So will anyone comply now?

These pages all seem to have been about how the rules make no sense, there's no point while schools are open and people saying they'll assess their own risk but they're not going to risk their MH etc etc

Will this make a difference? It Doesn't matter what the rules are if no one follows them.

@RichardMarxisinnocent pubs were already on a curfew with restrictions making it difficult to go anyway, non essential shops, yes but lots are getting through a loophole there by selling a bit of food or a screwdriver! household mixing was already restricted...what else is there to leave home for??

I'll be making my own risk assessments. So send the army in and shoot me. 🤷‍♀️

Yes I will, as I don't want it to all be for nothing. Don't think I've broke any rules.

However whereas before I would not have dared take my child in the shops if I was desperate for a loaf of bread and dh was at work, or I rigidly stuck to the one exercise limit I won't worry about those things this time.

What Rot!!!
Protecting your own mental health is not being selfish.

Yeah and just end up having a break down. Im sure there'll be a queue around the block of peopele wanting to do my minimum wage, stressful and undervalued but essential job.

Its not such a binary choice, you need to get some empathy. Of course i care about deaths but i cant sacrifice my mental health entirely, and you asking that is selfish too.

Yes, dcs and I will comply - they are teens and taking it very seriously. But not much change for us - I work in school, (mix bubbles cant be helped) they are in school, food deliveries.

I think most people will comply - not much choice as things wont be open apart from essentials

I will be applying common sense to the situation.
I will continue to visit my mother with whom I am in a support bubble. I will also continue to visit my father (who is separated from my mother) who has some mental health issues. However I will probably meet him outside at his allotment or for dog walks.
I will also continue to visit a friend who is just beginning to come out the other side of a very bleak period of post natal depression and coming to terms with the challenges her child is likely to face after being born very prematurely.
I will however leave it 10 days or more between visiting my parents and visiting with my friend.

We’ll comply as we have been doing all along, but I really don’t recognise the high level of compliance that others have seen. Maybe I live in a particularly delinquent area, but the compliance around us has been terrible!

I'll comply, given its pretty much what we do now anyway Blush (barring swimming lessons which will be paused again)

Can I ask a stupid support bubble question?
I didn’t have a support bubble last time so this is new. I live with another adult but my friend doesn’t so we can be a bubble - that’s correct? So that means she can come to my house and I can go to hers? She is the only person me and the other adult in my house will be seeing.
It’s not just outside or can I still only see her outside? In the cold 😬😬😬

We'll comply as we have been doing the whole time, as has everyone I know in real life 🤷🏻‍♀️

Likewise.

There’s always a subsection who won’t comply. The same was true back in March. I can comply because it’s easy for me to do so. I’m not sacrificing a lot. Whatever other people do is on them. I can’t get het up about it because my way of dealing with it all is to just do me. I’ve been pretty successful in just switching off from everything else. That is what saves my mental health.

Yes will comply, already in tier 3 so not a huge change here. I feel very worried for all of my self employed and small business owner friends who are really struggling but also think a lockdown is what needs to happen right now.

Pubs will be shut as will restaurants.

I agree the household mixing will not be universally observed.

Schools fully open is a massive mistake, as pp said. There is no way to keep schools open as they are, and not spread the virus to adults in the community who may then die , or be left with permanent health issues.

I don't know anybody in real life who was absolutely complied, not one.

The vast majority seem to have adopted the attitude of 'we'll do as much as we can, but...' attitude.

I will comply but obviously not with the made up rules that will be trotted out on MN.

@Autumnblooms

I imagine you would be fined if you don’t comply?

You'd have to be pretty unlucky and/or blatant. It isn't actually possible to comprehensively police who 60 odd million people are having in their private homes.

@1stV45

Ove complied all through too butbthere have literally been 100s of posts here in the last few days of people saying they'll be having Christmas with family regardless, or there's no point stopping their kids mixing when they're going to school etc

Irrelevant really, as we still have no idea what the rules will be at Christmas.
