Waiting for test results...anyone else?

Took test at a test centre 8pm Thursday. Nothing back yet.

Anyone else waiting or got any insight into average London wait times?

@TheSpottedZebra I can make do i just feel really bad because my mum and dad were looking forward to having me over and have gone to a lot of trouble and I wouldn't feel bad saying I can't come if i am positive, but saying i can't come because i dont know is hard.

@TheNortherner also missing out on plans due to the lack of a result. I'm fortunate I'll still be with my immediate family but you're so right, it's the possibility that we're missing out "just in case", rather than because we know we need to. I'm secretly still hopeful to hear overnight but I know it's pretty unlikely on Christmas Eve. Really hope your results come back in time to see your parents 🎄

Got my result at 6.40pm, positive 😖. We’ve only just finished isolating for DD’s positive result so that’s us locked in until New Year’s Day.

Can’t believe it only took just over 24hrs in Kent!

Sorry for everyone who has had a positive result or is still waiting.

We are 84 hours in and no sign of DHs result. We were expecting DD tomorrow but she has had to make alternative arrangements so we won't be seeing her now even if we do get a last minute negative. I know there are people far far worse off but I am pretty gutted.

I hope you all get to make the best of it tomorrow and those with positive results aren't too badly affected.

I'm still waiting. Have cancelled parents coming tomorrow as it;s just too risky, and had the panic of trying to get food to them as they weren't prepared.

DD wants to still come with grandchildren - I'm now at 54 hours since test. Literally could sit and fucking cry. In Gloucestershire.

85 hours since posting. Wondered if I might wake up to something but alas no.

Santastealer. The collections are made twice a day from walk in centres.

Finally got DHs result at 8.30 tonight, 104 hours after the test so there must be a backlog. Negative luckily.

I've given up on my result coming back. It's been over 7 days now and even when I've chased it up I am no clearer on what's supposed to happen next.

I don't think I'll get my result, I've been waiting since Monday.

@JustPurple i feel your frustration. 6 days waiting here. They have emailed the lab but I’m not hopeful for getting anything now. So disappointing

Fingers crossed us 5-7 day people are caught in the same backlog and will still get a result at some point soon? I'm day 6 and they just said they'll call the lab but to assume it's lost if there's no other contact in the next three days. I think my isolation period is over now anyway though based on when I first got symptoms (took a while to be able to get a test) so doesn't mean a lot now!

My dd and I got a test done at 1.30pm yesterday and results came through at 3am so not long at all.

My dd is positive and mine was negative yet I’m the one coughing! 😮. I guess it’s good timing in some ways. Me and the children are off school and work until the isolation period ends (unless someone else gets symptoms) so won’t lose any pay or education between us. Tier 4 from today so wouldn’t have been able to do much anyway.

108. Results finally back this morning. Tested positive.

I got my results this morning at 6am, negative. I did the test on Wednesday.

We did ours 1.30pm yesterday and got results in email at 3am. Very quick turn around. Mine was negative, my dd was positive.

106 hours and still waiting. Self isolation period ends tomorrow 🤷‍♀️

Joining. Tested yesterday at 11.30 so almost 24 hours so far.....

I tested 3pm Xmas Eve. Still no result. My only symptom loss of taste and smell. Just bloody typical could not taste anything of the Xmas dinner.

Still waiting at 101 hours. I really feel for people who are very poorly and having to wait so long. It's crazy that people are getting results back within 24 hours and others are waiting several days. I expected longer than 24 hours over Christmas period but never expected to wait this long.

144hrs and waiting here. Phoned to chase results, the computer says ' we are too busy. Goodbye.'

Still waiting for DS's! He was tested with DH on 22nd December at 10am. DH got his result the next morning at 7am. Called the 119 number this morning and was on hold for ages. Finally got through, only to be told to call back again tomorrow. FFS! How can two people's tests, taken at the same time in the same car on the same day at the same centre, be processed this way?! Can only assume DS's test has been 'lost' now

I’ve been waiting 100 hours now and am so frustrated. I’ve now ordered a postal one because I need to know for work but am too ill to go to the walk through testing one again.

120 hours here. DH got his after 33 hours. Myself and DD still waiting. We did home tests and are in Hertfordshire
