Following on from the Corona victims didn't have long to live anyway theme, can we use this theme to determine how we try murderers? It could free up a lot of room in jail's.
I'm thinking along the lines of if you kill a child, that's a really bad thing. We should throw away the key.
If someone kills a middle aged person, we do an assessment of the person's health, and sentence depending on how long they would live.
Victims over 60 should still have a short custodian sentence.
But for the victims over 80, I'm thinking suspended sentence with community service would be suitable, as they wouldn't have lived long anyway.
