Plan if cases increase exponentially again

Cases appear to be rising rapidly again. If deaths start increasing dramatically again too, how we will be able to contain things again, as surely another national lockdown is not feasible? Also since it's looking like there is long term damage in a high number of cases, there could end up being a lot of people with ongoing, possibly permanent physical issues.

I am optimistic about a vaccine, but I am starting to worry it might not arrive quickly enough to prevent a large scale disaster as things spiral out of control again.

When I posted on Monday, Sweden was on 19.7 per 100,000 with a death rate of 0.1

Now it's 24.0 and 0.2

And that's despite the caveat that From end of August 2020, Swedish authorities are performing daily data consolidation leading to data retro-corrections. This can result in a decrease of cumulative figures (cases or deaths) and related outputs

Swedens case rate and death rate (source ECDC) is rising, and is worse than its nearest neighbours (who are also rising, though Norway's and Finland's death rate remains at zero (as does that of Lithuania and Estonia)

I'd be quite interested in what those neighbouring countries are doing that is producing lower rates

including people who havent had a positive test in the numbers of people with long COVID isnt particularly helpful

How very convenient. Hmm Refuse to test people at the height of an outbreak, then you can pretend they dont exist later.

Most people with long tail COVID werent tested, at least in the uk. And the symptoms are pretty distinctive and in many cases nothing like other post viral syndromes.
