So happy that my partner and big family can all be together this year. We are all really close and get on brilliantly. So pleased at the news today!

Source? I have not seen anything confirmed.

So?
MaxNormal · 22/11/2020 20:46
Oh ffs
Bluewavescrashing · 22/11/2020 20:47
How will you feel if one of your relatives becomes very sick 2 weeks later?
Tomatoandbasil · 22/11/2020 20:48
Possible source saying 3 households

Aren't we just storing up issues for Jan/Feb?
Figgygal · 22/11/2020 20:49
Nope
Flights home to my family cancelled - not seen them for a year
In-laws don’t want to see us due to risk from schools
Xmas at home for the 4 of us still
Enjoy Spike 3 end Jan/start Feb when everyone rush together giving the virus opportunity to spread
OxanaVorontsova · 22/11/2020 20:50
Anyone with any sense will ignore encouragement to mix households
starfro · 22/11/2020 20:52
Brilliant news.
What's with all the misery trolls on here?

Are you serious

Misery Trolls
You mean people with common sense?
ilikebooksandplants · 22/11/2020 20:53
I’m a bit confused about the (potential) relaxation being floated but I don’t know if I’m just being really stupid.
If I go and stay with my family for two weeks (but stay within that bubble, and don’t socialise outside of it) will that a) be breaking the law and b) any more risky than staying for five days?
Sorry, I just can’t work out what is sensible anymore because my head is battered by it all!
tortoiseshell1985 · 22/11/2020 20:54
Yeah, thrilled at police state dictatorship
Nyancat · 22/11/2020 20:54
Nope family still don't want to see us cos of kids at school and dh working in covid icu. And another spike in Jan/Feb so we'll see even less of him again. Happy fucking christmas
Choirbells · 22/11/2020 20:54
This is stupid, all this for Christmas celebrations, seriously, we will indeed pay for this big time!!
Legoandloldolls · 22/11/2020 20:56
It will be interesting to see the finer details of this tomorrow. They are saying a five day window. I just imagine the M25 now.
I'm not sure my mum will wont to see us. It's just starting to kick off in local schools. We have a 100 odd cases per 100,000 but dm area is 350 odd. I dont think she will be chuffed to see my brood of kids. I'm not sure we be covid free either by then dur to the local school numbers
Fittata · 22/11/2020 20:58
I'm worried about this. With a vaccine coming so soon is it really worth taking the risk to mix 3 households? I would rather wait a few more months. No, it's not easy not seeing family but neither is getting covid...
I'm worried that we will feel pressured by some parts of our family to meet up. But they are the ones who haven't been careful at all throughout the pandemic and even grumble about having to wash their hands! Not sure how to handle this without offending them, but I just don't want to take the risk for my family.
AlwaysLatte · 22/11/2020 20:58
Hopefully the more intelligent will realise that just because you could doesn't mean you should.
It's legal to throw 1000 plastic bottles into the bin every day. But we're all in trouble if you do.
Sparklingbrook · 22/11/2020 20:59
I didn't particularly want Christmas saved. That said we aren't going visiting or having any visitors because we would like to try and stay safe. We haven't been careful since April just to blow it all at this point.

Oh yippee.
Pipandmum · 22/11/2020 20:59
Good news. However doesn't help us - if we were to see anyone it would have been before the 24th or after the 28th as my family lives too far away and we spend Christmas at home.
starfro · 22/11/2020 21:01
Pandemic is over, we're past the 2nd peak. All the data shows that. Christmas mixing will make no difference in the long term.
Sadly a complete dumbing down of science and maths education has led to some of the opinions on here.
whatswithtodaytoday · 22/11/2020 21:02
Boris can't bear not to be liked, can he. Utterly ridiculous.
cruzrack · 22/11/2020 21:03
Anyone who genuinely thinks this is a good thing is seriously deluded! Cannot believe some people.
