Place mark!

Thanks for the new thread @KitKatastrophe

Deliaskis · 15/10/2020 20:57

I'm choosing to declare that it is in itself good news, that we could fill 40 pages with good news! Grin

thereplycamefromanchorage · 15/10/2020 20:57

Joining in for the only thread in this topic I want to read. Thanks Kitkatastrophe

Jrobhatch29 · 15/10/2020 20:59

Thanks for the new thread! Smile

It’s just been reported. I’m assuming it’s exactly the same info as it’s behind a paywall

Clarity on this from the horse’s mouth, so to speak

Ooooh! Will this mean we won’t be too far behind I wonder

TheKeatingFive · 16/10/2020 14:25

Great to hear all this. God knows we need something to left the spirits.

chri55ie · 16/10/2020 14:36

That could be only 4 weeks away. I always thought the Oxford vaccine was the front runner so either Pfizer have overtaken or Oxford are playing cards close to their chest?! Still it’s welcome news

TheCountessofFitzdotterel · 16/10/2020 15:04

I suppose Pfizer must have overtaken. They were never that far behind anyway, were they?

Chickenandrice · 16/10/2020 15:05

Marking place

MadisonAvenue · 16/10/2020 15:20

This vaccine news is very interesting and very encouraging! Thanks so much for the links Smile

I think it just depends on which trial has enough participants contract the virus first. So a matter of luck and levels of virus in the population.
midgetem · 16/10/2020 15:35

I have been told that astrazeneca are expecting results end of November and are on a rolling review until these come through. Hopefully that means one of these vaccines will have results and approval shortly after! I've got all my fingers crossed. I think I will take anything to see an end to this!

chri55ie · 16/10/2020 15:48

And of course the Oxford vaccine is still on hold in the US....cynical me says is that because they wanted a US vaccine to be approved first?!

chri55ie · 16/10/2020 15:50

@midgetemOoo do you have that info on good authority?

SmilingAloe · 16/10/2020 16:00

Love these threads! Thanks to everyone who contributes 💐

midgetem · 16/10/2020 16:14

@chri55ie this is what my hospital consultant at Oxford told me (but he wouldn't say whether that's general instruction from NHS England for vaccine rollout or because he knows something) so probably not official line

tobee · 16/10/2020 16:49

That's what I've been wondering. U.S have been dissing the Oxford Vaccine for months.

Sebw · 16/10/2020 17:03

Matt Hancock has just tweeted about a recruitment drive for people who can give vaccines.

cathyandclare · 16/10/2020 17:08

Can you please link it Sebw? Might sign up :)
