Just a Yes or No thread there are hundreds on the ins and outs of this.

This morning I read that Matt Hancock is claiming support for an extension is strong amongst the public but that’s not the impression I’m getting from social media

So, will you stick to the rules if lockdown in the UK is extended for another 3 weeks

Yes or No

Yes

Yes, although I’m currently being extremely cautious (one adult in our house to one shop once every ten days or so) and I think in the next couple of weeks we might go to more shops (eg a bakery, butcher, farm shop) and maybe even two different shops in one week!!! Might order takeout for collection too.

@Chillipeanuts

Same with Japan, which significantly opened up after just 3 weeks in “lockdown”. Infections (again, predictably) soared and they were forced to institute a second lockdown.

Where did you see this? Japan have had 385 deaths?

SinkGirl · 28/04/2020 20:50

Even if they lift lockdown I’m not going anywhere unless it’s essential

Originally saw a BBC report last week, possibly Newsnight?, but couldn’t be sure now. More recently, just googled and Time Magazine is reporting the same story. Specifically Hokkaido. Lots of reports covering it.

TheClitterati · 28/04/2020 20:54

Yes. Not much choice is there?

Mikki2019 · 28/04/2020 20:57

Better to have a second peak in summer months than autumn - winter

Germany had reduced their lockdown but are tightening it up again as the number of cases has increased again. Looks like they acted too quickly.

Yes.
I don't want to die.
I don't want my relatives to die.
I don't want my friends to die.
I don't want any more key workers to die
I don't want ANYONE to die of COVID-19.
I don't want any more pressure on the heroes working in NHS.

Staying at home reduces everyones chances of dying from COVID-19.

Mascotte · 28/04/2020 22:14

@LavenderLilacTree you’re doomed to failure there.. obviously people are going to die. Well, everyone is..

Lavender lilac, I agree.
Mascotte - why did you type that? Its obvious what Lavender is trying to say

Mascotte · 28/04/2020 22:26

@2old4thissite because it’s a totally unrealistic goal to base lockdown on.

Patterjack · 28/04/2020 22:29
