Continued support for those who need a few kind words to help them through the dips.

Please do not come here to ask 'but how do you know if you haven't had a test'

Those of you who ended up contacting 111 did you have to fill out online first ? I just called my GP but they are now not dealing with CV enquires

EMichel102 · 30/03/2020 17:22

@Spacecadetagain yes phone 111 as the online form will say “phone 111” anyway. It’s usually a long queue FYI - took about 45 mins to speak to someone who trusted me and said a clinician would phone me back. The call back was about 4 hours later.

TheDrsWife46 · 30/03/2020 17:23

When i rang 111 it was a huge wait but i just got triaged by a case handler and then called by a clinician. They then got a GP to call. No online form for me. The initial wait for about 40-45 mins. Clincian called back within 30mins. Gp called back within 2hrs but it was assured to me as an “hours callback”

Spacecadetagain · 30/03/2020 17:26

@EMichel102 and @thedrswife46 .. did you have to go in or were you seen at all ? I’m now feeling very frightened.. I’m definitely worse today and I’m trying not to scare DD .. but I’m literally in tears .. I’m frightened that it’s a case of .. thinking you’ve turned a corner a bit then taking a turn for the worse

EMichel102 · 30/03/2020 17:29

No I didn’t go in but they were reassuring.

@spacecadetagain you have to be seriously ill at the moment for them to feel you need to go in. What day are you and why do you feel it’s gotten worse? I’ve been there a few times myself and it’s scary but was ok and passed. Hang in there!

stayathomegardener · 30/03/2020 17:31

Waves @onlinelinda glad things are improving for you.

Did check back earlier to the earlier threads and wondered how you and the OP were.

TheDrsWife46 · 30/03/2020 17:31

How many days in are you space?

I have cried daily with fear because the sensations are so unpleasant as well as how ill i feel. Im very frightened.

I havent been seen. The GP spoke to me on the phone. And i think because i coukd talk on the phone they deemed me not bad enough because i could talk. Over the past two nights @MooPointCowsOpinion and I have spoken and she has been seen by a paramedic twice. Im worried about her but we were both told the aame, if your not blue, you’re not bad enough.

Spacecadetagain · 30/03/2020 17:34

@thedrswife46 and @EMichel102 . I think I’m about 17 days in .. I just feel like my chest is being crushed.. paracetamol isn’t touching it and my chest is just grating horribly .. It feels so scary

TheDrsWife46 · 30/03/2020 17:35

@Spacecadetagain okay I just retraced the thread and see your at day 17/18. Like the other longer posters, could it be that your fever/tremors/shakes etc are setting in more frightening you after periods of wellness? At this days stage I would assume that you’re all ready mounting a good immune response rather than overdrive. Keep talking here so we can help you

TheDrsWife46 · 30/03/2020 17:36

Do you have an oximeter?
Inhaler?

stayathomegardener · 30/03/2020 17:37

Can you measure your oxygen saturation levels for reassurance @Spacecadetagain?

Alternatively do you feel able to try steam inhalation? That has helped a few of us.

EMichel102 · 30/03/2020 17:40

@Spacecadetagain Ive heard people say it can feel like a small elephant is sitting on it. Maybe others have felt that same feeling? I haven’t had the joys of that one yet. But do call 111 and they can walk you through some “checks”. Given its day 17 youre probably in the clear but it’s nice for reassurance

Standrewsschool · 30/03/2020 17:43

@grapefruitsarenottheonlyfruit

My temperatures lasted for about 16 days, and was 40 initially. It was worse at night, and for a few days I woke bathed in sweat. I seem to be improving then it got worse again, and crept back up to 39+, although wasn’t so bad during the day. I’’ve just been so lethargic though. I never sleep during the day normally.

Standrewsschool · 30/03/2020 17:44

We’ve tried 111 twice. We got through the initial blurb then the phone rang for 1 1/2 hours and we gave up. The second time it rang for three hours and then we got cut off. I then rang the Gp who gave me antibiotics.

Howmanysleepsnow · 30/03/2020 17:45

Has anyone had a burning abdo pain? Particularly anyone on immunosuppressants (more likely to get atypical symptoms)?

Standrewsschool · 30/03/2020 17:47

I haven’t had any chest pain, just a hacking/whooping/crouping cough that made my whole body shake and heave at its worst.

tangledyarn · 30/03/2020 17:47

@thedrswife46 yeah that's exactly what happened to me at 111. Everyone has been v lovely, the threshold for needing to be seen is high. It's strange you can feel very poorly but not be medically desperate which can be hard to get your head around! X

AnythingPecan · 30/03/2020 17:48

Has anybody had the feeling that something is stuck in their throat?

EMichel102 · 30/03/2020 17:48

Do you guys hear gas / bubbles building up And gurgling toward evening in your stomach and chest area? I become quite bloated and wish I had some gasx or something to calm it down...wondered if it’s digestive only or not

Porcupineinwaiting · 30/03/2020 17:48

@Spacecadetagain did you ever get someone to check you out?

SwimForBrighterDays · 30/03/2020 17:48

Hello, hope you're all doing as good as you can be.

Can I just ask what the sore throat feels like? I have come down today with a horrible sore throat. The kind that hurts when you swallow. Kind of feels like there's something stuck but there isn't.

I've also been absolutely exhausted for the past two days no matter how much I sleep.

My temperature is fine though and I don't have a cough.

AnythingPecan · 30/03/2020 17:49

@EMichel102 yes me - I've had lots of indigestion and bloating. I find drinking a naturally carbonated water quite helpful at relieving the pressure. I find if I don't, it makes the pressure in the chest feel worse.
I'm day 13

ScrimpshawTheSecond · 30/03/2020 17:50

Spacecadetagain, just dropping in to say hope you get through to 111, and sorry you're feeling so rubbish. Sounds like calling is the right thing to do.

Spacecadetagain · 30/03/2020 17:50

@TheDrsWife46 . No I don’t have a sats monitor .. Tbh I’ve no idea what day I’m on .. I started with a temperature 17 days ago and then took it from there although I felt well for a couple of days before I started feeling under the weather and then tummy upset and fluctuating temp kicked in . All last week I had the horrible chest tightness.. elephant on chest etc along with painful ribs and kidney pain .. Tbh yesterday afternoon although feeling shattered .. I felt much improved only to wake this morning to the chest pain back and the hideous grating sensation along with elephant on chest feeling

Freshairimportanttoo · 30/03/2020 17:52

Just to be very clear in spite of this being viral. Are people saying that antibiotics are helping them?
