So will anyone comply now?

These pages all seem to have been about how the rules make no sense, there's no point while schools are open and people saying they'll assess their own risk but they're not going to risk their MH etc etc

Will this make a difference? It Doesn't matter what the rules are if no one follows them.

There plenty non-compilers can do - have parties, not wear masks in supermarkets etc even when they’re not exempt, go round to friends and families places, travel around the country, and the police can largely do fuck all to enforce it.

I’m in a house share similar to the one user1471588124 is in and I absolutely will be seeing friends at their houses.

RedRiverShore · 31/10/2020 20:55

I doubt they will be able to police what goes on in people’s houses, it’s a lot harder to see what’s going on in the dark, it’s not like the summer when people were in their gardens, most people have their curtains drawn quite early.

littlenickyy61 · 31/10/2020 20:56

I will comply but with schools and unis still open ( and I understand why they are doing this ) I don't think the effect will be as great on slowing the virus rate as before. You only had to look at the all the graphs tonight to see quite clearly that the rates only started to rise again when the schools and unis went back.

Unsure33 · 31/10/2020 20:58

Of course it will because bars etc will be shut .

If other people are breaking the rules I hope they will stop now.

But some of this increase is apparently due to a virus mutation. So let’s see .

And try not to prejudge

Completmentfille · 31/10/2020 20:58

I won't have any large gatherings but I'll still be seeing my mum and sisters.

MercyBooth · 31/10/2020 20:58

I think a lot of people who complied with the first lockdown wont comply with this one. It doesnt help that the Government have already laid blame on the public in some of the press conferences.

Barbie222 · 31/10/2020 20:59

There won't be anything open, so how will you not comply?

I think we will be sitting here in four weeks scratching our heads though, wondering why on earth it hasn't worked.

Orcus · 31/10/2020 20:59

Of course they won't, and anecdotally the people I know who have actually been fined are the ones who were taking the piss. Gatherings so big that either the police notice or one of the neighbours gets pissed off with the noise and shops them. If you have people round quietly and discreetly, it's only when coming in or out that guests would definitely be visible- obviously the garden option, though safer, is now substantially disincentivised.
Pomegranatespompom · 31/10/2020 21:00

Yes will comply- also don’t know anyone who hasn’t.

Lavenderseas · 31/10/2020 21:01

Yes, I will comply.

I will happily make sacrifices to keep hospitals and schools open!

Lovely1a2b3c · 31/10/2020 21:01

Yes we will. I don't want to do anything that could lead to someone's death.

annabel85 · 31/10/2020 21:01

Being in a tier 3 area I hope national restrictions will increase compliance. Otherwise we'll be back to tier 3 in 5 weeks.

Greenmarmalade · 31/10/2020 21:01

If my kids can mix at school, they should be able to meet at the park. I will comply, but I think this bit is mad.

Twillow · 31/10/2020 21:02

@AuntyPonsonby

We've tended to exercise, errr ... "discretion" shall we say, and we'll continue I think.

I'm guessing there's a reason why those who are more law-abiding think everyone they know is. Our non-abiding friends tend to only discuss this with other non-abiding friends!

And herein lies the reason for the virus to thrive. Most cases have been shown to be between home e.g. group of friends or family having an indoor sesh/ playdates/meals together and letting their guard down. Thinking there's no risk from people they know,

I simple don't believe folks don't know others who haven't broken rules.

Everybody absolutely not breached spacing rules at work?
Not 'accidentally' met up with a friend?
Absolutely haven't taken a parcel off the Amazon delivery guy in close proximity?

If ALL your friends have 100% complied, you have some liars amongst them.

This!
Remmy123 · 31/10/2020 21:05

Nope - had enough of this hysteria

VerticalHorizon · 31/10/2020 21:05

The kids are not supposed to mix in school.
They are supposed to operate in bubbles (the bubble can mix), but you can't mix bubbles. If anybody in the bubble gets it, the entire bubble should isolate.

The problem lies in having a bubble at school, but a different bubble (if any) at cubs, scouts, mosque etc - utterly defeating the point of the bubble.

mumwon · 31/10/2020 21:06

so we were doing child care but dh is over 70 with multiple (!!!!) health conditions which may/do affect his immunity
so we have to take the decision & stop child care for his sake as advised by Boris ( we do [part of the care at least the nursery is allowed to remain open)but I feel guilty still
I am not being unfair though am I?

AlexaShutUp · 31/10/2020 21:07

Yes. Have complied so far and will continue to do so. I'm not an irresponsible, selfish twat, so why wouldn't I?

Racoonworld · 31/10/2020 21:10

I’ll comply as Boris has allowed meeting one other person outside for walks. I think that is fair. I wouldn’t have complied if that hadn’t been allowed as I can’t be isolated from people for a month with a young baby.

Mustbe3ormorecharacters · 31/10/2020 21:10

@wheresmymojo

We'll comply as we have been doing the whole time, as has everyone I know in real life 🤷🏻‍♀️
Same as many others.
Sunflowers247 · 31/10/2020 21:10

Yes, we will comply 100%.

Anything to keep health care and education open!
