That last paragraph reads like something out of a satirical spoof. That these are people's lives at stake is just appalling. Sad
Hope everyone is feeling OK (ish) today.
@HelenaDove- I get you on the lockdown weight. I'm sitting here with my coffee wondering whether I need to change my already elasticated waist trousers for something looser!

@Beebityboo I hope you managed to sleep. I've started a thread on the school safety issue for those like us. It will probably attract people saying I'm ridiculous but I hope it will be supportive and informative.

Now got a sore throat as has dh. Bit worried as my nose isnt runny. But dc1 did have negative result so crossing my fingers
That testing is pretty disgusting. Really think shouldnt be competing with nhs testing. Need separate labs/ teams.
Everyone denying it's even partly the schools yet the science said it would raise it 0.5
The q is are our scientists useless?
Or just willing to say what the gov wants.
Thing is though at the top there they believed in going for herd immunity. They are stil the same people.
It is just slightly more subtle. Even with herd immunity they still need to stop so as to not completely overwhelm but it is a different policy to suppression.
I mean if you wanted to surpress you wouldnt allow flights. You would encourage working from home, allow kids to home ed. And certainly not be fining.
But on the other side. This will last till at least april.
Tbh with the behaviour of a couple of footballers and just not thinking sport at that level is really a priority.

Whitty and Vallance to give public briefing on Covid tomorrow www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk/news/greater-manchester-news/chris-whitty-sir-patrick-vallance-18967633

I wonder what they will say.

Dd1 has spiked a temperature and now has a sore throat too after having a runny nose all day. Ds is still on the warm side and his throat hurts when he coughs. He's been unwell for two weeks now.

The rates have increased in my area again. We are over 55/100,000 now.

Beecows hope thety are ok.
Ive now got a cough but no runny noss still. Though dc did. (Dc1 negative). Quite worried now as ive been through this before in apr and was really ill for months. (Also no runny nose) i guess though dc2 has had similar to me as in nose running a little bit but not enough to blow. They are mostly over the cough now. They werent really that bad.
Have noriced though since i had maybe covid in apr my nose hasnt run like usual anyway (allergies)

If i have got it despite dc1 negative then the tests are pretty pointless. Also i do wonder if dp did it properly as dc didnt seem to have been upset
