And I do think that is part of the problem - we have hated the idea of post viral for so long and it has been denied that actually we cant say that this is worse because there is no data on any other.

Both myself and my daughters allergies have worsen (and stayed there) following viruses. DD had flu and has been on daily antihistamines ever since.

Found this erj.ersjournals.com/content/19/2/341 www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC5524340/

I am not denying long Covid by the way - I am saying we need to be cautious about the fact that it is so much worse than other viruses because for the first time we are monitoring it.

It is a good thing though because the long term effects of viruses and the inflammatory response they cause (of which COVID is undeniably very good at) is something that really needs to be looked at

Maybe it we had looked into it more and taken it more seriously in the past we would have more tools to deal with it now rather than.

I just hope we dont pass this off as a long covid issue and therefore ignore again CFS

@Lolaloveslemons its hard to say both my DD and DS school have traditionally done a one week half term this year it was down as two weeks when the term dates were announced in Sept 2019. There has been a move that this term is by far the longest (spanning over 4 months) as opposed to the other two and a two week half term is needed.
