So fricking glad I bought Easter eggs a couple of weeks ago

But pissed I didn't buy dog food.

Started coughing on the first of April so am now in lockdown quarantine in our house. At least I don't have to worry about being able to give DD a fuck ton of chocolate to make up for all this awfulness. Wouldn't have felt comfortable asking someone else to get Easter eggs in for us, not exactly an essential.

I suspect Barrique may have forgotten to buy Easter eggs for his/her children. Bought too many lemons instead

HarrySnotter · 03/04/2020 19:45

God you’re just the best OP. So much better than everyone else.

Maybe step away from the internet ...

Murinae · 03/04/2020 19:45

I always buy cat food from zooplus. I can definitely recommend them

CheriLittlebottom · 03/04/2020 19:45
  1. Dog has the pets at home own brand so that's why I'm only looking there at the moment.
  1. Easter eggs were grabbed on my way around Aldi, I didn't make a special trip for them.
  1. Pets at home is on a retail park about twelve miles away. Not wanting to do an unnecessary journey, I'd been putting it off.
  1. Dog has about a third of a 20kg bag left. She's not going to starve tomorrow. I was leaving it a few days longer so that the supply chain could settle down, rather than drive there, find they had no stock, and have to do another journey a few days later.

I do so hope that's good enough for you, barrique. Now if you don't mind, I'm going to ignore you and continue to distract myself from my chest pain by waffling on pointlessly about Easter eggs. Unless that's not okay with you?

Slightly off topic but intrigued on that Royal Warrant programme to learn that the Queen feeds her dogs with Tesco basic dog food!!

PoloMama · 03/04/2020 19:46

Yes! I did an emergency run to Hôtel Chocolat to stock up on the Easter treats, and I’m blimin glad I did.
Sorry, not remotely interested in the hysterical “I’ve been disinfecting my shopping bags” threads. Hmm

Aesopfable · 03/04/2020 19:46

I bought Easter eggs a couple of weeks ago not just because of potential lockdown but because Easter eggs stocks can be funny at the best of times - supermarkets don’t want any left on Easter Monday so can run out a week or more before Easter.

HelpIcantfindaname · 03/04/2020 19:47

DD11 has a cough & sore throat so we are self isolating. Stuck in till just after Easter Weekend. Our celebrations are usually huge ...about 25 of us out for dinner & then a big egg hunt in mam's garden. My grown up daughter has 3 kids in the house & has made a 3 day plan for a disco, Easter activities & an egg hunt for her kids. Theres only me & DD in my house...I'll try & do something but it's not the same with just 2 of us here. My grown up DD has said she will try & get her little sis an Easter egg. I'm very tempted to ask if she can get us a little cake & hot cross buns too. Not essential I know, but DD is quite sad about not being with everyone for Easter.
OP I hope you feel better soon. And I hope you get your dog food.

Seventyone72seventy3 · 03/04/2020 19:48

I ordered our eggs from a local chocolate shop and they arrived yesterday!

CheriLittlebottom · 03/04/2020 19:48

One of them has a pink chocolate unicorn in the middle. DD will shit her pants with joy! (Hopefully not literally)

Just hoping it's dry on Easter Sunday so I can hide them in the garden. Egg hunts in the house aren't quite as fun!

GrumpiestOldWoman · 03/04/2020 19:48

Wow clearly many here whose chocolate withdrawal is bringing out the dick in them.

I too bought the easter eggs a few weeks ago, foregoed (forewent?!Grin) offer of toilet roll and focussed on essentials!

Seriously though, we're very isolated and haven't been out recently, and not too many treats in the larder. In an odd way looking forward to it being genuinely exciting to open an egg, rather than it being just 'yet more chocolate'.

MissDollyMix · 03/04/2020 19:50

I bought Easter eggs for all my family but I know for a fact that no one has bought one for me Sad

Barrique · 03/04/2020 19:50

I have more than enough chocolate in, thank you for asking - but more importantly, I have laid in the food that my animals need.

Perhaps I’m unusual in thinking that dog food is more important than Easter eggs?

Plus I can now make a shit ton of lemonade.

AllTheseThingsThatIHaveNotDone · 03/04/2020 19:50

Also-why are there even more people on here lately who just reply nasty or sarcastic replies to the OP. If you don’t like the thread, move the fuck along - it’s not hard
Yep, tends to be the first reply too - as if some keyboard wanker is awaiting fresh threads to be vitriolic on. I mean, I know you gotta have a hobby and that but fuck me, it's troll/bitch central at the minute.

Teacup34 · 03/04/2020 19:51

Why do people feel the need to be so rude. Hope you feel better soon Op I've got an online shop coming with Easter eggs on it. Glad we have some chocolate in now for some reason I really fancy some 😉. Stay safe everyone ❤️

Spied · 03/04/2020 19:51

Got 3 for £8 in Tesco while doing the big shop yesterday.
1 Malteasers for dd, 1 Chocolate Orange for dp and 1 Yorkie for ds( if anyone's interested).
Do and I have eaten the chocolate orange one.
DC have a couple of others that dm left on our doorstep last week. ( Creme egg&aero)

AllTheseThingsThatIHaveNotDone · 03/04/2020 19:52

I bought ten mini choc eggs for an egg hunt this week. We...erm...appear to have found them already Blush Easter Bunny will be bringing blooming robucks I reckon.

WanderingLost167 · 03/04/2020 19:52

I'm eating mine tonight, but the shops do have lots

CheriLittlebottom · 03/04/2020 19:52

Chocolate orange Easter egg you say...??

OP posts:
GrumpiestOldWoman · 03/04/2020 19:53

barrique please fuck the fuck off now, unless you manage to grow a sense of humour Hmm

Bunionbandit · 03/04/2020 19:53

If I’d bought Easter eggs weeks ago I would have eaten them myself ages ago. I admire your self control in managing not t to scoff them. I’m going to have to give the kids & grandkids money for Easter this year 🙈😀

Barrique · 03/04/2020 19:56

If OP wants to start a cheery thread about Easter eggs then that’s fine.

But why the shite about “I didn’t buy dog food”?

JesusInTheCabbageVan · 03/04/2020 19:57

@Barrique But if you were genuinely concerned for the dog, couldn't you have found some way of phrasing it that didn't make you sound like a massive, throbbing asshole?

CheriLittlebottom · 03/04/2020 19:58

Bunion I sort of threw them into the back of a very deep, high cupboard in my bedroom. I will need to stand on a step to get the back out. If they were in a kitchen cupboard I would definitely have cracked by now! Grin

I also had to have very strong words with DH about them. He's so far been behaving himself!

Barrique · 03/04/2020 19:59

Oh but I did - like trying different online pet food sites.

But apparently it’s not a thread about dog food, it’s about Easter eggs.
