So FUCKING angry!!! - SIL contacted by track and trace

Long story.

Short version. SIL who thought it was too dangerous to let her YR 6 go to school, yet lets my niece go up to a packed fucking playground has been contacted this morning at 11am to advise that a boy, who although didn't have direct contact with my Niece, was mixing with the group she was in and has tested positive.

My BIL turned up this morning at 8am and was standing at the front door, I had to pop to the kitchen and when I came back in he was holding DD2 kneeling on the floor whilst kissing DD1. I went mad. He left.

TBF he didn't know that this boy had tested positive but I'm now in fucking pieces. WTF do I do?? I'm a key worker so DD1 is currently at fucking school!!

Am I over reacting thinking that we've now got it, that I need to rush down the school and grab DD1 and order tests??

Sorry for all the swearing but I'm soooo pissed off at the lack of common sense that side of the family fucking have!! 🤬🤬🤬🤬

Yep over reacting, did you expect your bil to have a crystal ball?

MrsWarleggan · 17/07/2020 19:53

So we have an update:

I swear on God's green earth this is the truth and word for word from SIL and I truly despair.

They all got tested last night and they are negative... However the "story" has since changed. Apparently the family of the boy (all 18 of them) went for a test, not because they had symptoms but because they wanted to see a new born baby and wanted to make sure they didn't have it. 17 of them were negative, but the boy was positive. After being contacted by T&T and remarking that it was such a faff having to provide details for everyone considering that only one of them tested positive and that "he probably didn't do it right anyway as the was playing with the end bit" (the boy had fiddled with and touched the swab before actually doing the test) they have now been told that they are all going to have to retest as it could be his result is a false positive.

What is wrong with people??!!

Who cares what other people do and why they do it? Stop getting so annoyed with them.

MrsWarleggan · 17/07/2020 20:12

@Nicknacky

Are you Dominic Cummings? You seem to have a real issue with the questioning of what I personally consider, inappropriate behaviour.

Do you think it's appropriate to lie to obtain a resource to enable your social life?

Nicknacky · 17/07/2020 20:16

Why, because I have replied a few times? I’m just not hysterical and I don’t get “FUCKING angry” because people are doing things that they are perfectly allowed to do. Yep, you got me. I’m Dominic Cummings.

And quite frankly, I don’t care why they got tested and if the tester people didn’t ask the right questions or quiz them enough on their reasons, then that’s their look out.

Comefromaway · 17/07/2020 20:19

Except the OPs in laws were doing things they are NOT allowed to and that was having the potential to impact on the OP’s family & health.

MrsWarleggan · 17/07/2020 20:20

That is of course your opinion, which you are completely entitled to. As am I.

OP posts:
Nicknacky · 17/07/2020 20:21

Comefromaway The kid went to a play park, that is allowed.

Nicknacky · 17/07/2020 20:21

Oh and went into a house. Again allowed.

MrsWarleggan · 17/07/2020 20:23

Not with a group of kids from multiple households.

OP posts:
Comefromaway · 17/07/2020 20:23

For track & trace to be involved the kid was obviously not keeping the correct distance & neither was the father when he was hugging & kissing the OP’s children.

Comefromaway · 17/07/2020 20:25

It’s still a maximum of 6 people outdoors and they mus keep a 2 metre distance.

My Ds had an end of year 11 party last night. 6 kids, chairs marked out at 2 metre distances in the garden and no sharing of food.

Nicknacky · 17/07/2020 20:27

Hang on, it’s your nieces friend who has been in the company of multiple households, not your niece?

Comefromaway · 17/07/2020 20:29

The niece was in the playground meeting up with a large group of friends with no social distancing, yes?

MrsWarleggan · 17/07/2020 20:33

Niece has been in his house with friends. They are out every day. They are 10. They live on an estate. You can't tell me that only she went into his house. Once and for less than 15 minutes. No social distancing even at the height of lockdown... As previously mentioned 18th birthday party.

School on 17th July? Does not compute.

How far into summer do English schools go?

Comefromaway · 17/07/2020 21:14

Today is the last day of term in most areas except for the few places that still have a 2 week summer half term and those schools break up next week.

isabellerossignol · 17/07/2020 21:16

School on 17th July? Does not compute. I would have considered it a crime against humanity to have to go to school in July or August Grin Mind you, we don't get half term between Easter and the end of summer term so presumably it all evens out.

stayathomer · 17/07/2020 21:30

I think you're overreacting and not at the same time. The people who are saying you are would of course be acting the same if it had happened to them.

MrsWarleggan · 17/07/2020 21:32

@isabellerossignol 😂😂

Was last day of term today...😊

Cornishclio · 17/07/2020 21:39

Your BIL should not be hugging and kissing your DC so you are not over reacting there. Surely now your niece has been exposed her and your SIL and BIL now need to isolate. He did not know that at 8am though. I do t think you not your DC need to do anything unless your BIL tests positive. I think you are over reacting a bit. We will have a lot of this.

Bettyboo1957 · 17/07/2020 23:01

A child tested positive? Kids make up less than 2% of the people who test positive . So the chances are pretty slim that the infection 'chain' contains more kids. If it was me I'd wait to be contacted by the official track and trace folks unless I read it wrong. I can imagine many gossips are gonna have a field day
.

KentMum81 · 18/07/2020 17:39

How did they get their results so quickly?
When I took my test, it was collected the following morning and I then waited a further 2 days before getting my result.

NotShiny · 18/07/2020 18:15

This is not true. You can only get a test if you have symptoms. You you are saying 17 people managed to get tested last night and got their results this morning. Give it a rest and come up with a more plausible story next time.
