So fricking glad I bought Easter eggs a couple of weeks ago

But pissed I didn't buy dog food.

Started coughing on the first of April so am now in lockdown quarantine in our house. At least I don't have to worry about being able to give DD a fuck ton of chocolate to make up for all this awfulness. Wouldn't have felt comfortable asking someone else to get Easter eggs in for us, not exactly an essential.

I've managed to get into Ocado and edit my order for next week. They still have Hotel Chocolat chocolates in stock and yes I did order myself a box!

How interesting eh? Grin

blobbyface · 04/04/2020 12:44

You can go out 7 days after your symptoms started - if no temperature then - but the rest of your family have to do 14 days.

CheriLittlebottom · 04/04/2020 12:46

Ooh nice. I've got an Asda delivery due Tues, might see if there's any egg offers on fancy ones for me. DH was reading this last night and got very excited about the chocolate orange egg so might see if I can add one of those too.

Yes blobby, found that info last night. I've not had a temp at all so far so I should be fine to go out by the 7th. Dog will not starve after all!

PMSL at @pocketem posting again on page 6 the same banal comment that she posted on page 1. Grin

D'ya think they forgot they already posted, or are they vexed and miffed that their first post didn't get enough attention?!

@CheriLittlebottom Your dog is frikkin' gorgeous! Smile

blobbyface · 04/04/2020 13:35

Phew to dog not starving.Grin

blobbyface · 04/04/2020 13:36

Plus I have chocolate orange eggs for the dc. Wish I'd bought one for me as well.

Orangecake123 · 04/04/2020 13:38

My family always bought easter eggs just after easter when they were heavily discounted. Shock

RhymingRabbit3 · 04/04/2020 13:43

@IthinkIsawahairbrushbackthere
45 eggs!? Wow!
Maybe you could offer to sell them on to people locally who are self isolating and unable to get out to the shops to buy them, so their kids dont go without. Or if you're feeling really generous give them to the food bank. I'm sure your family would understand especially if you arent going to see them for weeks

JesusInTheCabbageVan · 04/04/2020 14:41

@pocketem is possibly pissed off because s/he has only ever started one thread and it got 0 replies....

Anyone else noticed this doesn't seem to happen any more? Supermarkets seem to clear their shelves on the Saturday of Easter weekend here. Guessing there will be discounts this year in the run up though.

I noticed that OP. Same with Christmas decorations and cards, they now run down stock, not discount afterwards Sad

railwaysailway · 05/04/2020 08:41

Your dog is gorgeous! And I hope you feel better soon

CheriLittlebottom · 05/04/2020 11:19

Thanks railway, definitely on the mend now.

Excellent username, Janeway. Glad I have the Captain's approval!

I've just ordered mine via deliveroo

We have an M&S petrol station on there and our co op does deliveroo on a weekend.

I am out of isolation now.

I am shopping for ds and I and also for my shielding parents.

I did my Asda order last week for tomorrow and stuck 3 eggs (1 for ds and 1 each for parents on the order) and kept thinking should I really be doing this?!

But then I realised I was ordering food anyway so felt less bad!

I went even further and looked up whether I'd be able to get more candles in next weeks order as I'm burning through mine quite quickly.

Food is essential. Imo anything you order with it is fine. You aren't going out specifically for non essential items.

Carbosug · 06/04/2020 07:40

Some very snarky posters on here. Did they open the thread specifically to try and make the op feel bad? Mind you, one or two of the names are familiar and seem to have form for this rude, childish behaviour.

Bingo on both counts @Carbosug. I see some posters on this and other threads that seem to have had a personality transplant as I wouldn't have expected some of the bitchy comments from them. Either that or they're picking up on the more unpleasant vibe that's been kicking around MN for the past year or so.

Imstillskanking · 06/04/2020 08:04

Wow, I guess the lock down is making people extra bitchy. There's not normally this many sarcastic snipes on a thread like this!

Can someone please explain to me how Easter eggs are a non essential item? They are made of CHOCOLATE. Hello?!

Ridiculous. Next you'll be telling me that booze isn't essential either. Have a heart.

CheriLittlebottom · 12/04/2020 11:28

So, DD was indeed vibrating with excitement during her egg hunt this morning, and ddog has not yet succumbed to starvation. Happy days in house littlebottom!
