Now that Boris has said people can drive for exercise and leisure, you know they'll flock to seaside's, lakes, peaks, etc.
Which means if they're carriers they'll be spreading the virus to petrol stations pumps, gates, railings etc.

I don't get the logic behind him saying that tbh.

@supermanisdead

It matters even less now I've realised they've just accused me of name changing... Whilst only existing themselves since yesterday morning after name changing to 'I Am A Keyworker' so they could post a thread moaning about people declaring themselves Key workers... Whilst declaring themselves a key worker..
Meta af tbh.

Judging by this thread it's all too clear that people will be flocking to nearby tourist places because they lack common sense.

Unsurprisingly there's people falling over themselves to prove how they couldn't possibly spread a virus that can be spread whilst people are asymptomatic. 🙄

Imakeyworker · 11/05/2020 09:41

You've just reminded me to change my username back.
My username is a piss-take but you'd have to have seen my thread to know that.
The only useful thing to come out of this.

BirdieFriendReturns · 11/05/2020 09:41

TLDR

(Too long, didn’t read) I bet it was really interesting though. Maybe.

MonkeyToesOfDoom · 11/05/2020 09:41

Oh and what is a cruciverbalist?
In my.case, it was the guy paid a pittance to compile crosswords for the local paper.. 😂
Crossword compiler basically.

Oh I see you've already searched!!
Bloody hell, that search engine is working hard this morning monkey

That search engine
Are you suggesting I use just one search engine to search Wikipedia and your name too? You know that's not how it works right?

Also, of your new name was a joke, pisstake or whatever, why you using it on threads unrelated to the joke / piss take? Your blathering about duvets on one thread.. more likely that's just an excuse and you'll name change now after this little bit of fun here, that way it won't be connected to anything else you blather about, good plan. I won't NC tho. I'll always be around.. following joo L33t

Nice bit of parochial intolerance on this thread. My inlaws are Cornish and there is a lot eye rolling between my and my (Cornish raised) husband when they start on the Emmitt shit.

When furlough finishes the s west tourist areas will be begging the tourists to come back.

Oh fuck, now you've done it, another spelling for some people to get upset about.. 😂

Spot on @serenada

DdraigGoch · 11/05/2020 09:55

It’s obvious from previous posts that people lucky enough to live in tourist spots don’t actually want tourists to visit, and the hostility has probably been there long before lockdown.

That's always been the case whether you are in Cornwall, North Wales or Venice. How would you feel if your town was absolutely swarming with people, litter everywhere and cars parked illegally? Everyone breathes a sigh of relief when the summer ends.

Imakeyworker · 11/05/2020 09:57

You're giving me the creeps now!
I've just explained that I forgot to change it back.
Why are you looking up every thread I've been on?

MN give the tool to be used, you can search anyones posts by their name. As you're called "I am a key worker" and seem intent on correcting people and insulting others, I was curious to see if you were a bored teacher.
That's when I spotted that you'd accused.me.of name changing but had name changed only yesterday yourself. Interesting..

I wonder if all touristy areas have names for their summer visitors?
I remember being in Scotland and some Scots calling us English folks 'Guffy'. Apparently it means pig.

merrymouse · 11/05/2020 10:11

if you travel quite a long way, can you be sure you'll be able to park and then walk when you get there and be able to keep your distance?

Agree. It's difficult to understand how social distancing will be maintained at popular beaches if the weather is good.

Imakeyworker · 11/05/2020 10:11

WAY too much time on your hands Monkey.

Imakeyworker · 11/05/2020 10:13

Did you find out?

LolaSmiles · 11/05/2020 10:16

Monkey many do have their own names. Many tourist areas accept and welcome tourists, they just dislike some of the entitlement that comes with some visitors. There was a thread a week or so ago where a poster was worried that tourist towns wouldn't be suitably gushing and grateful for their return after Coronavirus because during this crisis the rural/coastal communities had been telling people to stay away.

But please spare us teachers the insult of being linked to posts like Imakeyworker. Teachers have enough on their plates having to do their job in uncertain times and deal with the sheer amount of bashing and crap on Mumsnet (not genuine concerns by the way, actual bashing terms and conditions, not having a clue what the job entails, being accused of being lazy for not doing zoom lessons, too much/little work, too much online/not enough online work etc) to waste time doing things like that.

allinit2gether · 11/05/2020 10:16

Being able to spell xenophobic terminology hasn't been high on my life goals list.

MonkeyToesOfDoom · 11/05/2020 10:17

I love it. Just love it. I'm not telling you why I love it, but I think a simplistic clue..

I absolutely apologise if I caused even an iota of offence. Some of the teachers in the school my daughter goes to have been amazing during this emergency. My daughters teacher has called her and chatted, set work for her etc. Some have also been in everyday and ensured key workers kids are looked after and educated. They're brilliant.

This is such an awesome display of 'I got something wrong so I'm going to hound another poster until I win something else.'

It embarrassing, give it up.
