But pissed I didn't buy dog food.

Started coughing on the first of April so am now in lockdown quarantine in our house. At least I don't have to worry about being able to give DD a fuck ton of chocolate to make up for all this awfulness. Wouldn't have felt comfortable asking someone else to get Easter eggs in for us, not exactly an essential.

I also have a dog with sensitive tum. The squits are bad!

mumsiedarlingrevolta · 03/04/2020 20:18

@CheriLittlebottom I got both dog and cat food from amazon-

even though Dcat's renal food (same brand) was a different shape she has accepted the hard times and is eating it happily

worth a look?

GrumpiestOldWoman · 03/04/2020 20:18

Fuckity bye barrique , seriously please go.

Krisskrosskiss · 03/04/2020 20:20

1forsorrow thanks I'll try again! The website was saying they were all sold out a few days ago...

Whitney168 · 03/04/2020 20:20

What a weirdly innocuous thread for people to start being dicks on

Isn’t it just?

Dog food is a nightmare at the moment - most out of stock, and those that aren’t at least 20% on normal prices and taking aaaages to deliver.

I have plenty of dog food, but it’s not 100% suiting my dogs after a relatively recent change (sod’s law, after I’d bulk ordered), so I wanted to order some of the previous stuff. I’m not holding my breath ...

CheriLittlebottom · 03/04/2020 20:23

I promise to make it mission to find a suitable dog food online tomorrow, relax all! If I can't get the one she usually has I can spend time comparing ingredients lists and try to get something similar.

Dog is a bit fat anyway, a few days of short portions won't kill her Grin.

We are quite fortunate that we have just 2 little cats, that don't eat masses of food, but if some people have 2 to 4 dogs, and especially big ones, (in addition to some other animals too,) it must be a struggle - and a worry - to get food for them. Flowers

Ditto, people who have more than 2 kids. Worrying about having enough food and supplies for them all, and worrying about meds they might need, etc... ALSO, I know one woman with three kids in nappies. A two year old, and 10 month old twins. Trying to get the amount of nappies she needs (and formula, as she stopped B/F them at 4-5 months,) is really stressful.

Me and a couple of others in the street have been picking up stuff for her when we can, (and for several others who are struggling.) But it's a battle to get into some shops (with all the queues,) let alone get lots of supplies for other people.

I really feel for some people. We have no kids at home, so can only empathise, but it must be a bloody nightmare for some. Sad

There are many shops out there, and many that sell pet food and all sorts of stuff for babies/children, but some people can't get out very easily at ALL, let alone get out to a dozen different shops.

I will be SO glad when all this is over!

@CheriLittlebottom All the best. 😘

missyB1 · 03/04/2020 20:31

Dh did the big shop at Asda today and got the Easter eggs, including a Quality Street one for me Smile
I went to Waitrose last week and stocked up on Lily’s Kitchen for our schnauzer, she also gets a dicky tum if you muck around with her grub.

Toddlertown · 03/04/2020 20:33

I did a big shop in asda today, sorry OP but SO MANY EGGS. I also got some little sparkly carrots to stick to the small eggs I’m hiding round the flat & a Easter bonnet Grin

I would never normally make any effort for Easter! But being stuck indoors every day, the chance of doing something different was to tempting!

The little ones are missing out on friends, school, parks, freedom etc. so a bit of excitement and something to look forward to on Easter Sunday is important this year. Even teenagers enjoy a chocolate binge.

I would be happy to add eggs to my shopping list if anyone asked me to get some.

Lol you sound like a woman after my own heart 😂 ignore all the negative eejits on here 🙄 they never fail to amaze me, good that have a wee harmless blether about Easter eggs 😃 stay safe in these challenging times for us all x

YgritteSnow · 03/04/2020 20:35

I confess I did think about the dog food situation and ordered a massive bag of James Wellbeloved to go with the half bag I still had.

would some other angry MNetter have attacked me for dog food hoarding if I had mentioned it?

Can't do right for wrong on here these days. Always someone looking to stick the boot in.

CheriLittlebottom · 03/04/2020 20:37

Cheers bunion! You too.

This thread has give me a great giggle. Hope you feel better soon OP

Astressie · 03/04/2020 20:46

Think @Barrique may have gone. Think she was amusing herself and having fun. Unless she is a rspca member in disguise and was seriously upset for the OP's dog. Don't think so though!! @CheriLittlebottom hope everyone enjoys the easter eggs. Love the sound of the unicorn one!! Hope you feel better soon. I think you're being very bravexx

Justajot · 03/04/2020 20:48

I can't help with dog food, but can recommend Easter eggs from here:

thesecrettruffletier.co.uk/collections/easter-eggs

They have a good range to buy online and some really lovely looking items for local delivery (I'd have a massive Easter bunny if we lived anywhere nearby).

Barrique · 03/04/2020 20:49

Still here, but OP has now drip fed enough to show she’s not actually that short of dog food.

BeetrootBasil · 03/04/2020 20:51

There were tonnes of eggs in my local waitrose. They look kind of sad.

I was wondering if people did not want to touch cardboard. Then I remembered most people buy them as gifts.

I am waiting for the discount.

GrumpiestOldWoman · 03/04/2020 20:53

barrique nobody else though she was mortally short of dog food, we had a sense of humour Hmm

Barrique · 03/04/2020 20:57

Yeah ... “I’ve bought shed loads of Easter eggs ... but pissed that I didn’t buy dog food”.

My sides are splitting Hmm

Ginfordinner · 03/04/2020 20:59

Our local Morrisons has obscenely huge mountains of Easter eggs.

IthinkIsawahairbrushbackthere · 03/04/2020 21:13

@OnwardsAndUpwards - I would but they are the smallest cheapest ones with the minimum of packaging and would not be likely to survive the journey.

Msmcc1212 · 03/04/2020 21:15

I ordered some online that were overpriced but though it was better than going to the shop. Then found out they are due to arrive day after Easter. Grrr.

Re angry posts from some. Anger never comes alone. There is always another emotion lurking underneath. Unnecessary anger says that someone is struggling. Let’s lavish angry posters with lots of love. Smile
