Just a Yes or No thread there are hundreds on the ins and outs of this.

This morning I read that Matt Hancock is claiming support for an extension is strong amongst the public but that’s not the impression I’m getting from social media

So, will you stick to the rules if lockdown in the UK is extended for another 3 weeks

Yes or No

Yes
(But 3 members of my household have broken the rules in the past week so don't bank on them)

flowerstar19 · 28/04/2020 23:21

Yes

MinkowskisButterfly · 28/04/2020 23:22

Yes.

Babymamamama · 28/04/2020 23:23

Yes

catinasplat · 28/04/2020 23:32

Only if the Government start being more transparent and stop lying to us. it's not a one way street.

ApplesinmyPocket · 28/04/2020 23:38

Yes

DontMakeMeShushYou · 28/04/2020 23:41

Yes.

CrocodileFondue · 28/04/2020 23:45

Yes.

Even if they lift the lockdown, I'm staying in it for another couple of weeks. I'm not letting my family be guinea pigs for this virus. Everything is just guess work at this stage, I'm so sick of people asking when can this that and the other open? When can we get a haircut...? etc. Thousands of people are dying ffs.

TollyMoll · 28/04/2020 23:45

Yes

maddy68 · 28/04/2020 23:46

Yes. I've lost 4 people to covid. Why wouldn't I comply ?

catinasplat · 28/04/2020 23:49

Aren't we all just gunea pigs to a certain extent CrocodileFondue? The purpose of the lockdown isn't to prevent people getting the virus, a certain percentage of us will get it lockdown or no lockdown. The point is to stop that percentage getting it all at the same time.

LimitIsUp · 28/04/2020 23:51

I would be prepared to break the rules and have a socially distanced chat in the garden with friends (can't see a problem / it's in the open air) but I don't think I can persuade them - so I guess I will be complying after all

Egghead68 · 28/04/2020 23:58

I am just hoping that our shielding time is not extended because others cannot complete lockdown

Agree.

Sosounhappy · 29/04/2020 00:05

Yes but am struggling would rather they said another week then review can cope better if then it is another week

Blackbeans · 29/04/2020 00:25

Yes. Unhappily, because I am on the edge mentally without any idea how the lockdown will be lifted without further waves, and quite liking the Sweden policy which I feel is the lesser of two evils (getting through a peak with voluntary social distancing and an economy running at 40% rather than 10%)

But I follow government rules.

excitedmumtobe87 · 29/04/2020 00:33

Yes.

Our current “lockdown” is lenient... the measures offer the freedom that the likes of Italy and Spain are working towards when easing the lockdown a little. We’re lucky. I can live with that

ClientQ · 29/04/2020 03:41

Yes. Not left the house since around the 18th March and I'm in until June anyway

Inkpaperstars · 29/04/2020 05:51

Yes

Sostenueto · 29/04/2020 06:16

Yes- but yesterday I saw traffic queues for local retail park as 2 diy stores opened when I went out to shop. I turned round and came back. So many people! I try to go out when least people are about. This was 8 am!

AvalancheKit · 29/04/2020 06:52

Yes

bellinisurge · 29/04/2020 07:34

Yes because it will be difficult to reintroduce lockdown- which they'd have to do if we opened up too early.

Runningfar · 29/04/2020 07:47

I don't really have a choice.

My place if work is closed so I'm wfh. My children's schools are closed. Anything I might want to do is closed.

It's not really appealing to go and queue to look round B&Q, or the supermarket.

So what choice do I have?

I will however go for as many walks as a please and I will play football in the park with the kids if I want to, although not much point in going for more than one. I will get my kids in the car and go for a drive if I feel the need.

As far as I can see lockdown is lifting itself in that businesses are beginning to reopen, takeaways, B&Q, I imagine the household recycling centres will reopen.

But there won't be too much change for me personally.

Cerealkillers · 29/04/2020 07:50

Yes

WomanIsTaken · 29/04/2020 07:50

Yes.
I'm a teacher and am feeling a bit concerned about returning to school, having seen that it is impossible to socially distance even with just a smattering of children and a high adult:child ratio to enforce distancing and hygiene measures. So another lockdown extension is welcome while we beaver away at trying to modify the learning environment and figure out new ways of working.

Runningfar · 29/04/2020 07:52

^*Actual lockdown rules? Yes

Fantasy rules made up by the MN self-appointed dementors and competitive misery merchants? Fuck no*^

Haha ^ this, with bells on.
