Took test at a test centre 8pm Thursday. Nothing back yet.

Anyone else waiting or got any insight into average London wait times?

Can’t stop checking my emails and texts Confused

Took mine 10am Thursday, got my text just after 1pm today.

paxman · 19/12/2020 20:56

Got mine just now, negative.

MolyHolyGuacamole · 19/12/2020 21:08

@Youngatheart00

Are people (in England) receiving results by text or email first?
@Youngatheart00 I got the text first, shortly followed by the email
Youngatheart00 · 19/12/2020 21:10

Glad yours is back and negative, @paxman

Negative for you too, @MolyHolyGuacamole?

I think I’m just needing some reassurance I will get my result (and it’s not been lost) and that other illnesses still exist!!

MolyHolyGuacamole · 19/12/2020 23:40

@Youngatheart00 yes, negative!

Youngatheart00 · 20/12/2020 07:36

Still waiting 😫

Me too. 66 hours.
I’m going to phone them when it hits the 72hour mark to make sure it’s not lost and is registered etc

Clearasmuddypuddles · 20/12/2020 08:04

Oh gosh this isn’t what I wanted to read. I have to take my 4 year old this morning as he has a cough. I’m sure it’s just a cold but I’m doing the right thing. I’ve got no food in and no-one who can shop for us.

NoliteTeBastardesCarborundorum · 20/12/2020 08:19

Got mine this morning- 71 hours (SE London).

CatVsChristmasTree · 20/12/2020 08:52

Got mine around 6am, all negative. So 59 hours.

Can you get a click and collect order where they put the groceries straight in your boot? Not ideal, but obviously you need food. I had to go in the petrol station after our test as we didn't have enough fuel to get home. Felt awful about it, but was only in there 30 seconds and practically held my breath!

Don't loose too much hope of a quick turn around definitely think its luck of the draw got my one year old tested Friday at 1630 in the SE (welyn garden city) and got results back last night at 2100(negative - yey can now do last minute food shopping due to tier 4) so about 28 1/2 hours xx
Clearasmuddypuddles · 20/12/2020 09:02

@CatVsChristmasTree there are no slots at all for click and collect or delivery until after Xmas. I was planning on doing the supermarket shop tomorrow morning.

I’m really hoping it doesn’t come back inconclusive. It was a nightmare to swab him and his nose is so runny.

Tyranttoddler · 20/12/2020 09:02

Waiting here too, 8pm Friday eve

Oldtimer2020 · 20/12/2020 09:10

Just hit the 5 day mark. We are going stir crazy. Surely they’ve lost the test?!?!?!

Clearasmuddypuddles · 20/12/2020 09:15

@Oldtimer2020 have you phoned up? It says to ring if you have waited for 72 hours.

I was told 24 hours when I did one this morning- im not at all hopeful that will be the case.

Tyranttoddler · 20/12/2020 09:24

Mine just came back so 36 hours but only 1 actual day

Youngatheart00 · 20/12/2020 09:41

How are the timings so variable??!

It’s just so frustrating

OP posts:
Oldtimer2020 · 20/12/2020 09:48

@Clearasmuddypuddles

Have rung 3 x. Even burst into tiers (see what I did there) with frustration the last time. Their system won’t let them chase a test until 5 days have passed, so effectively when you are in day 6. 7am tomorrow I’m on that phone!

ISBN111 · 20/12/2020 09:51

I guess it depends how far the test centre is fro the lab and how busy each lab is

I was hoping for a quick turnaround, as I have previous experience of a 12 hr turnaround, , but that might have been optimistic! I had a test yesterday afternoon and am in the north.

Houseplantmad · 20/12/2020 09:51

Had mine 9am Friday. Negative result texted 7am Saturday.

ISBN111 · 20/12/2020 09:52

Oldtimer, that’s baaad. Sorry to hear that.

Youngatheart00 · 20/12/2020 09:53

Is there any correlation between longer response times and positive results??

OP posts:
ISBN111 · 20/12/2020 09:53

Houseplant where are you?

Houseplantmad · 20/12/2020 10:09

@ISBN111 SW London. Test done at Kingston.
