Waiting for test results...anyone else?

Took test at a test centre 8pm Thursday. Nothing back yet.

Anyone else waiting or got any insight into average London wait times?

58hrs and counting

80 hours here ! Tier 4 Essex. Waiting for DD postal test result. I guess they must be at capacity now what with all the truck drivers? Are they giving them PCR or lateral flow tests?

I've done an Nhs test today and a private (instant) test will arrive tomorrow. I'm very anxious. My son came back from London on sat (in that window...) since then two of his housemates have tested positive.

I'm 60, I have always been susceptible to respiratory illnesses.

Results came through about midnight, so about 34 hrs.

DS and I have both tested positive.

I’ve been waiting 4 days now. I just know they are going to have lost them. Has anyone waited this long and still got their results?

Around 40 hours wait here, got them this morning - all negative. Central London drive through.

Just got mine 60 hours after post collection- negative

I'm still waiting - had a test tuesday pm at a local drive in centre, after a colleague tested positive. I've had a horrendous sore throat, now have a chesty cough and bone crunching headache. Have cancelled all visitors for Christmas day apart from grandkids so am desperately hoping the results come back today. They've all had colds recently so I'm praying it's that.

Feeling incredibly angry with said colleague whose partner chose to go to a high risk area to see family, got Covid and has since infected 4 other family members. FFS.

I took a drive through test at 11am on Tuesday, had the results back at 6am today. I tested positive.

It started with aching calf muscles and a pain in the middle of my upper back, then the generally unwell feeling came along. I lost my sense of smell on the 22nd which still hasn't returned... a cough developed last night but no temperature.

Had test on Monday (no symptoms, I'm education staff in tier 4, we've all had one), told to self isolate later that evening due to a child at work testing positive. Test should have been back in 24 -48 hours. Finally got it back early hours of this morning -and as my username says, they couldn't read it. I guess its immaterial as I still have to isolate for ten days regardless, but annoying even so.
I feel fine, none of the main symptoms as yet, so hoping it stays that way.

Does anyone know what happens if you just don't get your results back?

Mon has been almost 140 hours now. I've phoned to chase it a few times and they say they've emailed the lab. They couldn't tell me if it will still come back or whether it's lost. Do I need a new test?

Sorry you are still waiting JustPurple. I'm not an expert but I would think if you have been waiting this long you would have passed the timeframe for testing.

Still waiting on DHs result, 72 hours now.

Ours just came through - 72 hours on the nose. East mids

Still waiting - posted 6pm on Monday in SE England, so about 66 hours so far. Not that hopeful about hearing today 😔

Got two results out of four just now (negative). Hope the other two turn up soon.

They were postal tests, collection from post box was Monday at 5pm. So 68 hours.

Should have said we are Central Bedfordshire.

Still waiting here now 77 hours... walk through test centre in Lancashire. It's for my son who was vomiting badly but then had a temperature but only for a couple of hours but we tested due to temp and also people saying children had presented with gastric issues.

76 hours and got it back - negative.

@JustPurple I would book a new one. My DD had one that didn’t come back after 5 days and they said they would chase but another might be quicker. They were right, new one came back in 24hr and the previous one finally turned up after 9 days!

I’m in london. I’ve just reached the 48hr mark. Can’t imagine I’ll hear anything for another day or two now.

Will results still come through on Christmas and Boxing Day do you reckon?

We've reached 72hrs here and still waiting.

76hrs - looks like I will be spending xmas on my own. I thought i would definitely get the results back in time :-(

So 3 hours after got two of our four results and still waiting for the other two results. So 71 hours and counting.

Oh that's a shame, TheNortherner hope you have some lovely food in, just in case.
