waiting

Theghostofchristmasarse · 22/12/2020 22:58

I'm a key worker, although teaching so felt bad ticking the box, but did my test in Maidstone esterday, 1.30, negative result today, thank god. Still no result for DD though, test done same time. Fingers crossed!

FireUnderpants · 22/12/2020 23:05

DD1 had a test at Stansted airport car park, 30 hours ago and still waiting. On the drive back I had a call from dd2s school to say she needs to self isolate. She now has a cough and headache and ds has a high temp. Back to Stansted first thing tomorrow. Ffs.

cheekkatb · 22/12/2020 23:14

I’m in Bedfordshire. Test was 12:30 Monday afternoon got (negative) result back at 9am tues morning. 20.5hr turnaround time, I was very impressed.

TravellingSpoon · 22/12/2020 23:28

I'm in Leicester. Took a test on Sunday and am still waiting for the results. I dont think I have covid, just feeling zapped of energy and my chest aches, but I do have a cough so javent been able to go to work since Sunday. I want to know quickly so I can go back to work.

I have them weekly and they are normally much quicker than this. Normally about 36 hours but think the labs are just overwhelmed.

Fluffypyjamasandgin · 23/12/2020 05:46

Ds16 had a test on Monday at 11.30am and got the results back last night at 8pm - negative. Thank goodness! (I'm CEV) (northants)

sweetchristmastime · 23/12/2020 07:25

South East. Tested 9.00 am yesterday at drive in. Waiting

Ruby1991 · 23/12/2020 08:46

42 hours, still waiting

TravellingSpoon · 23/12/2020 09:51

My Negative result came back this morning at 3.12am. So happy I can go back to work tomorrow.

Lululatch · 23/12/2020 10:13

South East. Dh tested yesterday at 8am. Would really like to be able to walk the dog- so hopefully results soon

JustPurple · 23/12/2020 10:47

I've still not heard anything from Friday 18th. Over 115 hours now.

This is from a drive in test in Yorkshire. I've phoned again and they've said they will email the lab tomorrow if I phone back.

oep17 · 23/12/2020 10:52

How awful for you @JustPurple, I have been waiting 75 hours now and just have a feeling they aren’t going to turn up. So frustrating waiting

Mydarlingsleepthief · 23/12/2020 13:20

48 hours here

MangoM · 23/12/2020 13:31

Me and DS just returned home from a test at 12.30 today. We're in Leeds. Let's see how long it takes. Although judging by the most recent posts we'll likely still be waiting for them on Christmas Day

Lurleene · 23/12/2020 13:34

DH has been waiting 51 hours so far, I can't help thinking we will still be none the wiser come Christmas Day. He seems fine now but obviously we won't be risking coming into contact with anyone til we get the all clear.

If we miss out on seeing our DD on Christmas Day, then get a negative result afterwards, I will be completely gutted.

Disgruntledpelicans · 23/12/2020 14:03

I tested in the East of England yesterday at 11.30am and he told me people had been getting them back the same day, so of course I got myself all excited. I've still not heard anything thing. I'm certain what I have is a chest infection and I'm desperate for some antibiotics but I know I can't get anything until I get a negative result. I am feeling absolutely horrendous.

BookShark · 23/12/2020 15:25

50 hours so far. Wouldn't mind so much if I knew it was going to be lunchtime tomorrow (say), it's not knowing how long I'll be left in limbo that's getting to me.

Ruby1991 · 23/12/2020 15:27

Same, 30 mins short of 50 hours now. Getting a bit impatient now as ppl who test same day got theirs back yesterday ;(

DieCryHate · 23/12/2020 15:31

Joining the 50 hour wait club too.

NeurologicallySpeaking · 23/12/2020 15:31

50 hours and still waiting
